1. Proclick: Using pre-punched binding paper and binding covers it is possible to create documents with GBC Proclick. All you need to do is print your pages onto the prepunched 32 hole paper, assemble your document and finish the binding. You can use the Proclick zipper tool that came in the box with your supplies to snap the spines shut.

2. Zipbind: The process for binding documents with Zipbind is identical to the process used to bind documents with Proclick. However, Zipbind uses 19 hole prepunched paper and covers. Again, all you need to do is print your document on the punched paper, insert the spines onto the document and snap them shut.

3. Spiral Coil: Using spiral coil prepunched paper and covers it is possible to bind documents using plastic coil without any need for a binding machine. The prepunched paper for this binding style is going to have either 43 or 44 holes. All you need to do is print your document on the pre punched paper and then spin the coil through the holes onto the edge of the document. To finish the binding process you will need to use a pair of pliers to cut off the excess coil and then bend the ends of the coil over so that the coil cannot spin off the edge of the book.

4. Velobind: It is possible to bind documents using four pin reclosable binding spines using 11 hole Velobind prepunched paper and covers. With this style all you need to do is insert the pins through the holes in the book and the receiving strip. You then simply snap the excess portion of the pins into the back of the receiving strip.

5. 3-Ring Binders and Screw Posts: The final option for binding your document without the use of a binding machine is to use a 3-ring binder or screw posts. Three ring view binders allow you to insert your own printed information into the front, back and spine of the binder. This helps to give your view binders a customized look and feel. Screw posts can also be used to bind documents without the need for a binding machine. With both of these options you can either use a common 3-hole punch or you can purchase pre-punched three hole paper and covers.

All five of these binding options provide a different look and feel and do not require a binding machine. For companies who are small and only need to bind a few documents, any one of these options can be an excellent choice. Really, it just comes down to the look and feel that you want for your documents and reports.

Building trust between you and your potential client is a very important step that needs to occur first or else they won't buy from you.  In fact, building trust is a prerequisite to selling.  So how do you go about building this trust?  Following are 7 tips.

Tip #1 When having a sales conversation, explore whether you can help the person get what they want.Forget about selling because as soon as
someone feels you're trying to sell something, they'll instinctively not trust you.  That's just human nature.  If, however, someone feels you are genuinely trying to help them, then they'll be more likely to trust you and buy from you.

Tip #2 Ask questions - be sincere.When you sincerely ask a potential client questions and you come from the perspective that you want to understand if you can help them, the more likely they are to trust you. Please note that I use the word "sincerely." People will know if you're just asking questions because you think you ought to.

Tip #3 Listen to people - be sincere.When you ask someone questions, actively and sincerely (there's that word again) listen to their answers.  Put yourself in their shoes and listen from their perspective.  Be fully present and release all judgement.  The more you sincerely listen to someone the more they will trust you.

Tip #4 Watch what you're thinking.You may not realize it, but when you're talking to a potential client, they will pick up on what you're thinking and feeling.  There is no hiding this!  Therefore, before you have a sales conversation get in the appropriate thinking mode so you're feeling and thinking thoughts that will result in the person trusting you.

Tip #5 Do what it takes to build up your confidence.If you don't feel confident about having a sales conversation, people will sense it.  If you're not confident, chances are the person you're talking to will not feel confident about you.  This will impact the level of trust.  Identify ways you can increase your confidence in having a sales conversation.  What courses can you take, what books can you read and so on? 

Tip #6 'Be' Your Word.In your conversations with people, ensure that what you say you will do and what you do are in 100% alignment.  If you're not in alignment you won't go far. 'Be' your word and people (including yourself) will trust you.

Tips #1 through #6 are essential but if you really want to accelerate the process of building trust read Tip #7.

Tip #7 Get yourself known as the expert  in your niche/target market.People trust experts.  People believe (rightly or wrongly) that you wouldn't have reached "expert" status unless you know what you're doing. If you're serious about building your business and building trust, get yourself known.

Get over it! If you run any type of business, you're going to
have competitors.

Even if your product or service is a unique one, soon you'll have
copycat products start surfacing. Competition is therefore just
a fact of business life and one of the 'virtues' of living in a
capitalistic society.

Now that you are over it, let's examine some ways in which you
can hit your competition without marginalizing your prospects.
Your choices are about the same as a politician's with regard to
b
ating his or her opponent.

So you can:

1. Drag your competitor's name through the mud.

You can try and discourage your prospect from dealing with your
competition by slandering their name and claiming their products
to be inferior. Only problem is that in the majority such cases
this has the opposite effect and brings more attention to your
rival in business. What happens is that people who knew nothing
about your competitor now go to investigate for themselves the
validity of your claims.

I'm sure you've seen this phenomenon where unknown books are
banned, only to make unto the bestsellers list.

This approach can also backfire since you'll appear as a jealous
and vindictive business owner. Your arguments will appear more
driven by feelings rather than hard facts. This is therefore
not the best approach to take.

2. Making a recommendation with a major reservation.

This strategy is a little more ethical than the first but not
anymore rewarding. In this case you make a recommendation such
as: "You are welcome to buy your widgets from the XYZ company if
your construction is needed only for a few months, because
that's how long they last." Here you are really giving a
compliment and then undoing everything you said before. This may
be a neat psychological tactic but your business still appears
in a negative light.

3. Invite an apple-for-apple comparison.

When you invite your prospect to compare your product side by
side with that of your competition, you are showing confidence in
your product without putting your competition down. So you can
say: "I invite you to compare our vacuum cleaner to any leading
brand and see the results for yourself. We are sure that you'll
be pleased by the results that you get from our latest model."

The interesting thing about this approach is that most people
wouldn't bother to do the field test. Simply because you were
not afraid to acknowledge your competitor's product will instill
the confidence in your prospect to get your product. It will be
assumed that you already did the comparison and know the results
otherwise you wouldn't make such a claim. Even if someone did
make the comparison then you have a new testimonial to add to
your file.

There are several ways in which you can invite this comparison
without making a statement as I did above. You can use a table
that juxtaposes the features of your product against your
competitor's. Such tables can simplify the process of carrying
out a test and 'help' the prospect towards choosing your
product.

Another effective way is to quote credible sources such as
Consumer Report magazine. Such organizations are not supported
by advertisers and so their results carry real weight with the
consumer. There are other such third-party organization that are
considered neutral and their conclusions credible.

Outside of such organization you can point to reviews done by
users of your products where the reviews are not used as an
affiliate advertising tool. You are looking to erase all bias in
these comparisons.

You may also be wondering how to address the case where your
product is obviously inferior to that of your competitor's. In
such a situation, you simply admit your faults openly. There are
times when extra features can be a useless luxury. For some
people, a car is just a convenience to take them from point A to
point B. They may not need the luxuries of a Porsche or have
the money to pay for such an expensive vehicle.

