As an operator of a website you often hear and read about having fresh, quality site content. What exactly is site content and is it really just all about articles and the information contained in articles, or is there more?

It is true that site content is primarily made up of articles and textual information. Look at just about any site on the Internet and you will find that most of the content requires the site visitor to read to understand what is being offered up.

Yet, thought this is true there are some
ther mediums that should be considered when building content for your website. Before we get to the other content types we should consider how the different ways people think and learn. Some learn best by reading, others by viewing and others by interaction. Knowing this will help you when deciding which type of content you should include on your site.

Here are three examples of content that can be used to deliver your message.

Textual Content – Content that is great for getting a lot of detailed information out can be descriptive and paint a word picture of the message you want to convey.

Video Content – Very hot content delivery method. Many visitors are comfortable with video having grown up with it. Great for building immediate rapport with the viewer. The message is dependant on the quality and length of the video. One consideration is that if your audience is world wide, not all visitors will have powerful enough computers to display video.

Graphic Content – Content that delivers a message through pictures. This can be art, cartoons or anything with visual appeal. The graphic should be consistent with your sites theme.

As you read this article you will certainly become aware of other content that is available and can be used to enhance the look and feel of your particular website. The challenge for you is to find the happy medium between having text, video and graphic content. A purely bland website has only one and might not be inspiring enough for a visitor to hang around.

I have had a lot of people recently asking me "Is there such a thing as fast money making online?" The answer is a little more complicated than a simple "yes" or "No"

There are countless ways to make money online, everything from selling on eBay, to selling your photos, to Affiliate marketing. However there are also a lot of scams out there that claim to make you money on the internet in no time flat with a large residual income.

Affiliate Marketing is one of the most popular fast money making online
strategies. An Affiliate is someone who advertises a product online and gets paid when a consumer uses their advertisement link to buy the product. There are a lot of different strategies for Affiliates these days. Some programs are using pay per click with Google ad words, some use email lists, and others use free methods in the form of article marketing. All of these methods take time to master but are a solution to fast money making online.

Don't believe the hype! There are a lot of programs for sale on the internet that claim to make you a ridiculous income in a very short amount of time. If it seems too good to be true it probably is. For the beginner, there will be a learning curve in any business, but even if a program claims "Fast money making online" it doesn't mean that it is a scam.

Here is why.

The people that sell fast money making online programs are in business to sell their product and often they will mentor people to create the success stories that you see on their website. That is why they can say that you will make a ton of money in one week, because it is possible, not probable but possible. In fact on average it will take you two weeks to a month to start making a bit of income online if you are following a good program. As you continue to grow your business and learn, you returns will become much greater. So, how do you know what to look for in a good program?

1.Find a program with an action plan. A plan will give you step by step instructions and will help you succeed quicker.

2. Good Support. Good support is essential to succeed. You will run into problems and have questions no matter how well the information is explained. Look for a program that has a dedicated forum for its users. You should not have to pay for support!!

3. Education. Education is the meat of most programs. They should offer you ample educational resources. You should also not have to pay for additional books. Make sure to find a Fast money making online program that has everything included in one price.

4. Price. don't pay too much! Personally I would not spend more than 70 dollars on any product that is currently on the market. Make sure that they have a money back guarantee included with the program.

So to answer the question: YES their is such a thing as fast money making online! However they will normally take you about two weeks to a month to start seeing profits. Be aware of any program that does not contain an action plan, good support and adequate education. Happy hunting!

Follow the contained link to 3 programs that I highly recommend. They are all a bit different from each other but they all contain the main keys that will help you succeed. If you click on each program you will be directed to their main website which each have a bunch of information. Happy hunting!! http://www.netbasedbusinessreview.com

If you write articles then you also write resource boxes. Do
you think much about what you put in your resource box? In
fact, do you think much about the resource box at all?

If not, then you should. It is probably the most important part
of your article!

But what should you put in your resource box?

Here are 3 effective techniques to use your resource box to its
maximum potential. Remember, the resource box is a call to
action. Write it so your reader takes action. That action
should be either to
send an email or visit a web site.

1. Join Your Newsletter

Write a couple of different resource boxes that enable people
to subscribe to your newsletter. Make sure you have sign up
instructions, a link back to your web site (where they can sign
up there if they want to) and try to give something away for
free. Telling your visitor they are going to get something for
free when they sign up is a great way to encourage subscribers
to subscribe.

All this information needs to go in the resource box so make it
compact and catchy.

2. Sell Something

Got something to sell?

Tell everyone about it in your resource box. Make sure you
include a link back to the particular page in your site where
you sell the product or service. Make it as easy as possible
for them to purchase. Also make sure you include your email
address in the resource box so people can contact you for more
information.

3. Promote Your Affiliate Program

If you are in an affiliate program, you can promote it in your
resource box. Have a link to the product or service itself, or
better still, provide a link back to your web site that then
redirects to the affiliate program site. You will need to set
up a separate page to do this.

However, make sure the affiliate program site you are promoting
ties in with the content of your article.

The resource box is a powerful but underused marketing tool. By
using a number of pre-written resource boxes in these 3 key
areas you can put your resource box on autopilot.

This will mean more traffic, more subscribers, more affiliate
commissions and more sales!

The Science Of Selling

Posted by Admin | 7:09 PM

Whether you are pitching a proposal to a prospective client or writing copy for your web site, it is necessary to understand the science of selling.
In spite of what most people believe, selling is a science. And whether your know it or not, you are probably using some of the techniques of this science without even realizing it. Let's take a look at a few of the most powerful of these techniques.

Know your market
In all areas of sales, it is critical to understand the values and desires of your target market. What are thei
likes and dislikes? Are they motivated by price? Perceived value? Desire for status? Do they behave in a consistent manner? Tailor your pitch based on the information you gather about your audience.

Adapt to your market
If your audience is visually oriented, include lots of pictures in your presentation. If they are cut to the chase types include charts, graphs or bullet lists to summarize your most important points.

Listen to your market
Selling is not about talking, it is about listening. We have all dealt with the salesperson who goes on and on with their pitch, never really listening to our questions or objections. Do you buy from a person like this? Most of us won't. Listening is the key to the next technique.

Address their concerns
A serious prospect, one who is really interested will have some questions or concerns. Use the concerns of your audience to emphasize the strong points in your pitch. Pay attention to the words they use and echo these words in your responses.

Be prepared
Yes, I know it is the motto of the Boy Scouts. When the founder of the Scouting movement, Lord Baden-Powell, was asked what one should "be prepared" for, he replied, "For any old thing." This is excellent advice when applied to selling. Clients can be unpredictable. If you are prepared, this unpredictability can lead to many new opportunities.

Close, close, close
The best sales pitch in the world will be for nothing if you do not ask for the sale. People are not offended by someone asking for their business. They are used to it, they even expect it. So ask. In my coaching experience, this is the area where most clients fall short. Whether your use an overt close, such as, "Click here to purchase" or a more subtle approach, like, "Why not give us a try?", no technique is more powerful than asking for the sale.

These techniques are most effective when used in concert. They require effort and practice to be able to leverage their full potential, so take the time to study them. Look at your sales efforts, identify areas of strength and areas that could use a boost. Apply these techniques to the weak areas and put the science of selling to work for you.

Have you ever wondered what the difference is? MLM operators claim they're not operating a pyramid scheme. Matrix and "forced matrix" operators claim that what they have is better than MLM. So what are the differences?

Pyramid Schemes:

Pyramid Schemes are illegal in the USA, and probably abroad. We all know how these schemes work, or at least get the jist of the idea. A person (the originator) starts by sending a message to several people. Usually people he/she knows. The message in some round about way, will tel
everyone to send him $5 or so...and then send the message to someone else. All the while adding names to the list, and each new recipient must send money to the first person, second person...etc

There are a million variations of the Pyramid Scheme, but the main attribute that define a pyramid scheme ( also known as chain letter) is that there is no product, it's just people sending money. The term "Pyramid Scheme" is derived from the fact that it starts with one and the size of those involved increases as you move towards the bottom. On paper, it looks like the shape of a triangle, or pyramid.

Multi Level Marketing:

How is MLM different from a pyramid scheme? After all, on paper any MLM looks like a pyramid in reality right? The differences are very simple. In MLM there is a product being sold. Income is generated from "commissions". It's actually a pyramid scheme, except that the participants get something back...regardless of whether the people they refer actually pay for something...

In MLM, the participant always gains from their investment. The catch is in the value of the product that the participant receives. This is the reason that MLM is so big on the internet. Because, information can have a monetary value, and it cost the distributor nothing. So ebooks, software, newsletters...etc... these are the most common products used in MLM. MLMers have added tangible products as well, and home products were the first to use MLM as a primary marketing strategy.

The Forced Matrix:

With so many MLM programs on the market these days, originators have tried to make their programs more desirable than others. Hence the forced matrix idea. In a regular MLM program, your monetary gains are based entirely on how good you are at marketing the program. However, most people arent' very good. So it would benefit the less talented if they had help from the talented. Basically, if the number of people who can join under you is limited in any way...then it's a forced matrix. The idea being, anyone else you refer extra..will go under someone else. The best implementations put the extra person under one of the people YOU have under YOU. Hence it helps the person under you, which helps you too.

The term is tossed around a bit, and sometimes not used at all. However, that is what defines a forced matrix. Sometimes numbers are used to describe a forced matrix more thoroughly....like "4 X 4 forced matrix" for instance. Which might mean that you can only have 4 people directly under you and only 4 people under those 4 who you recieve commissions from.

There is a hi-bred idea that has become common now, where by a person can deliberately place a referral in another line of their choice. A sort of traffic control attribute that helps originators get their referrals interested. This has been an attempt to make regular MLM more appealing, and it has worked. In fact, forced matrix MLMers have even implemented the option in their own programs.

The benefits of either are about equal. With a forced matrix, you stand to earn an income faster, but increases in income are slower because your referrals get forced further down the line from you. With regular MLM you have a stronger base, and sustaining it is generally easier...but first profits can be slow. If you want a little income faster, go with a forced matrix. If you want BIG profits and are willing to work a long time for it, go with regular MLM programs.

There are many different styles of promotional bags to reward loyal customers or attract new ones.

Promotional bags offer many benefits for companies wishing to raise their profile and increase their brand recognition. This can be achieved by using bags as giveaways to potential customers at trade shows and exhibitions, as goodie bags for delegates at conferences, for internal promotional incentives or as corporate gifts to show appreciation to loyal customers.

Bags have the ability to fulfil all promotional needs,
egardless of the budget. They start at under ฃ1 each, which is ideal when the marketing objective calls for a product able to provide an instant but short term impact, and go right up the price spectrum to designer bags of superior quality, delivering high class marketing solutions.

As well as covering all the price points, promotional bags are available in an extensive range of styles, colours and materials. Some of the most popular types are: promotional backpacks, laptop bags, conference bags, travel bags, sports bags, tote bags and cooler bags. Each of these has its own unique features and benefits, with the final selection dependent not only on cost but also the profile of the target market.

All promotional bags lend themselves perfectly to personalisation with a company's logo or message onto the large print areas front and back. This is usually done by screen printing, transfer print, embroidery, foil blocking or blind embossing.

Another key benefit is the fact that promotional bags do not always have to be standard off-the-shelf items. Customised bespoke bags can accommodate a company's individual promotional design specifications, for little or no extra cost.

My blog readers know I am always looking for easy ways to make a few bucks here and a few bucks there without doing a ton of work. The PPP revolution is kicking off in February of 2008. It's free to sign up and takes advantage of the switch by advertisers from the Major TV networks to small websites and blogs on the web. What is PPP? It's "Pay Per Play". Essentially it's a 5-second audio ad that plays as soon as your website or blog is opened by a visitor. Each ad is tied to your content, much like Google Adsense, excep
the visitor doesn't have to click anything. It is truly auto pilot at its best. In a hurry? See my Author Box below. I am a former broadcast journalist. I predicted that the TV networks were going to see a drop in viewers with the advent of Cable TV. That was a no-brainer. But, I also predicted that they would lose ad revenue to Cable and to the Internet as more and more homes hooked up to both. Unfortunately for me, I never thought of how to capitalize on the shift that has taken place as I predicted. In recent years, advertisers have been secretly placing products and ads in Hollywood movies through computer editing. They have gone back through older movies and, by computer editing, inserted products and ads that were not there in the original version of the flick. They are usually in the backround but visible nonetheless. Now, thanks to some shrewd thinkers, PPP has been developed and major advertisers are signing up in droves. It launches in February of 2008 but, for a limited time, they are signing up website and blog owners right now. The more they can get to sign up, the more they can charge for ad placement, the more money website and blog owners can earn for doing absolutely nothing. You can bet that slots will fill fast. Several of my webmaster friends signed up the same day I told them about it and they are contacting their email lists as I write this. There is a concern about annoying website/blog visitors. I placed their "test" file on one of my blogs for a week and got zero negative feedback because the ad only plays for 5 seconds. But, if your particular audience objects, you can simply remove PPP. They claim (but don't name) that one of the top five search engines has partnered with PPP. This should benefit websites and blogs who are signed up with PPP just as Google Adsense does. Of course, that remains to be seen but, since sign up is free, there is nothing to lose. PPP works on a bid management system similar to Google Adwords and will compensate publishers just like Google Adsense but with one critical difference - website and blog owners will earn revenue on 100% of their traffic with no clicks necessary! In case you don't know what Adwords is about, it's a program where advertisers bid on keywords that visitors are likely to click on when those keywords are searched or put in an advertisement. Part of the amount they pay, when their ad is clicked, gets paid to the website or blog owner who allows the ad to appear. PPP does exactly the same thing but without the clicks by visitors.

What Is A Payment Processor?

Posted by Admin | 7:58 PM

Payment processors store your money in the form of e currency. E-currency is the online value of your money in the form of dollar or euro etc.

These payment processors provide a platform to store and spend your money. The balance can be spent on various programs like HYIP or Forex or PTC and many more. Or the balance can be used to get a lot of products online and pay through the digital currency rather than credit cards and demand drafts. And for providing such service they charge you some fee on every transaction that is made. The fe
is mostly on the money you receive and not on the money you send. This is how digital currencies work.

Various merchants (online sites which have a business like HYIP or Forex etc are called so) encourage their members to use these processors as they can pay you for your activity into these processors only.

A few payment processors ask for verification using your Credit card or your Id details these are online payment processors which are more like online banks. But a few processors which are better called digital currencies don't need any verification. Both of them have difference in their working, which will be discussed later.

There are various methods to transfer your balance to your banks. A few online payment processors have direct transfer to your bank account, with a little fee depending on how much you want to transfer. A few more payment processors, digital currencies, don't have the option of direct wire transfer to your bank instead you can exchange your balance with a lot of exchangers that are available in the site and the exchanger will have his own fee and they will directly deposit it into your account.