So let's say you were selling an autoresponder script that is
definitely not as feature-rich as another script. You can state:
"If you are looking for high-end script capable of emailing to a
million-strong list and having all the fancy features that
you'll never even bother to use, then this script is NOT for you.
However, if you are looking for a small but rugged program that
will deliver your emails, without all the bells and whistles
(and accompanying high price) then the Maxemailer is for you."

Right away you see that you are showing the customer that your
script will do the main thing that a product like yours should
do, without having to invest a large amount of money in its
purchase. You are admitting that your script is lacking in many
features, but in the end these components may not be necessary
to get the job done.

In addition, by admitting to your products 'weak side' you build
instant credibility with the customer. Many marketers think
that they have to hype their products in order to get sales. But
many marketing tests have shown that if you admit to the
disadvantages of using your product, sales increase!

Managers: Paying for PR-Lite?

As a business, non-profit or association manager, your
public relations expenditure may give you names in the
newspaper or product plugs on radio. But what about key
stakeholder behavior change – the kind that leads directly <
r>to achieving your managerial objectives?

Since that's public relations' strongest suit, shouldn't you
be getting that first, THEN incremental publicity exposure?
Especially when persuading those important outside folks
to your way of thinking can move many of them to take
actions that help you achieve your department, division or
subsidiary objectives?

Bounce this notion off the public relations team assigned to
your unit: people act on their own perception of the facts
before them, which leads to predictable behaviors about which
something can be done. When we create, change or reinforce
that opinion by reaching, persuading and moving-to-desired-
action the very people whose behaviors affect the organization
the most, the public relations mission is accomplished.

If they buy into it, you'll have a simple blueprint that gets
everyone working towards the same external audience
behaviors insuring that your public relations effort stays
on track.

Consider the possible payoffs: customers starting to make
repeat purchases; community leaders beginning to seek you
out; welcome bounces in show room visits; membership
applications on the rise; prospects starting to do business
with you; fresh proposals for strategic alliances and joint
ventures; higher employee retention rates, capital givers or
specifying sources beginning to look your way, and even
politicians and legislators starting to view you as a key
member of the business, non-profit or association
communities

But, like everything else, there's no free lunch in PR either,
and the work looks like this. You need to find out who
among your important outside audiences is behaving in ways
that help or hinder the achievement of your objectives. And
then, list them according to how severely their behaviors affect
your organization.

Of course it's unlikely that you have the facts and figures you
need to pull this off because you aren't real certain just how
most members of that key outside audience perceive your
organization.

There's also a good chance you don't have the budget to
accommodate expensive professional survey work. So you and
your PR colleagues (they should be quite familiar with
perception and behavior matters) must monitor those perceptions
yourself.

Meet with members of that outside audience and ask
questions like "Are you familiar with our services or products?"
"Have you ever had contact with anyone from our organization?
Was it a satisfactory experience?" Stay alert to negative statements,
especially evasive or hesitant replies. Watch carefully for false
assumptions, untruths, misconceptions, inaccuracies and
potentially damaging rumors. Any of which will need to be
corrected, because experience shows they usually lead to
negative behaviors.

So, because the obvious objective here is to correct those
same untruths, inaccuracies, misconceptions and false
assumptions, you now select the specific perception to be
altered, and that becomes your public relations goal.

But a PR goal without a strategy to show you how to get

you must select one of three strategies especially designed
to create perception or opinion where there may be none,
or change existing perception, or reinforce it. The challenge
here (albeit small) is to insure that the goal and its strategy
match each other. You wouldn't want to select "change
existing perception" when current perception is just right
suggesting a "reinforce" strategy.

Your writers step forward here to create a compelling
message carefully designed to alter your key target audience's
perception, as called for by your public relations goal.

Stay flexible as to message delivery because combining your
corrective message with another presentation or newsworthy
announcement of a new product, service or employee may
lend more credibility by not overemphasizing the need for
such a correction.

The new message must be very clear about what perception
needs clarification or correction, and why. Your facts must
be truthful and your position must be logically explained and
believable if it is to hold the attention of members of that
target audience, and actually move perception in your direction.
It's clear that your message must be compelling.

I call the communications tactics you will use to move your
message to the attention of that key external audience "beasts
of burden" because they must carry your persuasive new
thoughts to the eyes and ears of those important outside people.

You're in luck here because the list of tactics is a long one. It
includes letters-to-the-editor, brochures, press releases and
speeches. Or, you might select radio and newspaper interviews,
personal contacts, facility tours or customer briefings. There are
dozens in waiting and the only selection requirement is that
those tactics you choose have a record of reaching people just
like the members of your key target audience.

Your associates will soon want to know if any progress is being
made. Of course you'll already be hard at work remonitoring
perceptions among your target audience members. Using
questions similar to those used during your earlier monitoring
session, you'll now be on the lookout for indications that
audience perceptions are beginning to move the way you want
them to move.

Things can always be moved along at a faster clip by adding
more communications tactics, AND by increasing their
frequencies.

The only way to be certain you are buying full-bodied public
relations results and not the "Lite" version, is to undertake an
aggressive public relations plan that targets the kind of key
stakeholder behavior change that leads directly to achieving
your department, division or subsidiary objectives.

Someone asked me recently, if I were to expand an existing professional services business onto the internet, what marketing steps would I take first: set up a web site, a shopping cart, a newsletter, or a blog?This is a very good question. I had an interesting email this week from a reader who asked me about website design fees. This is not my area of expertise. But this reader is a very smart guy. Why? Because he knows from my ezines, blogs and web site that I've been online for a few years and making a decent living from it.

He's a rabbi who has many years experience counseling people. He now has made a wise decision to start offering coaching services to people, and wants to leverage the internet to find clients, sell ebooks and other programs.

The First Step – Ask Questions

He has many questions about what to do first, where to invest his marketing dollars, and how to get set up so everything works seamlessly and automatically.

While I don't profess to have all the answers to his particular questions, I want to emphasize what's important here. He is asking questions!Many people just go with their gut or common sense. It goes something like this:

"I need a way to find people online. Ergo, I need a web site. Who can do a web site for me, that doesn't cost too much? Oh, you can? Only $1000. Okay, that seems reasonable. Do it."

It's only later on down the road when they want to start an ezine, or a blog, or sell an ebook that they realize they need more than just a web site. That's when the web designer kicks in with hourly fees.

I've never heard a programmer say they can't do something. They always say they can easily set up autoresponders, gather email addresses, send out a newsletter, create a blog on your site, and even create a secure payment system for sales.

I'm sorry, but here's the real news: programmers and web site designers can do all these tasks with your web site, but they will charge you for it, and it still won't do everything automatically. And you will be tied to their hourly fees (and schedule) forever.

Back to the question asked of me at the beginning of this article.

While my partner and I recommend an all-in-one solution and setting up all the elements together if your budget permits, there are a couple of ways to get started.

Unless you have a database of prospects, you will not sell your services or products.

Therefore, we recommend getting started the right way by building your database — by offering an ezine or free content to attract people to your business.