The Myth of Sunk Costs

Posted by Admin | 7:58 PM

Having problems dealing with sunk costs and the time you have spent on this project and that investment?  Be unreasonable and make each decision as if there were no past attached.Having problems dealing with sunk costs and the time you have spent on this project and that investment?  Be unreasonable and make each decision as if there were no past attached.

Have you ever heard the expression, "Throwing good money after bad?"

Have you ever worked on something you knew was a bad idea, yet continued t
pour time and energy into it? And every time you tried to stop yourself from going forward, you said, "but I've got so much put into it!"

When we make decisions about the future, many of us base a good part of our analysis on the resources we have invested thus far. It's a natural thing to do; you've put time, energy, money, perhaps other things - and perhaps most important, your reputation - on the line, and it's quite reasonable to consider the totality of that investment when thinking about what you do next.

Actually, it isn't.

It isn't reasonable at all.

The only reasonable thing that to consider is the impact of your actions on the future.

Say you've spent the last several years and a bunch of money into a venture that simply isn't performing as you hoped. You haven't hit any of your success marks, and in fact, you're not sure the project is worth anything at all. So by and by a new opportunity comes along - one that is filled with potential, and in some ways seems like a perfect match. But you have difficulty letting go and jumping in. Something's holding you back and that something is the specter of sunk costs.

You feel like you shouldn't just walk away from all the cash and time you've already invested. You feel as if everything you've put in should somehow make the venture worth something.

I've got bad news for you...

It doesn't.

The venture may be worth something, but its value has nothing to do with how much you've spent to date. It is worth what it is worth, and for good, bad or otherwise, the amount of money, time... whatever... has nothing to do with it.

That's the fallacy of sunk costs.

Sunk costs are sunk.

They are gone.

They are spent.

The assets you've created may have some surplus value, like unused inventory. Or they may have salvage value, and just like the 5-1/2 tons of gold bullion on the HMS Edinburgh, that value might be quite large. You wouldn't just walk away from assets with salvage value like that. But in many cases the value of your sunk costs is a tiny fraction of the original price.

No matter the value, none of this has anything to do with decisions about actions you will take today, tomorrow and the next day, which must be weighed on the merits of highest and best use.

Ask yourself the question, "What is the highest and best use of my time?" or "What use of my time will make the greatest contribution towards my aims and goals?" Ask this question without regard to what has happened until now.

Perhaps you've spent the past three years developing some software that you thought was going to change the world. Three years later, it works, but not brilliantly. In the meantime, a competitor has built a superior solution that runs rings around yours in the lab and in the marketplace and things are looking pretty grim.

But you have just stumbled across a brand new business idea - that has nothing to do with your software business - that you can implement quickly and profitably. What do you do?

Many people, would, quite reasonably say, "I've spent so much on this product, and I'm so close - I'll just keep working on it.

But you know that would be wrong. It would not be the highest and best use of your time; it wouldn't give you the greatest return on your actions. That would be a decision based solely on your attachment to the past and your attachment to your sunk costs.

Be unreasonable. Make each decision as if there were no past attached. Make each decision based on your highest and best use - your greatest contribution. Evaluate each decision based on how it will impact your ability to get what you want, not on what you've spent to get where you are.

Bespoke bags are in demand as companies recognise the advantages of giving their customers more freedom of choice.

Many bags suppliers have responded to customers' growing demands for promotional products that stand out from the crowd by offering a customisation service for bespoke orders.

Whether the marketing objective calls for inexpensive promotional giveaways or designer bags for use as corporate gifts, off-the-shelf standard bags are no longer the only option. In today's competitive marketplace, where so
many products vie for attention, companies have recognised the benefits of giving their customers and prospects bespoke bags.

Many bags suppliers now offer a complete bespoke service. As well as a free consultation service, their in-house design studios undertake all design and produce visual samples free of charge, which is then followed by artwork to factory specification. They are therefore able to design and manufacture bespoke bags to individual specifications – which can be simple or complex in design. Quantities do not even have to be large, but most suppliers will have some sort of minimum order quantity.

Apart from receiving a product that is unique, one of the other main attractions of bespoke bags is that they either cost the same or only marginally more than standard versions. Most kinds of bags are ideal for customisation through a choice of fabric, colour or finish. Added to this is the range of personalization options such as screen printing, transfer print and embroidery, as well as foil blocking and blind embossing.

The bags supplier will be able to discuss the endless bespoke possibilities and make recommendations as to which option will help create maximum impact and brand recognition.

Choosing a bags supplier

Posted by Admin | 7:57 PM

Choosing the right promotional bags supplier can make or break your marketing campaign.

Choosing a bags supplier for your next promotional campaign can at first seem quite a daunting task due to the large variety of bag brands, styles and finishes available. It is therefore important to partner with a company experienced in sourcing and supplying promotional bags.

Drawing on their product and market knowledge, a good bags supplier will offer a free consultation service to help you select the right bag to meet your n
eds – one that will be both appropriate and effective with your target audience, as well as in keeping with your budget.

But how should you go about finding a reputable bags supplier?

As with most items, word-of-mouth recommendation is always a good starting point.

The next step should be to contact one of the promotional products trade associations such as PROMOTA, BPMA and ISP, which will be able to provide details of member companies that are bags suppliers. As their members are obliged to operate to a strict code of conduct, you will be able to buy from them with confidence and peace of mind.

Whether you are after budget or premium promotional bags, you will want to protect your brand and company image. It is therefore worth speaking to a few bags suppliers in order to find one that is as passionate about their level of service as they are about the product quality.

Promotional bags are an ideal way to market your business, but the choice of supplier is critical if your campaign is to have maximum impact.

2. Selling digital products on Ebay

Here's another really quick way to earn money online. If you don't want to ship out physical items or take pictures, digital products is the way to go. It does not matter what you are looking for on the
Internet or what it is you are trying to accomplish
because, basically, everyone wants the same thing.

This is especially true for those of us wishing to do
business online although it really applies to even
those just seeking a community of like-minded people.

EVERYONE on the Internet wants:

1. To find more INFORMATION on a given subject.
or
2. To find PEOPLE with similar interests.

Many refer to this as your niche. Others involved with
on
ine business call it finding your target audience.

Give some thought as to why you want to reach people.

Once you know WHY you want to contact people, then
you will know WHOM it is you need to communicate with
and for WHAT reason.

So where should you begin your search?

As the question itself suggests the answer, you
should begin your quest for either information or
people by doing extensive research with your
favorite search engine(s).

I personally like to use Google, http://www.google.com,
and that is where I begin my research.

No matter which Search Engines or Directory is your
own personal favorite, just take that as your starting
point and build on it from there.

But, certainly, do not limit your research to just one
source. You should use no less than the top ten
Search Engines and Directories for your research.

For a list, via Auto-Responder, of the current
"Top 10 Search Engines and Directories!", send
a blank email message to:
mailto:Top10SE@emailexchange.org

Here is an excellent strategy to make use of
for your own quest for information or people:

1. Prepare a list of "Keywords" to find what you seek.

2. Visit each of the Top 10 Search Engines and Directories.

3. At each of the Top 10 enter your "keywords".

4. Visit and review the Top 20 to 30 results of the "keywords"

used in your search at each of the Search Engines
and Directories.

5. Weed out the useless or dead links.

6. Begin to form your community and bookmark all
the web sites that hold interest and promise.

This will give you a solid foundation from which to begin.

Your next step is to reach out and "touch" that community
of people that you seek by sending out email.

ALWAYS use email without resorting to SPAM.

Because SPAM is against Internet rules and because it creates
more problems that it solves. SPAM is should NOT be an option.

With the list you compile from your research, decide if it is
important to your quest to contact the web masters of each
of those individual web site.

This list of web masters gives you a good start on
which to start building your own little community of contacts.

Begin to compile a "Mailing List" of your contacts.

Next, build on your list by joining discussion or mailing
list groups that are already established. These are
communities that already exist and discuss topics of
interest by email.

Internet discussion groups may be mailing lists,
newsgroups, message boards, chat rooms or IRC type
chat channels, to name just a few possibilities.

Seek out the moderated type lists as they are loaded
with your Niche people. And, what you do on these groups
is quite simple; you participate.

You do NOT try to place ads as that is SPAM.

However, virtually all such groups do allow those that
participate to include a 2 to 4 line signature. Some groups
even allow larger signatures.

NEVER underestimate the power of your signature.

During a one-week period, my signature was the ONLY
form of promotion I used and in just five days we got
over 1000 visitors to our unadvertised web site.

For some good tips on using your signature visit:

How To Use Your Signature:

Here are some excellent FREE Resources to find and
join Free Discussion or Mailing List groups:

Search The List of Lists:
http://catalog.com/vivian/interest-group-search.html

CataList, the catalog of 46,902 public LISTSERV lists!
http://www.lsoft.com/lists/listref.html

These groups are established and are full of members that
can fill your own particular Niche or Target Audience by
merely searching out those groups with like-minded people.

Do not overlook the power of Ezines and or Newsletters.

Whatever your interest, most certainly there already exists a
network of publications that tap into your Niche or Target Audience.

Tap into these publications, a few at a time, and you
will get an instant pulse on happenings online. Visit:

Top 100+ Online Newsletters:
http://emailexchange.org/newsletters.html

Remember, it is essential to begin your own mailing list of
people that AGREE to receive your email.

Perhaps once a week, with a word of interest, you send out a
mailing with info directly related to your common interest.

It is important to keep the lines of communication open
with your community of people.

But do NOT just send out ad upon ad. No one likes to be
bombarded with ads from others.

Send out information that will be informative and of interest.

This gives you a basic "Blue Print" to follow to either
begin to establish yourself on the Internet or expand
on whatever you have already accomplished.

The basic resources outlined above will give you a strong
foundation to discover WHERE to reach that special niche
or target audience of yours.

Hi my name is Wendy and one night I left work and on my way home about 8:30 pm. I had reached the top of my hill and realized that a HUGE FIRE broke out in my neighbors home. The smoke was so thick it was overwhelming me inside my car on the street. I was the only person on the seen and grab my Cellphone and called 911. Then proceeded to drive past the house with flames. It was so HOT to get by I had to put the window up!
Well I got to a safe spot and got out. I met a friend who just walked up me. I said, "Patty, should I go in or ye
l for anyone?" I just can't stand here, knowing people may be inside! But realize it was to late to go into the house.

Patty and I didn't know all the people got out of the house safely. The fire broke out when a tenant left a hot iron on. The cat knocked it over, when the person went to work. The smoke and flames was so bad. I went home and closed all the windows which was 6 homes down. This house was old and had shingle material which I think has hazardous chemicals when the flames broke out.

The fireman then arrived! Thank god for them.

The moral of my story is to have a Cellphone for any emergency. Whether it be a Fire, Accident, Rape, Attack or stuck on the thruway.

Sales is tough to get right, and depends on retaining those customers, yet people do it badly and unprofessionally all the time. It's really not difficult to learn the art of good service, and if you get it perfect, you will see those rewards.

Let's look at an example of service from my point of view:

I usually buy a sandwich from one place only. I always go there, as I get top services and the sandwich is nice. I could go anywhere, but I choose to go to this place.

Price has nothing to do with
it. I can get a sandwich cheaper elsewhere, but the reason that I don't go elswhere is so simple, and it's scary that so many businesses fail to capitalise on this easy technique. The answer is that the guy knows what my order is I only have to walk in and they prepare my sandwich without asking what I want. I suppose speed of service is part of it - never much waiting in there but it saves me from repeating my order every time I want the same thing.

It's a nice little touch which is highly noticable by customers. Nothing major, but it shows they care about what they do. They are serious about service and yet it appears effortless, as if they aren't trying.

That's the secret of service. Make everything effortless in the customer's eyes.

HUGE EXPANDING MARKET:

It doesnt matter how good you are in an industry that is eroding. A thriving market is everything in any network marketing business.

UNIQUE CONSUMABLE PRODUCT:

If you dont have a unique product, you will always be competing on price and convenience. Who has the best price and who is closest to the customer? If you are unique in your product or service people will come to you. If you want repeat sales the product should be consumable. A non-consumable product means youre unemployed until
the next sale.

TIMING:

Timing trends is crucial. Throughout all cycles of the economy there are people who are making money and losing money. The makers are those in front of the trends; the losers disregard trends. How do you get in front of large trends? You must study what creates them. Without any hesitation in todays society its the Baby Boomer generation that creates the largest trends. In the USA 70,000,000 were born during that time period and a billion were born worldwide. Why is this group so talked about? Its because they represent only 1/3 of the US population but control 65% of all the money. So what will be the next big trends? (1) Health (2) Looking Younger (3) Education (4) Retirement (5) Security (6) Money, for example. If you want to be brilliantly compensated, you must focus on industries and companies that have positioned themselves at the front.

ABILITY TO CREATE LEVERAGE:

We are not taught leverage in our society. We are taught to get a good education, build a rsum and exchange our expertise for someone elses dollars. The problem with that is if we are not exchanging our expertise were not making any dollars. So vacation time is costly! A walk around a golf course is costly; family time, although extremely important, is costly!

The definition for Leverage is an increased means by which to attain something.
One form of leverage is investing $5,000,000 dollars and earning 10% interest on it. This will yield approximately $41,000 per month in income. So whether youre walking around a golf course, enjoying a vacation or family time, you still enjoy $41,000/month in income. Youre leveraging off your money; and thats leverage that everyone would like, but few enjoy.

In the right business vehicle it takes 200% to be successful: 100% from yourself and 100% from the business vehicle youve chosen; the correct vehicle that has all four of these principles.

Recent developments on the Google front have gotten web marketers and SEO specialists talking even more than usual. What they're talking about is the changing Search Engine Optimization landscape. Some of the traditional assumptions about what gets good Google ranking have been challenged by things Google has said over the last few months -- especially by the filing of their most recent patent application.

A number of sensible suggestions have emerged about good SEO practice. Here is one of the most important:

1. Don't add links too quickly or all from one or two sources -- Google wants a "natural" linking pattern.

This is not a new suggestion, but Google seems to be prepared to penalize sites which engage in blatant link buying. Clearly this is targeted at services that sell links by the hundreds (or thousands). So one month a site has no links, and the next month it has 2,000 or 20,000 links from one or two "name" sites. Obviously these links have happened because of link buying.

Is Google trying to discourage all link buying? I don't think so. Links are just a form of advertising, and Google cannot discourage buying advertising without being blatantly inconsistent. Google itself is one of the primary sources of purchased web advertising, and it would be a blatant abuse of their dominant position to discriminate against smaller advertising networks who are offering a legitimate service to webmasters.