And, you need a place on the Internet where people can find you and subscribe to your content.

The first two pieces then, especially if you're just starting out and have a limited budget, are a blog and a shopping cart program with an autoresponder system.

The money expected, depends on the turnout of the farm. As a rule
however the profit rate is about 75 – 80%. Fishes are sold in
weights (KG) and not in numbers. Loss or non-loss or gains in weight
in turnouts will either extend or shorten the time to achieve
financial goals of profit making and for the business to sustain
itself.

Once the ponds are constructed, fish to be stocked are booked or
produced at least one month before stocking and other facilities put
in place, the v

the day of financial mobilization and cash backing. It is also
expected to become profitable not more than 1 year after the 1st
harvest, the 1st harvest is expected to be not more than 6 months
after the 1st stocking and continues every 2 weeks or monthly. In
other words if we stock a certain number every 2 weeks or monthly,
after the 1st 6 months we should begging harvesting a certain
kilogram every 2 weeks or monthly too.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS

Fish farming is a risky business that requires special knowledge and
skills. A good management practice is the key. Individuals with
little or no experience can also be successful. Enlisting the
assistance of someone in the know-how of the business either by
profession or/and by experience is essential. Supervision and
training would also be giving to persons of little or no experience.
Other factors to consider include:

Employment of adequate staff and paying competitive salary
Employing a marketing officer
Provision of official vehicle for farm operations
Offering placement for I.T students
Networking with other fish farmers and others in the industry.

PRODUCTION FEASIBILITY

In Nigeria, there is no special permit needed to establish a fish
farm. It is a completely deregulated sector of the economy, in fact
the whole of agricultural sector is. To however gain recognition by
the government and be a legal entity it is important to register the
business name with the corporate affairs commission, which cost a
total of #30,000. With time one can then register it as a private
liability company (LTD) which is #50,000 for a company with share
capital of about a million.

Fishes live, eat and perform all metabolic activities in water.
Water quality management is therefore very important. The factors to
consider and their corresponding control are:

Temperature – the acceptable level is 26 -28 OC. the control is by
building a shelter over the ponds and the supply of oxygen by the
use of aerators.
PH – acceptable level is 6.5 – 9.5. Control is by exchange of water
if too acidic or alkali.
Salinity/ conductivity – the acceptable level is not less than 0.2%.
Controlled by diluting with water if salt is high or exchange if
salt is low.
Mineral and Vitamins – this is supplied through the feed. Ensuring
sufficient quantity in feed is the control.
Dissolved gases - this build up as a result of metabolic activities
and nitrification and displace dissolved oxygen. Control is by
supply of air or exchange of water. This should be 70% - 120% but
100% is optimum

Since we are running a flow through system, these parameters will be
managed by change of water as frequent as necessary. Water quality
tests can also be carried out frequently and the cost of these will
be made from fuel and chemicals.

LAND

Land if not yet available has to be acquired. Cost of acquisition is
however location dependent. No figure would however be giving in
this right up.

A simple and ideal sample farm site layout is attached with this
document. Autocad software would be needed to view it. Modifications
can however be made depending on the client.

I searched for many years trying to learn how to make money around the world. In every country I lived and worked, I saw many differences, but some surprising things in common. One thing in common is that the gap between kings, queens and peasants has closed, almost universally. Royalty has all but disappeared - but the poor have kept on being poor. The middle class arose in the waves of industrialization and assumed a large role in their economies, while the working classes and poor still remained the major part of the population. As the tw
ntieth century drew to a close, the heat was on to eliminate the middle class, the rich became fewer percentage wise as populations grew, but much richer, while the poor got poorer and the middle class struggled to survive and maintain its position in economic society. How do the rich do it? Good question and deserves an answer.

The mechanisms by which the rich could accumulate wealth became more and more efficient, as they paid less and less in taxes, while the poor struggled to survive (as usual) and the middle class was taxed to death. How many executives do you know who have lost almost all their benefits, 401K, medical insurance, company car, year-end bonus, etc. And even when they had them, their perks were taxed to the hilt.

How much does a business person pay on "perks"? You should know the answer is almost nothing. "Perks" are legitimate business expenses and tax deductible!

Just a personal observation, I'm no social scientist - but I was not surprised when Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump came out with their excellent book entitled, "Why We Want You to be Rich". They lay out, more eloquently than I, the multiple reasons for this world-wide trend and make a sobering and clear argument that the middle-class JOB (Just Over Broke) is on its way out. How many jobs have been outsourced from the West to Asia? Not only that, but the trend is for more and more middle class Americans to discover that a corporate career does not offer any answers. Period.

Since the job and corporate America go hand in hand and jobs are vanishing at an alarming rate, then the only way to secure and maintain life style, income level, and enjoyment of life is to turn toward the small home based business.

Home based business is booming like never before. I'm told there are more laptops and Macs in the Rocky Mountains than there are in New York City. No stats on that, but it does show a strong trend away from traffic, commuting, smog, bosses, and long hours, if not days, away from the family and loved ones. How do you feel about home, work, and jobs?

I remember my years as an exec. I used to think I was special. I had a business card that said I was. I had a secretary at the door to screen (really protect) me from intruders. I had the power! That is until Friday came along at 5p.m. You know what happened - I joined the ranks of amazed and shocked, "How could they be so stupid?" and other stronger terms. But I comforted myself with, "They'll see - I'll have a better job within weeks."

How long did it really take? You know the answer, and that was a few decades ago. Today, the situation is a hundred or a thousand times more difficult. Friends of mine, who are far more qualified than I, have been looking for months and years, and found nothing.

And that's even taking into account that the government made a small slip in their calculations. It seems that this recession didn't start in December '08 - it was really December '07. Oh, really!? My last conventional business (real estate and mortgages) started to dive in December '05. Mind you, that was South Florida!

All that said and done, it looks like the only way to improve your situation and look forward to better years ahead, is to start your own business. What business? I'm glad you asked - because you have to be very wary and very careful - not just any old business.

Conventional business is out! No high cost office space, no staff, no inventory to carry, no heavy marketing budget, no distribution, no franchise fees. Can you imagine the risk involved in these start ups today? No way!

The world has turned against heavy leviathan businesses like GM and IBM. It's the little, nimble guys who have the edge. Look at how many household name companies were set up less than a decade ago starting from a garage! You get the point?

The only safe way is to learn how to start your own business on the internet. The internet continues to grow at a firm gallop. It is so huge it cannot slow down, even if you wanted it to.

You can learn how to make money with an internet business with very little investment, very low ongoing costs, and you already have your computer. (how else would you be reading this?) That said, the potential is there to make thousands, hundreds of thousands, and millions. There are individuals out there who are making tens of millions every year! Why don't you know who they are? They're under the radar - I could name names, but why should they want the attention?

Bottom line is this. If you really want a better life for you and your loved ones, then you had better learn how to make money on the internet. I would like to share my experience that I had with Stumblehere. It strongly suggests that without the understanding of who
and what your organization is all about, the behaviors of
those important external audiences may hinder your
efforts and, left unattended, tie your organization in knots.

This sentence sums up the bottom line. When public relations
alters key audience perceptions, then reaches, persuades and
moves them to an action you desire, it clearly helps achieve
management's objectives.

reinforce it. Your public relations goal will lead you to the
proper strategy selection.

The meat of the program is usually the message you will send
to members of your target audience. After all, that message
will be charged with the task of altering people's perceptions,
and that means it must be persuasive and compelling. It must
also be as clear as possible, and contain the facts and figures
needed to repair the perception damage. In short, your message
must be believable. You might also run it by a few members
of your target audience to be sure it has the desired effect on
the perception you are striving to alter.

Moving your message to many members of your #1 external
audience requires aggressive and carefully targeted
communications tactics. Public relations is fortunate to have
dozens of such tactics from which to choose. For example,
radio and newspaper interviews, letters-to-the-editor, face-to-
face meetings and speeches. Or you might select tactics such
as facility tours, brochures, community meetings, special
events and promotional activity.

In due course, after your communications tactics have spread
your message far and wide, you will want to know if you are
making any progress. Experience shows that remonitoring
your target audience is a must.

You will want to ask the same questions of audience members
you used during your data gathering exercise at the start of the
program.

Your objective, however, will be different. Now, you will be
looking for signs that the offending perception has begun to
be altered in the direction you desire. Should more work be
necessary, a possible change in the mix and frequency of your communications tactics can be made. And, of course, you would
want to review your message for clarity, impact and direction,
especially with regard to your supporting facts and figures.

Because we know that predictable behaviors tend to follow
changes in perception, your carefully planned public relations
effort is well-positioned to create key audience support for
management initiatives.

Internet scams and frauds are on the rise! The quantity of scam
emails with various fraud schemes any email account receives
today is simply overwhelming! There is this infamous Nigerian
419 scam, which is by far the most widely circulated one. I wrote
about it in one of our ezine articles not long ago. You can read
about it here! And there are many other scams like Lottery, Letter
of Credit, money transfer, black money conversion, real estate,
fraudulent order and the list goes on and on.
Looking at my daily
oze of scam letters, looks like, the lottery
scam seams to be gaining popularity among the con artists. This
scam is similar to other forward fee schemes, where the goal of
the con artist is to persuade an unsuspected victim to send an
advance payment for some dubious offers that the swindlers never
plan to fulfill.

Email Lottery Scam

The subject of the emails from an unknown source to you will,
probably show, something similar to, "Congratulation! You have
own a lottery". With minor variations the text in most of these
letters is virtually identical.

The letter, usually, claims to be issued by a Lottery Company
based in some countries like The Netherlands, Switzerland, England,
Canada or the USA.

And then it says that you are one of many people randomly chosen
from all over the world to participate in a lottery of a very large
sum. You along with some others have won this lottery. You will
be asked to contact them immediately to claim your prize money.
Most certainly, the letter will also warn you to keep this as a
secret and will specify that the offer has a time limit.

If you contact them after receiving this letter; there are number
of variation how the thugs will try to swindle you. They are quite imaginative and sometimes very innovative in their endeavors.

In general the idea is – you have to pay a fee before the lottery
company can release the amount to you. The pretexts are, usually,
an investigation company has to make sure that you are the right
person who won the lottery, as a foreigner you have to pay a tax
before you can get your prize and there is a processing and
handling fee that has to be paid before hand, etc.

Don't think that these dubious offers are only sent by emails.
People received them by regular mails, by direct phone calls and
even by SMS.

Phone Call Lottery Scam

One fine morning you may receive a call from a person, claiming
to be a lawyer from a prestigious law farm, and will tell you
that you have won a foreign lottery; that a processing fee is
due before the prize money can be released to you. The seniors
are most likely to be the victims of these telemarketers. If you
are located in the USA, most likely, the person will introduce
himself as a Canadian lawyer and will inform you as if you have
won a Canadian Provincial Lottery.

Lottery Scam by SMS

You may even receive a SMS message advising that you have won
a foreign lottery. You will be instructed to log onto a website
and enter a login and password, which would be provided to you
in the message. The site will have the same look and feel of a
legitimate lottery site, but in fact, it is a copy site created
by the scammers. The URL address will have a very minor,
virtually, unnoticeable difference. Once you log in and see
for yourself that you have really own the lottery, you will
be asked to forward a gaming tax of US $100 to US $500 before
you claim your prize.

How to identify these scams and avoid being conned?

The number one motto that you should follow is – if it is too
good to be true, then probably, it is indeed too good to be true!
There is no way you can win a lottery, in what you have never participated!

The followings are the signs of probable scam offers, you will
be better off if you avoid them scrupulously:
Any offer, where you have to send cash upfront to redeem you
prize.
Any offer of a substantial percentage of a large sum of money
to be transferred into your account, in return for your
"discretion" or "confidentiality";
Requests for signed and stamped, blank letterhead or invoices,
or for bank account information;
Requests for payment in advance of transfer taxes or other fees;
Statements that your name was provided to the soliciting party
either by someone you do not know or by "a very reliable
contact;"
Unsolicited calls asking if you would like to be in a "Lottery
pool";
Mail notifying you that you have already won a substantial sum
of money.

1. What do you want? Sounds like an obvious question but you'd
e surprised at how many people simply don't know the answer. Take five minutes and write a list of anything and everything you want. Then rank them in order of importance, taking into account that some desires might seem more important than others, but that certain things need to happen first. For instance, you might feel that owning your own home is the most important item, but you actually need to work on getting out of debt first. Next, take each item and answer the following questions.

2. Why do you want it? Consider carefully what motivates you towards this goal. Is this project your lifelong dream or something that your parents or society pushed onto your shoulders? Make sure you want it for the right reasons and not simply because it's something you think you should want.

3. What's the pay off? Write a list of all the benefits of reaching your goal, both emotional and physical. Can't come up with much? Reconsider why you want this goal at all. This list will play an important part in keeping you motivated and focused when the initial excitement about this project wears thin.

4. What needs to happen? Keep the pen and paper out. Write a list of every conceivable task that needs to happen to reach your goal. Get as specific as possible down to the last detail.

5. Who needs to know? Don't keep your goal a secret and don't do all the work alone. Computers and the Internet make it possible to turn into a "lone ranger" who relies only on him or herself to get the job done. Not only will this increase your chances of quitting (it's not a failure if no one knows about it), it makes your job ridiculously and unnecessarily difficult.

6. When will you do this? Another moment of truth—setting the deadline. You're not writing anything in stone, so don't freak out! After looking at your task list and considering who will help, estimate how long it will take to reach your goal. Note, studies show that people respond better to a shorter window of time. When the due date is too far off, it's easy to procrastinate and lose the motivational energy needed to push the project through to completion.