As I read the situation, what Google is trying to do is safeguard the integrity of their search results by ruling out massive overnight link purchases. We're talking thousands of links here. Without these safeguards, search results can be dramatically skewed by the practice of buying large chunks of links. There is clearly something wrong with a system that claims that link popularity is an indicator of site quality if a site suddenly has thousands of inbound links when just a week ago it had none.

This practice makes a mockery of the importance of links. Their only purpose is to exploit the system and make a dramatic impact on Page Rank and Search Engine positioning. Google wants Page Rank and search results to flow from website quality and relevance. And virtually all SEO experts have maintained that quality and relevance come fairly gradually as a site grows and its content develops. The "natural" development of links should happen more or less in lock step with the development of content.

This does not mean that the importance of links has been diminished. Just the opposite. Google is reconfirming their position that the number and quality of links pointing at specific web pages is the most significant indicator of the importance of that web page.

Nor does it mean that a webmaster should never buy links on legitimate websites. On the contrary, it means that links should be acquired and developed consistently and steadily over time, and that the quality of your link partners matters more than ever. This applies whether your links are the result of exchanges, purchases, blogging, article publishing, or any of the other established techniques for building traffic through linking.

When you are looking for link partners you should look at the quality of the sites linking back to you. Ask yourself how relevant is the content in the pages, what is the balance between content and links, how often are these pages updated, how much traffic do these pages get, do these pages link to "authority" sites like Google, Yahoo, eBay, Amazon, Microsoft.

All of these things matter more now than they ever have.

Promotional bags are an effective way of building brand awareness and a useful way to attract new customers and rewarding loyal ones.

Promotional bags are an extremely effective means of advertising for any company, primarily used to reward loyal customers or to make an impression on prospective customers at events. Some of the most popular types of promotional bags are: business bags, laptop bags, promotional backpacks, sports bags, travel bags, tote
ags and cooler bags.

Anyone considering the use of promotional bags in their next marketing campaign should look into the added benefits of branding. Personalising promotional bags will make them stand out from the crowd, which is fundamental if the promotion's objective is to raise brand awareness.

In many ways, the choice of branding is just as important as the choice of bag. All promotional bags provide excellent overprinting opportunities with several low cost branding options available.

Screen printing offers the best value for adding a one- or two-colour logo to promotional bags, whereas transfer print is slightly more expensive but ideal for logos needing a four-colour print process. The low cost option in relation to perceived value is embroidering, which can accommodate six colours in any design.

Branding on leather promotional bags should ideally be subtle in line with the quality and intended use of the product. Options include foil blocking or blind embossing. In addition promotional bags can be further customised by the addition of metal and rubber badges or stitched-in labels.

With their combination of practicality, style, superior quality and cutting edge design, branded promotional bags are a perfect way for a company to demonstrate its commitment to excellence.

Picture this...

It's the middle of July in a bustling Metropolis. It's hot, but not the kind of heat that makes you sweat buckets. The kind of heat that forms an invisible adhesive layer over your entire body so that everything seams to stick to you.

SUDDENLY... The Big Advertising screen on one of the largest buildings in town *Bursts* into life! A picture of a cool refreshing berry-licious big gulp dances in mid air, promising to satisfy your every need! And there on the lonely street corner right below the screen sit
a seven eleven.

This, my friends is the power of the opt-in mailing list. It's like having a veritable endless bank account at your disposal. Any time you need a little cash, you pop up an advertisement and the orders come flooding in.

Sounds nice, doesn't it. But it doesn't have to be a fantasy. You have the ability to make this happen. You just need the knowledge. As they say, Knowledge is Power! Marketers need to stop looking to affiliate programs, Success promising software, and multi-level marketing for the answer to there income needs. You have the resources to be successful right in front of you, and guess what. Their FREE!

The first step in building an opt-in mailing list is to become a writer. That's right. What, did you think you could just ask people to sign up for your list for no apparent reason? People need a reason to join your list, they need to receive something in return. After all have you ever signed up for a list that said, "Sign up here FREE and I'll send you an advertisement every day!". Whooo Hoooo! Sign me up!

No, you need to offer them something they didn't have before. Information. A point of view. A complaint. Anything that sparks there interest. People enjoy hearing others opinions even if it's just someone ranting and raving. Just look at George Carlin, the comedian, he makes a good living complaining.

The best thing to do if your going to start a newsletter or e-zine as there known. Is to choose a topic that you are naturally enthused about. If you're a health nut, write a newsletter about healthy living and call it "Tofu and Power Bars". Or whatever gets you going.

By choosing a topic you already know about or enjoy you will give yourself a 2 fold advantage.

1. You will naturally put enthusiasm into you article which will make it a more enjoyable read.
2. You'll be able to offer an intelligent and informed view

There's nothing worse than listening to some half wit ramble on and on about a subject they know nothing about. Next you should look for products which are similar to your interest. In this case nutritional supplements or diet drinks. There are plenty of programs out there that will give you good commission to sell nutritional products. You just have to look.

After you've chosen a topic of interest and you've got some products to sell, you need to find a good newsletter management system. There are plenty of companies on the net that offer free newsletter management. Just go to your favorite search engine and type in "newsletter manager". Most free managers only allow so many subscribers, so once you start getting a serious following you may need to pay a minimal amount for a better manager.

Trust me, this is worth the small investment. When you have a big enough list you will be banking an income large enough to live off of. Start today by looking deciding upon a topic of interest and if you have time compare a few newsletter management systems.

In most cities across the country, one sure sign of persistence is facing the daily commute. Prime time commuters are superstars at the art of persistence. Most don't have a choice, so they face the daily crush with steeled nerves and tight jawed commitment.

Most salespeople believe that they don't have a choice, either. Worse yet, they have been taught to believe that nothing takes the place of persistence. That the price of success is dogged and determined tenacity.

There is a fine line between being persistent and be
ng obnoxious. Perhaps the most misunderstood and underutilized secret to selling anything is to understand the critical role that timing plays in successful sales. You see, customers and prospects buy when they are ready to buy, not when salespeople need to make a sale. Not when they are worn down by pesky salespeople.

I'll bet that whenever you have made a successful sale, no matter what you sell, there are certain essential characteristics that your new customer had. Here they are:
ท A need for your product or service
ท An awareness of the need for it
ท A sense of urgency about obtaining it.

It was not your dogged determination to pursue them to the end of the earth to either (a) create a need, (b) make them aware of it or (c) create a sense of urgency that made them buy. In fact, I'll suggest this to you. If, after three attempts to secure an appointment with a prospect you are still getting the brush-off, find another prospect!

Invest your time with the right people. But you're probably asking this: "How do I make sure my non-responsive prospect doesn't buy from a competitor while I'm out talking with someone else?"

Good question. The truth is that the very prospect who scorned you will likely become a qualified prospect at some time in the future. That person may even be a highly qualified prospect right now. But not for you.

The secret is to develop tools that will allow your prospect to respond to you when they are ready, interested and motivated to do so. We call this Permission Based prospecting. A far cry from bothersome phone calls, staged drop-in visits and thinly veiled and contrived networking events, this process is proactive and positive.

How do you do this? Start with a good contact management software system. Then go ahead and develop a strategy of frequent yet unobtrusive ways to stay in touch with your key prospects. Worry more about qualitative, value laden contacts than a pure volume of bothersome phone calls.

Give some serious thought to providing your prospects valuable information they can use rather than simply trying to persuade them that they need to see you. Newsletters, postcards, reports, information of value, audio tapes, video tapes and other items that help them to do what they do even better are some great ways to stay in front of prospects in positive, productive and powerful ways.