7. Why will you succeed? Everybody has strengths and weaknesses. Where do you shine and excel? You want to spend 80% of your time utilizing your strengths, whether that's organization, creativity, or negotiation. Next devote 15% of your time to learning and research and the final 5% on your weaknesses. Most importantly, know why you will succeed now at what you have never reached in the past.

8. Why will you fail? If you failed in the past because of fear, it's likely that the same fear will trip you up again. Take a bold look at the obstacles that have foiled you time and again and devise strategies to avoid, disable, or defeat them.

9. Who holds you accountable? You absolutely need someone in your corner to cheer you on and also to make sure you stay on track. Find someone positive who believes in you and give him the power to check on your progress. Consider hiring a professional life coach or consultant who can give you non-judgmental support and a kick in the pants at the same time.

10. How will you stay inspired? Chances are that the road might not run as smoothly as you would like. Things will go wrong. Results might trickle rather than flood to your door. Devise some tricks to help you stay motivated when the honeymoon is over. Post your pay off list where you can read it daily. Draw or cut out a picture of what this goal represents and combine it with a picture of you at your best. Add a daily reminder to your virtual calendar, cell phone, or refrigerator door to help you stay focused.

Answer these questions honestly and become your best asset instead of your biggest liability. The future begins today if you have the courage to envision and reach for it.

The Grand Adventures of

Ida and Liz

Two elderly women (Ida and Liz) were out driving in a large car - both could barely see over the dashboard. As they were cruising along, they came to an intersection. The stoplight was red, but they just went on through.

The Liz (in the passenger seat) thought to herself, "I must be losing it. I could have sworn we just went through a red light."

After a few more minutes, they came to another intersection and the l
ght was red again. Again, they went right through. Liz was almost sure that the light had been red but was really concerned that she was losing it. She was getting nervous.

At the next intersection, sure enough, the light was red and they went on through. So, she turned to the Ida and said, "Ida, did you know that we just ran through three red lights in a row? You could have killed us both!" Ida turned to Liz and said, "Oh, crap! Am I driving?"

Well they finally got to their destination. The two elderly ladies had been friends for many decades. Over the years, they had shared all kinds of activities and adventures. Lately, their activities had been limited to going to tea rooms a few times a week, and to playing cards. This day, they had gone to tea. After being there a while Liz looked at Ida and said, "Now don't get mad at me. I know we've been friends for a long time, but I just can't think of your name! I've thought and thought, but I can't remember it. Please tell me what your name is."

Well Ida just glared at her. For at least three minutes she just stared and glared at her. Finally she said, "How soon do you need to know?"

Anyway, before they could head home Liz thought she had to call 911 on her cell phone to report that the car has been broken into. She was hysterical as she explains the situation to the dispatcher: 'They've stolen the stereo, the steering wheel, the brake pedal and even the accelerator' she cried! The dispatcher said, "Stay calm. An officer is on the way." A few minutes later, the officer radios in. "Disregard," he says. "She got in the back-seat by mistake."

Ok so they started to head home with Liz driving this time. As she was driving down the freeway the car phone rang. Answering, she heard her grandson's voice urgently warning her, "Grandma-Liz, I just heard on the news that there's a car going the wrong way on Interstate 77. Please be careful!' "Heck baby boy, said Liz, It's not just one car. It's hundreds of them!" And so it goes.

If you read my previous article you will know that the goal of these articles is to teach you ways to get started making money online without having to spend any money.

This is the second in the series and this time we deal with having your own blog. There are endless ways of making money once you have traffic, and your blog will get you traffic. The income we will be looking at today will come from Google Adsense.

There are multiple benefits to having a blog including the low cost (or no cost), the resources that will help y
u get traffic to your blog and the fact that you can provide your blog as an RSS feed. An RSS feed will allow readers to automatically receive your updates into their RSS reader.

Let's get started with our 6 steps.

1. Set up your blog. You will need to decide what you are going to blog about. You should decide on a theme and name your blog appropriately.

There are a number of free ways to set up a blog & to have it hosted for free. We will go with Blogger.com for our first blog.

Blogger will allow you to set up a blog for free they will host it for free and they will ping search engines every time you update, meaning you will get spidered & found.

Visit blogger.com & click the button on the front page labelled 'create your blog now' then follow the step by step instructions that Blogger provide.

Some key settings you will want to get right are:

I) 'Host your blog at Blogger' = Yes
II) 'Add your blog to our listings' = Yes
III) 'Ping Weblogs.com' = Yes
IV) 'Publish Site Feed' = Yes

2. Write some content. Before we move any further there has to be some information on the site & that means that you have to make some entries. You can write some of these entries yourself & some can be quotes from sites of interest to your reader that you can post using the Google Toolbar.

You can download the Google toolbar for free at toolbar.google.com. The toolbar includes a Blogger button. When you visit a site that has something of interest to your readers you can highlight the appropriate text & click the Blogger button. The content will then be added to your blog along with a link back to the site.

3. Once you have some content eg a weeks worth of blogging with 1 or 2 entries for everyday, you can apply for an adsense account. When you sign in to Blogger you will see an invitation to join Adsense. Use this link and apply for an account.

You can find out all about Adsense on the Adsense page but basically you get Google ads on your site & get paid if your visitor clicks them.

Google will decide what adverts show on your site based on the content it finds within.

You need to be aware that Google will decline your application if your site is not considered to have content. Nobody outside of Google knows the precise rules on this.

Once you have been accepted you can get some javascript from Google to add to you site. Copy this & then log in to Blogger.

Once you have logged into your blog you will see that one of the tabs across the top of the screen is labelled 'Template'. Click this. You will need to know a little bit of HTML to help find the right location to paste your Google code. But with a little experimentation you will find the right place for you. See the resource box at the end of this article for more help.

I would suggest that the ads need to be seen when the site loads but should not be too obvious or dominate your site.

4. Write some more content. Try and keep your content coming at regular intervals as a number of directories will check on your site at regular intervals & the smarter ones will visit on a schedule based on your update schedule. They will probably determine this in the hours after you first submit to them. Which is what we will do next.

5. Submit your site to Blog & RSS directories. Because you are hosting at Blogger, Weblogs.com will already be notified when you update your blog. (That means that every time you make a new entry they are automatically notified) You will need to manually submit to the various other directories some of which will require a link on your site to theirs.

6. Keep writing interesting content. Ideally you want people to come back again and again. As with customers its harder to get a new visitor than to keep existing visitors. So make it interesting, in fact make it so interesting that they can't help but tell all their friends about it also.

As with most free ways to make money this will take time to get going, but if you can build a following you will make money.

Mug shots. When you get testimoni
ls coming in, or even if you ask for them, remember to ask for a photo as well. In this day and age it's really not difficult to get a photo scanned and converted to a JPEG. They can then email it to you. If this is a problem for them ask them to mail one in so you can scan it in yourself. Then do the honourable thing and send it back to them with a polite 'thank you' note. Both your website and your prospects willingness to buy will be enhanced by this simple technique.