The real secret is to give prospects a chance to respond to your varied offers. Be sure to include a fax-back form, 800 phone number, response card with pre-paid postage or even a return E-Mail address that will allow your prospects to respond to you when they see how you can help them solve problems or work through challenges they face on a daily basis.

This strategy will yield a more positive perception, enhanced receptivity and a greater sense of professional acceptance. It is also far more sophisticated; is less heavy-handed and far more likely to be successful than the traditional idea of believing that personal persistence really does pay off.

Evaluating Your Event

Posted by Admin | 7:09 PM

Evaluate Immediately! It is important to do your evaluation/assessment of the event while the details are fresh in your mind. Include anyone in the evaluation process that had a stake in the event. Stakeholders would include vendors, hired staff, volunteers and employers. You could host a debriefing session or a wrap up meeting to accomplish this task. Make this a pleasant experience. Include refreshments and lots of kudos (thank you's for a job well done). Prior to, or when the meeting begins, enlist a "scribe" to record
the comments and answers from the group. Ask yourself and them the following questions:

ท Did the event fulfill the goals and objectives set forth?

ท What worked? What didn't? What would you do differently? The same?

ท Did the event run smoothly and on schedule?

ท Which vendors/stakeholders should be hired/recruited again?

ท Were any items missing from the checklist that should be included in future events?

ท Did you generate favorable publicity for the event?

ท How was attendance? Were the attendance goals achieved?

ท Did you receive positive feedback from those who attended? Did you use formal (written, documented forms or one on one surveys) or informal (chatting in the restrooms, lines, seminars, etc.) methods of evaluation?

ท What could you do differently, better to reach your goals? To involve more people? To spread the word about the event?

ท Was the event worth doing? What were some of the benefits? Would you do it again?

Encourage alternative forms of feedback from those unable to attend, such as via e-mail, website and fax back forms. Once you have received feedback from the group, have the notes transcribed for distribution to all the stakeholders (clients). Be sure to include this in the event portfolio for future reference. Proper evaluating of the event will lead to even greater success in the future. In fact, it is important to evaluate all aspects of business from time to time. Otherwise, how and when would you know what needs to be improved? One final thought; make sure you get feedback from attendees. And here's a key question to ask, especially if it is an event that is open to the public: How did you hear about this event?

David Ogilvy speaks out...

Today I have a real treat for you. A video from a true advertising legend. But before we go there…let's cover some background information…

The term "Direct-Response Marketing" or "Direct Marketing" may only be 46 or so years old (when Lester Wunderman gave birth to it) but the actual application of Direct-Response methods have been in practice for hundreds of years.

In fact, according to Direct Marketing professionals Denny Hatch and Don Jackson, direc
marketing dates back to 1600 when garden catalogs were sold direct to the consumer.

During my years of consulting on marketing and advertising projects and writing copy for companies around the world I've had the direct-response vs. general marketing/advertising debate countless times.

What's the debate all about? Well, in summary it goes like this…

General advertising is what you see most of the time on the TV, in newspapers and magazines. They consist of amazingly creative advertisements that people often feel are "cool." They get your attention and are widely accepted as being what advertising is all about. I should also mention that most awards are for these kind of ads. The goal here it seems is to do something different and be more creative. Unfortunately, with general advertising you often have no idea how effective each ad or promotion is. You may know that a campaign helped to increase sales, but potential success will never reach a maximum because strict tracking and testing lacks.

On the other side of the coin is Direct-Response. This approach is to communicate directly with your prospect and get them to take action…whether that means having them read a report, contacting you for more information, coming to a seminar or buying your product. Direct-Response is measured to the penny. Variations of headlines, images, offers, guarantees and more are tested…calculating results is common practice and allows you to know which ad or promotion directly benefits your bottom line.

Many in general advertising stay away from direct-response. They know very little about it and don't want to. It's not creative enough or seems to 'foreign'.

It really is a whole other world.

You see with direct-response success isn't a matter of creativity, or design appeal or even how well you write and your grammar for that matter. Direct-Response success is measured in sales and profit. And your ad or promotions are tested and tracked…leading to the ad with the highest ROI becoming your control which you test other ads against.

This ensures you have the most profitable ad running…and reduces the amount of money you spend on advertising that may or may not be working at its best.

If you know anything about me, you'll know I'm a huge advocate of Direct-Response marketing. I love that fact that you can scientifically test and know what is working and what isn't.

Many companies have good intentions…but it's too bad so many still spend their hard earned cash on a guessing game…hoping their ads will pay off.

I don't know about you, but I prefer knowing what will work and then making adjustments to ensure it does.

Here's another reason I love direct-response. Because for a few hundred dollars you can know whether or not a product or service will work. You don't have to spend tens of thousands of dollars just to find out.

That's smart investing don't you think?

What I'm writing here definitely isn't new. Click the link below and watch what David Ogilvy, one of the fathers of Advertising, has to say about this debate.

The most important asset of your infopreneur business, the reason people would want to do business with you, is your content.

It doesn't matter

- what your infopreneur business is about

- or how pretty your packaging looks

- or that you administer it excellently

- or that you are the top expert in your area

- or that you have hundreds of pages on your website

The most important thing is the content you provide your audience. You'll be judged harshly by your readers, viewers and listeners. M
ny of them will come into contact with you for the first time, by accidentally stumbling across your website.

You must strive to overwhelm them with exceptionally good content. Doing this is the only trick in your bag to impress them, and then keep them happy, satisfied and wanting more.

In the infopreneur publishing world, "Content is King". If you provide content of a consistently superior quality, your business will be a success. But then you already knew this! What you are looking for as you read this article is useful information about becoming an infopreneur.

So, how do infopreneurs develop content? They do it in 3 ways - create it, syndicate it or buy content.

You can create it.

This is the simplest way, if you are capable of creating content quickly and easily. If you are a good writer, then you can write your own articles, special reports and course material. If you have a good speaking voice and access to recording equipment, you can easily come up with audio information products. And with slightly more complex apparatus, you can record video presentations, live events, seminars and coaching bootcamps - making a multimedia version of your information product.

You can syndicate it.

In case you are not able to come up with your own information products on a regular sustainable basis, you can always licence, rent or borrow content others have created.

Some content syndication services specifically create content for the purpose of licencing and syndicating them for others to use. This benefits the content creator by giving them access to a wider audience than they can reach on their own. And you, as an infopreneur, can benefit too by saving time and effort involved in coming up with fresh content by yourself.

You can buy it.

Content creation for hire, either exclusively for your use or as part of a private label content package is another option for those not able to create their own content.

You can get an expert involved in creating content for you, and then put that material to use in your information marketing efforts. This helps you leverage off the knowledge and effort of someone else, while using the valuable content generated in your business.

Which method you choose to use is based on many factors like your skills, time availability and budget for business development. But regardless of what you do, remember that the quality of content you present your audience is ultimately your responsibility - no one else's.

You and your business will be judged on the basis of the quality of content and information you provide. Make sure that impression is a good one - and use only high quality content.

Strengthening your product;s brand through continuous contact with your market

Continuity. Business continuity. Contact continuity.

If you look it up, continuity means constant chain of sequence. In marketing, it means continuous chain of your marketing campaign throughout the whole year.

It is all about continuity of your relationship with your clients and prospects. When you want your business to flourish, you need to create an environment of you delivering what you have
romised and getting your clients to purchase your product or avail of your service.

This is why you should always make it a point to continue with your marketing campaigns such as your flyer printing pieces and advertising posters. You just cannot stop them from circulating even if you have reached a point where you had enough leads to boost your business.

And even if the season's over for your kind of products, it does not hurt to still continue advertising so that when your time comes that your target clients need you you are already there at the top of their minds.

Think about how you will be able to create a marketing campaign that will help you to continue providing your services to your clients and new prospects. Your clients have already tried it so it would not be too hard for you to promote with a repeat purchase as your expected outcome. Making a follow through even when you are not needed can go a long way in creating a more stable and solid relationship with your clients.

Mind you, you might find out that only a few of your clients would actually act according to your message. A few might even be encouraged to buy from you again which will create returning profits for your business. And it may take off a few dollars from your company coffers, but continuity in your marketing campaign can go along way in making sure that you maintain your customer base.

If you have to, you can do it on a monthly basis. Always remember that if you do it consistently, it would definitely increase the flow of your return of investment. Especially if you have a product that needs to be advertised continuously. It would surely get you a significant increase in your profits.

The key here is to keep your contact with your target audience constantly. By doing so, you not only strengthen your position in your market, but most importantly, you solidify your brand and position in your clients' minds by having them rely on your for their needs.

Selling your products out of state? Not sure what you should be doing about sales and use tax? Read on entrepreneur.

Use tax for out of state sales

In recent years, most states have stepped up their attempts to require out-of-state retailers like EBay store operators and telemarketers to register for the purpose of collecting their use taxes.

The good news about use tax

Unless you have a "physical presence" in a state, you can legally avoid registering for and paying its use t
x.

A state's taxing power extends only as far as it borders. A state cannot force you to pay its taxes unless you do something in its borders. And for all you eBay sellers out there, simply selling merchandise to residents of a state does not qualify as having a "physical presence" in your customer's state.

Accounting lingo

The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that you must engage in a minimal level of physical activity within a state in order to establish a connection. Making sales in a state, via internet or mail order is not enough activity to establish a connection.

What will make a connection?

You may be required to register for and pay use tax if you:

1. Maintain an office, store, or other business facility in the state.

2. One of your employees (or you) enters the state to take orders, perform services, or otherwise do business on your behalf.

3. Real property that you own or lease is located in the state.

4. Personal property that you own or lease is stored or used in the state on a more than occasional basis.

Basically if you limit your contact to mail, email, and telephone you shouldn't be required to register for, collect or pay a states use tax.

Major changes to the tax laws now allow small business owners to establish 401(k) plans more easily than ever before, and benefit from bigger 401(k) plan deductions than they've ever seen.
These 401(k) plans have been dubbed "solo" 401(k) plans because of the new rules' popularity among single-owner businesses. Yet, it is possible to have more than one owner and maintain a "solo" 401(k) plan, as noted below.

To obtain the benefits for the 2003 tax year, however, you must act before December 31st. (For
ore about the types of investment services our investment affiliates offer, please visit http://www.marcjlane.com/decisiontree.htm) In contrast, SEP IRAs can be established at the same time your individual income tax return is filed (i.e., April 15 of the following tax year).

This report highlights some of the significant benefits of a solo 401(k) plan.

A solo 401(k) plan allows a small business owner and his or her family to defer and invest tax-deductible (pre-tax) retirement contributions at a fast rate. The importance of maximizing retirement plan contributions cannot be emphasized enough. Over time, compounding tax-deferred investing can significantly increase one's wealth. (For "A Case For Professional Money Management,"and more about this important aspect of growing wealth, please visit http://www.marcjlane.com/decisiontree.htm)

How you might benefit from a solo 401(k).

Eligibility. While a small business owner could establish a 401(k) plan under prior law, the administrative hassles might have discouraged you from doing so. Recent legislation makes establishing a 401(k) plan much more attractive for small business owners. Now, a business entity whose only eligible participants are business owners, partners, and/or spouses of owners or partners may establish a 401(k) plan easier and with greater deductions than ever before. Children, parents, and grandparents may also participate as long as they earn income from the business. (However, specific plan administrators may have their own guidelines or limitations regarding participants.) Nearly all forms of business entities and ownership are eligible for a Solo 401(k). Sole proprietors, partnerships, corporations (including S-corporations), LLCs, and LLPs may all establish Solo 401(k) plans.

The good news: As long as the eligible 401(k) participants are limited to those mentioned above ("eligible solo participants"), the solo 401(k) will not be subject to all the administrative, recordkeeping, and investment monitoring regulations that traditional 401(k) plans must follow. Full-time employees who are at least age 21 and have one year of service must be offered the opportunity to participate in any 401(k) plan. However, for these purposes, a part-time employee working less than 1,000 hours per year can be disregarded and will not affect the solo 401(k)'s legal compliance. It may be a good idea to set up a solo 401(k) now, even if you may add an employee who is not an eligible solo participant in future years. At that time the solo 401(k) plan can simply be suspended or terminated.

Key benefits. Under the new law, you may deduct up to $40,000 for each participant in a solo 401(k), as explained in more detail below. Even more appealing, if you and your spouse are actively involved in your business and have sufficient business earnings, you and he or she may be able to contribute - - and deduct - - up to $80,000 for retirement.

Another benefit under the new law is that you can reach the maximum deduction of $40,000 at a faster rate than ever before - - with as little as $112,000 of income in 2003. In contrast, at that income level, other retirement plans allow much lower contributions (e.g., a SIMPLE IRA would generally allow about a $11,360 deductible contribution, and a SEP IRA or Profit Sharing Plan would generally allow about a $28,000 deductible contribution. See the comparison chart below.)

If I have a side business, will a solo 401(k) benefit me, even if the business doesn't make much income?

Yes. In fact, a side business is a prime candidate for a solo 401(k). A traditional employee, if he or she has a side business, may now make additional deductible retirement contributions very rapidly via a solo 401(k) plan. With just $20,000 of income, you may be able to deduct up to $17,000 and only pay income taxes on the remaining $3,000. The rapid deductible contribution rate (in this case, 85%) can be very appealing to those wanting to save more for retirement, particularly if the income generated from a side business is not required for their immediate needs. What's more, if the participant is 50 years or older as of January 1st, "catch up" provisions allow even higher contributions for that year ($2,000 in 2003, and increasing by $1,000 each year to a maximum of $5,000 in 2006 and later years).

What other benefits does a solo 401(k) offer?

Solo 401(k) plans also offer several other advantages:

Roll over other plans. Once your 401(k) plan is established, you may roll over other retirement accounts into it.

Loans. You may borrow up to 50% of your account balance (up to a $50,000 loan) and repay it over five years (or over 10 years, if the loan is used for a principal residence).

Brokerage accounts. The plan may include a self-directed brokerage account, allowing maximum investment flexibility.

No tax return. No tax returns for the plan are necessary, as long as assets remain under $100,000.

Simplified tax return. If assets exceed $100,000, a simplified tax return may be filed if the plan covers only you (and your spouse) or one or more partners (and their spouses).

No FICA tax. The employer contribution portion is not subject to FICA (Social Security) or self-employment taxes (but any salary deferral portion is subject to tax. See "Comparison of Contributions" below for description of methods of contribution).

Extended contribution date. Employer contributions may be made after year-end (by your tax return deadline, including extensions). However, salary deferrals must be made by December 31st, and may only be made from income earned after the 401(k) plan is established.