Add A Signature. I'm always disappointed when I get to the end of a testimonial, only to find there is a simple text signature. OK, I can understand that some people might be reluctant to let their signature be openly seen in the public domain, but it is well worth asking for a scanned JPEG or an original by post, in the same way as for photos (above). A signature lets your prospective buyer know that here is a real person who rates your product and will feel more at ease as a result.

Video Clips. Let's face it; video clips are THE thing on the web these days. Everybody's doing it. If your testimonial giver has a webcam ask them to do a brief video of around 30 to 60 seconds and email it to you. Otherwise you are going in blind and chances are you will not succeed or at best it will be very difficult to gain a foothold in the business. By knowing your competition, you will be able to see what type of pricing. While we all dream of building that website that will be a home run, and make us rich, here's an easier way to establish a dependable income stream.

It's a lot easier to set up
a simple website that generates just $10 - $20 profit per day. Imagine if you had 100 of these. That would be $1000 - $2000 per day. That would be $365,000 - $730,000 per year. Now that $10 to $20 per site, per day, doesn't sound so small does it.

This is sort-of like own a vending machine route. The route owner realizes that no one of his machines is likely to make him wealthy. However, week after week, the cumulative sales from a route of... say 100 machines... provides a very nice living for him and his family. I do know people who own vending machine routes, and they do earn above average incomes.

Getting back to setting up these website "vending machines." It doesn't have to be very complicated. In fact most of us make things so complicated in our minds that we never even get started.

Let me give you a plan for setting up one site a day over the next month. We need to get you to commit to yourself that you won't make excuses. We need to get you to commit to yourself that you won't look for reasons why it "might not work." Instead, you need to decided that it can work, and then just do it.

Here is your fast and easy plan for the next 30 days:

1) Identify 30 profitable niches, or topics, that you can build a simple website around. To make it really simple, these can be websites of only a few pages. I'd recommend a homepage which can be a direct sales page, or a blog. Off to the side you can post some articles related to your topic that you can write yourself, or find on a site like EzineArticles.com The articles, or blogs, are "search engine bait" and are what will bring in free traffic for you.

2) Locate 30 products that you can market from these websites. Ideally, these will be digital products that you earn a very high commission on. To make that even easier, let me GIVE you 30 products that you can (with just a little reworking) market as your own new and unique products.

In the menu bar you want to post a prominent link for ordering your product.

If you do make your homepage a blog, you also want to set up another direct sales pages, on the same domain, whose only purpose is to sell the product.

Each time that you post to your WordPress blog it will "ping" the search engines, notifying them that you've updated your site, and the search engine spiders will come and re-index your entire site.

On a semi-regular schedule you want to post to your blog. Those posts can just be a new article, or really... anything pertaining to your topic.

6) To "plug in" additional traffic you want to write short (400 - 1000 word) articles on your topic, or product reviews, and submit those to article directories. In the resource boxes of those articles, link back to your homepage. People reading those articles will click through to your site, and the search engine will also follow those links back to your site.

This is a very simple formula that DOES work. I use it regularly. Please don't over-complicate things.

You basically need a product that solves a pressing problem, and you need to make it easy for those who want it to find and purchase it. I've just told you how to do that, and I've told you how to do it for practically nothing.

As with anything, read the fine print.  Try to avoid plans that charge late fees (yes, they're out there), and select a plan with a mailing center in your area of the country for quicker turnaround.

Your company logo is the cornerstone of your entire marketing strategy, if your current identity is looking a little tired now may be the best time to address this. While it may seem superficial, a well designed identity incorporating good logo design will promote an image of experienced capability and encourage trust with prospective customers.

The majority of large corporations all have a well designed and consistent identity, this is not because they are the only ones who can afford it, it's because they understand the importance of it.

A well designed identity says you are serious about your business, confident in it, believe in it! Would you turn-up to the most important business meeting of your life in a pair of tatty old jeans and a t-shirt?

Most businesses feel duty bound to provide a website, but many are redundant add-ons that provide little or no income.

Does the design convey an image that says, we are a professional business who can fulfill your requirements and you can trust? Does the site have a look and feel that is appropriate to your industry? Is it better than your competitors? If the answer to any of these questions is no then you need to address them.

Mark Wade, a Center City Philadelphia Realtor talks about an idea for converting the southernmost 25% of the Curtis Center into luxury condominiums. Aren't we all gurus in our own personal sort of ways. Think of your closest circle of friends. We all know a yoga guru and an art guru. I tend to think of myself as a potential Philadelphia real estate condom
nium conversion guru. I spend alot of my free time, and have for most of my life, thinking about which buildings in town might potentially be the best place for luxurious living, should that particular building be converted to condominiums in Center City Philadelphia.

And here is my conclusion: The Curtis Center, particularly the southernmost 25% of the beautiful Center City building sitting on the northwest corner of 6th and Walnut Streets.

The shear window space is breathtaking. Consider that if this portion of the Curtis Center was converted into high end luxury condominiums, the sales pitch:

*All units with over sized windows

*All Living rooms would have a southern exposure

*Almost all bedrooms would have a southern exposure

*All units would overlook beautiful Washington Square Park

*All units could have indoor garage parking

*All penthouse units could have stunning southern exposure views of the square

*Roughly 10% of the units also face Independence Hall Park

*One of the most stunning historical buildings in Center City Philadelphia

*Fabulous Location!!

In addition, I would consider making the units fairly large. I would sell no unit for less than $1,000,000, and range up to say $7,000,000. Every unit would have at least 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. They could possibly have random width pine wood flooring throughout and definitely stainless steel high-end appliances by Viking, Bosch, Wolf, Sub-Zero, and Miele. The kitchens and bathrooms would also have subway tile and granite counters. The ability to provide the individual Penthouse units with luxurious private garden space could be invaluable with Pottery Barn Living Room Furniture now made for outdoors.

A walkout to a private deck and large shelved walkin closets would be a nice touch to the master bedroom. A closet organization system, similar to California Closets would be an example of an upgrade that I would offer as a standard ingredient in each unit. Philadelphia Condos are notoriously cheap on their closet space (as a whole), and underestimating the value of a large, well-organized set of closets is something builders of Center City Philadelphia Lofts and Condos have been doing for years.

Also I would make the building as "green" as possible. I am sure that this magnificent building would provide fabulous ceiling height in each unit for cathedral ceilings with ceiling fans. I would add high-efficiency heating and cooling systems as well as panels that would double as sunshades and solar power generators. There would be a lot of incoming natural light from the large windows that would also accent the intricate moldings throughout each loft. I would cut the curb on the north side of Walnut Street, at the entrance to this building to allow for about a half dozen car "loading zone" parking with valet service. The owners would even have the convenience of a full-time on-site 24-hour concierge...and of course this would be a pet-friendly Philadelphia Condominium.

I have started to play the Pennsylvania lotto lately. Should I win say $250,000,000 or more, you can be sure that the southernmost 25% of the Curtis Center will be the latest and greatest Philadelphia condominium conversion project to hit the market!

3 infallible money rules to assist anyone seeking personal and financial freedom.

As a free agent, my strongest desire is for my personal freedom. I seek to interact with the world on my terms, spending my time with the people I desire when I desire doing what I want when I want to do it.

People may seek free agency because they desire greater creative leeway than they experienced in Corporate America, maybe they just want to be their own boss or have the flexibility to be with their families more. Whatever the reaso
for free agency, all free agents must understand the rules of money if they are to be successful in the world as a free agent.

Money is an expression of life force and energy and as such it follows very specific laws...rules and regulations.

Everybody has their own money rules, but these rules may not be the actual rules of money.

As an example someone may have a "rule" about saving. Money follows thought, feelings and actions in that order. This is why a person who has persistent thoughts and feelings about poverty will never learn to live a rich life no matter how many actions they take to save money. In fact, a person whose thoughts are dominated by feelings of poverty and lack may find that no matter how well-intentioned their actions toward money "something" always happens to prevent them from accumulating money.

During my journey as a free agent I have discovered 3 infallible rules of money:

1) You must have a purpose for your money. If you do not have a purpose for money, money will leave your hands and wind up in the hands of a person who does. Yikes!!! The implications of this law are staggering. Subsistence living and paying your bills is not good enough. The people who focus on paying their bills as their highest purpose for money rarely have enough to pay their bills. Your purpose for money must be authentic for you. If you decide your purpose for money is to give a large sum to a charity, but you do not give regular energy in terms of thought, feeling and action to tithing or charitable giving, that purpose is not authentic for you and it is the same as having no purpose for money. That authentic purpose can be as simple as taking your family on vacation or paying off your home. So the law is you must have a purpose for money that is authentic for you.

2) You must pay yourself first. By not paying yourself first, you are saying on a thought, feeling and emotional level that you have no value in your money equation. When I began paying myself first, I went from believing I could not save a dime to saving $50 dollars every 2 weeks. That was quite some time ago. Now, let's just say, things are quite different. You must start somewhere, just to build the belief that you can do it. Then save according to your purpose for money. The more you save, you may find that your purpose for money changes a bit. It may become bigger, broader, that's great! So, rule number 2 is pay yourself first.

3) You must spend consciously. Now what in blazes does that mean? Well it means that when money leaves your hand, you know why it is leaving your hand and you understand its connection to your purpose for money. What that may look like in actual practice is that if your purpose for money is to take your kids to Disney World by the time your oldest is 13, you may make different spending choices each time money leaves your hand. In fact, with that purpose in mind, you may seek higher value propositions for each item you purchase and in situations where you might have spent money in the past you may choose to retain that money in favor of situations that support your purpose for money. Most people spend money on an unconscious level without a purpose or plan. A recent article on CNN money showed that the average American loses track of $50-60 dollars per week. In a nation where the average American has a negative savings rate, that fact is staggering. Taking into account the number of working adults in America that is literally a loss of over $2 billion dollars per year. A quick jump over to Hugh's Calculators shows that consciously putting that "lost" money into a savings account at 5% amounts to $300, 000 dollars over a working lifetime. On an individual level that loss can easily mean the difference between a comfortable retirement or one depending solely on social security. So rule number 3 is spend consciously in total awareness of your purpose for money.

Free Agency is an absolute joy to live for it truly gives each of us the opportunity to live according to our highest creative potential and personal freedom. However to successfully navigate the waters of free agency, you must understand and use the rules of money on your journey.

en breathtaking. "Aero Index" started 11 years ago as a reference book and quickly established itself as a standard work of reference for the aircraft, airline, avionics and MRO maintenance repair and overhaul industries. Airline buyers, aircraft designers, spares and parts buyers, vendors and dealers all used it to source the nuts and bolts of aircraft. Nothing more than a list of contact names and addresses of suppliers and subcontractors, in both alphabetical order and classified order (by product or service), its currency was its accuracy and its comprehensiveness. Convenience for AOG services was also an asset.

 

For a "global" industry, the challenge back then was to produce a European directory that was so good, it  would have worldwide appeal... worldwide content was impossible to contain within the one volume, without bursting the binding (too much information, too difficult to research and keep up-to-date). Airbus, however, was now established as a European aircraft manufacturer to rival Boeing, so there was a demand for accurate databases of European suppliers.

Aircraft manufacturers prior to this period had been decreasing in number and those that were most successful were beginning to use computer technology to "manage" supplier bases... increased emphasis on competitiveness leading to tighter and tighter constriction of the industry and its sub-contractors, both civil and military, fixed wing and rotary.

 

The pace of change again meant that Aero Index, the book, would never on its own entirely achieve its goal of being the preferred source of information for every single aspect of the industry, the world wide web was now beginning to be a worthy competitive source of the same information.

How could FBOs or MRO facilities wanting to provide "one-stop shop" services fail to see the benefits of such information when pressed for time?  The challenge now was to use the search engines as the marketing tool for the business, to ensure prominence in the commonest searches so that http://www.aviation-database.com and sister sites would be saved to "favourites" all over the world , a process of creating awareness, of education.

 

The next chapter in this story we know already, making the electronic directory fully portable on cd-rom.. but what of the future? ... Palm-top computers fully equipped to surf the web, giving us the opportunity to provide information instantly to the boardroom table or the meeting room, wherever that might be....developing the technical content of the database to allow the researcher to search by part number?

Networking online is something you should do when you have a website. It's a good way for people to know your business is online. Building trust is the only way people will feel comfortable purchasing from you. When you network online properly, you will build that trust.

• Networking offline

Online businesses should have business cards as well. You can include these cards with each order, create packs and include them, send to others to give out, or leave them in places that you go each day or week. You can leave them with a tip in the hotel room or restaurant, give them to people when you are standing in line at the grocery store, or give them to someone sitting in a waiting room with you.

• Pay Per Click

Pay Per Click is done through search engines like Google. You pay for an ad that appears on the right side of the screen. You list words that are key to your business or website. When people do searches on those words, you ad will show up. You are charged for each click on your ad. You have control of the amount of money you spend and the words that are associated with your ad.

When you start out in a new business, you want to get the word out to as many people as you can. These suggestions are good to use for the long haul. They are not specific to a new or old business. Document what you do and what works so you know for the future.

If you are one of the tens of thousands of people that are considering a business on the internet, then your first logical question is, "Can I actually make good money online? Is all this stuff the supposed people in the know spout about financial freedom really possible? More to the point, is it easy so even I can do it?"

Well I'm here to tell you that not only is it possible, but it is, in fact easy. You just need to follow certain steps on a consistent, daily basis. So let's begin...

First of all, the only th
ng we are doing is advertising on the internet. Learning how to market on the internet is the most important skill you can learn on the internet. Learn that, and you can grow any business online and write your own ticket.

So the first question becomes,"How do we do that?" There are several ways. But first, we ask ourselves,"Do I want to advertise for free, or pay to get traffic?" If you are doing it the free way, there is:

- Video using either a camcorder or screen capture
- Writing articles
- Posting on free classifieds
- Posting in forums with a link to your business in your resource box
- Writing on a Search Engine Optimized blog
- Setting up social content sites like Hubpages, Squidoo, Wetpaint, etc., with links back to your opportunity

These few strategies will get you good traffic for free. Although it is free, it will take a little (not a lot) of time in setting them up. Now, if you have a little cash to start and want to get traffic rolling right away, there are paid advertising mediums. Here are a few:

- Pay Per Click
- Ezine advertising
- Email marketing using Autoresponders to establish a relationship with your list (most important tactic, by the way).

So after you learn how to use the techniques I just mentioned (not hard at all, and fun, too), then it is time to put it to good use. If you are an affiliate, then chances are good that they have supplied you with a sales page or capture page.

Use this page and drive the traffic methods that you are armed with to this page. Simple, right? Many do this and make a killing. But there is a better way....

Set up a sales page of your own with email capture embedded on it. Give away something of value that the visitor would enjoy that is related to the offer you have. This can be a PLR product that can be bought for like $10. You will give this away to your visitors in exchange for the name and email address.

Now that you have the email address, you can market not only this opportunity you have, but any other opportunity that is related to this on the internet. Become an affiliate of several products in that niche, and advertise those as well. This is how the real players do it.

But don't just pitch on every email. Give free content to your subscribers, and mix the products in from time to time. Over time, as your list increases, so does your income.

All over the United States, as well as in the State of California, Americans began developing labor laws during the industrial age to set standards of what was acceptable in the work place. During this time in our country, child labor and 16 hour days without breaks were commonplace. As time progressed, workers began to stand up for their rights in their workplace, fostering the progress that has been made through the judiciary system and improving working conditions. Today, the end result can be seen in the form of highly specific Californi
labor laws which are designed to protect the employee and hold the employer accountable. This does not necessarily mean that violations and infractions no longer occur, but todays workplace environment is a far cry from what employees suffered through during the industrial age. California labor law attorneys are always at the ready to assist workers being abused by non complying employers.


The California employee break laws are specific about what is expected of the employer, yet every year hundreds of workers contact California employment lawyers to file a complaint against their employers. Oftentimes the employer will send the employee home a half an hour early to make up for the missed meal break. Or some employers will have the employee take their break during the first half hour of work. These are common violations of California employee break laws and anyone who has been a victim should speak to California labor law attorneys to get the right representation and discuss a potential claim.


California employee break laws clearly outline what is expected of the employer as far as how often and when breaks should be administered to employees. For instance, the 30 minute break, often referred to as the meal break, is to be given within in the first 5 hours of work if the employee is scheduled to work longer than 6 hours. Furthermore, it is to be given for every 5 hour period the employee works. So if you work 10 hours in one day you are entitled to two thirty minute breaks. Lastly, these meal breaks must be uninterrupted. If you were not given your breaks properly your employer is required to compensate you for your time. Contacting California employment lawyers is a necessary step to claim the money that is owed to you.


California employees often consult California labor law attorneys to file complaints against their employers for violating California labor laws with respect to their 10 minute breaks as well. California employee break laws state that, for every 4 hours of work the employee is entitled to a10 minute break. By law the employer is not required to record these breaks and is also not required to pay the employee for these breaks. However, some employers choose to pay their employees. The two most common courses of action the employee can take if they feel their employment right have been violated is to contact either the California Labor Board or California employment lawyers.


In the state of California, the burden of proof is on the Employer. This means that anytime the employer is brought to court on allegations of violating California labor laws it is the employers responsibility to prove that they are not guilty of such accusations. If the employer is unable to do so, it is assumed that the allegations are of merit and the court will then determine to what extent the worker should be compensated. Also, its important to note that as an employee, you have up to 4 years to have California labor law attorneys file a complaint with the court. Keep in mind that the California Labor board will usually only go back 3 years. Regardless of how the employee decides to air their grievances and seek resolution, the important thing is to stand up to employers who are taking advantage of their employees by violating California labor laws.

There's the pressure to complete projects, plan for 2002 and so many extra invitations. Getting Organised for The Silly Season



#1 What Have You Achieved This Year?

Take stock. Did you reach your goals this year?

What will you do differently next year? Write out a list of where you are now and what you want to achieve by Xmas 2002. How will you do that? Have a list of personal and business goals. Write a completion date next to each goal. (See How to Keep Your New Year's Resolutions Vol.3.18 for further details on goalsetting).



#2 Plan and Organise Your Training for 2002

What skills do you and your team need to improve? Organise it now so you can start the New Year with a bang. Perhaps a "Get Organised for Success in 2002" workshop or seminar presented by yours truly (that's me). You'll learn simple, easy to implement strategies, which will motivate you and the troops to take action and kick some serious butt. A great way to crank up the New Year.



#3 Plan Your Holiday

Do it now! Where are you going to go to replenish your work-worn body? Maybe you can stay at home, visit a few friends, lie on the beach and veg out.



#4 Shopping

Write a list to whom you want to send a card, gift or both. Take your list with you. Break your shopping into smaller excursions. Dedicate one lunchtime or evening looking for specific groups of people, i.e. friends, family, colleagues.



If you really want to make life easier, shop in one department store rather than spend endless hours searching the city for those elusive "perfect" gifts. Gift vouchers are also a great idea. In fact they make absolute commonsense. The recipient will be able to use the voucher in the post Xmas sales and probably purchase twice as much!



Alternatively, don't leave the office...shop on-line.



#5 The Inevitable Invitations

Use a diary and enter all the festivities you intend to go to. If you receive an invitation for two parties on the same day, make an executive decision and decide which one is the most important for you to attend.



# 6 Watch the Waistline

Avoid the blimp syndrome. If you're one of the millions who get depressed about the extra kilos you carry at this time of year, then be more selective at functions. Instead of stuffing yourself with the fattiest food ever known to mankind, choose healthier options. Keep the booze count down as well. Many careers have been damaged at Xmas functions. Make sure it's not yours.



The Final Word

Implement these simple, yet very effective ideas and you'll breeze through the silly season. You'll be able to have a few days/weeks off knowing that you know where you're heading in the New Year and in full control of your life.

Your body will be kept in fairly reasonable shape so you can have a head start when you embark on that inevitable fitness regime, the one you've kept putting off until Xmas has blown over.

You can proclaim a child-like belief in the spirit of Christmas with a t shirt design such as this one:  the archetypal cheery Santa's face beams up at you, with the simple message thereof: 'I believe'.  Then again the t shirt design does not even have to have any words to convey the message of good tidings for the season. A cheerful snowman in his trademark striped muffler aptly conveys a message.

The thrill of anticipation of Father Christmas's arrival is something that a child would love wear in the form of a t shirt.