Creditor protection. Retirement assets held in a 401(k) plan are generally protected from the claims of creditors. Creditor protection provides peace of mind that your wealth will continue to build despite any potential hazards on the way to retirement.

(To learn more about some aspects of these advantages of a 401(k) plan, see "Borrowing from Your Retirement Account" please visit http://www.marcjlane.com/LaneReport/0304lr.htm and see "Exactly What Does Marc J. Lane & Company do?" please visit http://www.marcjlane.com/investment/index.html

Comparison of Contributions: Solo 401(k) vs. Other Plans

Recent legislation increased the maximum deductible contribution under many retirement plans to 25% of compensation, up to a maximum contribution of $40,000. Since a 401(k) plan, uniquely, has two methods of contribution (i.e., an employee salary deferral and an employer contribution), it is able to take advantage of these new limits and defer retirement contributions at a very rapid rate.

For 2003, the maximum salary deferral generally allowed is $12,000 per participant (unless the participant is at least 50 years old, as noted earlier). Additional contributions may be made by the employer; however, employer contributions must be made for each eligible participant and at the same rate (i.e., 25% of compensation). Salary deferrals are ignored when determining "compensation" for purposes of computing the employer contribution. Therefore, the contribution rate (i.e., 25%) is applied toward the participant's compensation before salary deferral. However, the "compensation" amount used in the calculation is less for unincorporated businesses than for corporations because of a reduction for self-employment taxes.

The chart below compares the maximum contributions available in 2003 for several popular retirement plans. The chart presumes that the business is incorporated, and reflects both the maximum employee and employer contribution components.

Comparison of Retirement Plans: Maximum Contributions (2003)

Business Owner Wages for 2003 SIMPLE IRA SEP IRA SOLO 401(k) $ 20,000 $ 8,600 $ 5,000 $17,000 $ 40,000 $ 9,200 $10,000 $22,000 $ 60,000 $ 9,800 $15,000 $27,000 $ 80,000 $10,400 $20,000 $32,000 $100,000 $11,000 $25,000 $37,000 *$112,000 * $11,360 $28,000 * $40,000 * $120,000 $11,600 $30,000 $40,000 $140,000 $12,200 $35,000 $40,000 $160,000 $12,800 $40,000 $40,000

Maximizing Your Solo 401(k): A "Side Business" Example

Bill is an employee of a corporation at which he has been contributing the maximum amount to that company's 401(k) plan (currently, $12,000). With the stock market's bear market from 2000 to 2002, he knows he either needs to contribute more toward retirement savings or get by with less income in his retirement years. (Note: Bill will probably opt to contribute more toward retirement savings since he is not a $20 million lottery winner) (To see "Case Studies," please visit http://www.marcjlane.com/Studies/casestudies.html)

Bill is also the sole shareholder of a corporation that he created five years ago for a side business. That business currently generates $40,000 of income, and since it is a side business, Bill doesn't need the income to support his family's routine expenses. If Bill establishes a solo 401(k) for the corporation, he can contribute $22,000 toward his retirement in 2003:

Salary deferral (maximum) $12,000 Employer contribution (25% of $40,000) $10,000 TOTAL solo 401(k) contributions $22,000

With these additional contributions, Bill can nearly triple the total amount he contributed to retirement plans in 2002 (i.e., $12,000 in 2002 with his primary corporate job, and $34,000 in 2003 with both his primary job and his side business). Bill will only pay income taxes on the remaining $18,000 of the $40,000 of income earned from his side business.

However, Bill can do better. If Bill's wife, Betty, is involved with the business and earns a salary of $10,000, she can contribute her full compensation as salary deferral. The total contributions for Bill and Betty would be calculated as follows:

Salary deferral (Bill) $12,000 Salary deferral (Betty) $10,000 Employer contribution - Bill (25% of $30,000) $ 7,500 Employer contribution - Betty (25% of $10,000) $ 2,500 TOTAL solo 401(k) contributions $32,000

Bill and Betty will now pay income taxes only on the remaining $8,000 (20%) of income generated from their side business and they'll avoid current income taxes on $32,000 (80%) of the business income. Combined, they will contribute $44,000 toward retirement in 2003 ($32,000 from the side business and $12,000 from Bill's primary job)!

Conclusion

A solo 401(k) plan now offers small business owners a practical way to rapidly contribute toward retirement, reduce taxes, consolidate retirement plans, and provide liquidity via 401(k) plan loans, if necessary. While everyone may not qualify for a solo 401(k), those that do enjoy the benefits of the plan for years to come. you to evaluate the required aspects you need to know about your ads. Ad tracking can help you analyze the effectiveness of every single ad, and hence they should be an integral part of every marketing campaignAn ad tracking program records when your advertisement was loaded by browser. It is called page impression. It can tel you when was your URL clicked, what was the the referring URL, the browser and operating system used and the exact time the visitor arrived. It can also record total hits and unique hits (i.e. where one visitor may click several times). The accumulated data stored so that you are able to generate reports any ways you would like to e.g. by month, day or even by hour.A number of advertising programs like Adwords have their own ad tracking mechanisms in place which you can access once you use their system to distribute your ad. One type would be hosted on your site using a script . This would require installation of a script on to your website. Other type is an online service that does not require any installation.Hosted ScriptsYou need to purchase these programs which then is required to be installed on your site. you can choose to install all by yourself or get it installed by a professional against a fee. With this kind of tracking, the tracking URL contains your site's domain name.Online ServicesThese programs operate completely independently from your site. therefore no software installation is required. However, such programs run at the site that provides this service. You pay a rental for the program. With this kind of tracking, the tracking URL contains domain name of the site that provides this service. There are many ad tracking programs available that you can utilize for evaluation of your ads

Never have there been so many fashion sunglasses styles and colors to choose from whether you are shopping for designer sunglasses, replica sunglasses, prescription sunglasses or sports sunglasses the choices are endless. Besides protecting your eyes from the sun's harmful rays, sunglasses, also play important roles in showing your personalities and adding complement to your wardrobe.

Take a clue from celebs and fashion types who know that the right pair of 1351.html">fashion sunglasses can add instant mystique, chic and polish to any look.

Styles

Fashion Sunglasses trends have taken their cue from runway and street fashion. Trendy tints span the rainbow, so look for a hue that flatters your coloring.

Wraps. Extending past the eye to the temple, this style "wraps" around the face.

Shields. One-piece shields have a modern look and are often partially rimmed or rimless and come in a wide range of tints.

Aviators. Shaped like a teardrop, metal-rimmed aviators have enjoyed waves of trendiness since WWII when pilots favored this style.

Clip-ons. An easy way to convert prescription eyeglasses to sunwear, clip-on shades can attach with either clips or magnets.

Flatter Your Face.

In general, women should choose a pair of fashion sunglasses in a shape that is the opposite of your face shape.

Round faces look best in anything but round shades. Frames should make the face appear longer and thinner. In general, look for frames equal to or slightly wider than the broadest part of the face. Minimize the curves and add definition with soft, angular, rectangular styles or double brow styles. Higher temples will create a longer profile. Sunglasses with brow bars also pull the eye upward, making the face appear longer. A rounder face can carry off geometric shapes, ovals, wraps and shields.

Square face consists of a strong jawline, a broad forehead and wide cheekbones. Reduce the angles with soft, curvy styles that will give the face some definition such as cat-eye styles. The classic ovals also works well for this face shape.

More angular or thin faces look better in rounder frames; oval faces can carry off almost any style.

Purchasing sunglasses can be an exciting and overwhelming experience given the vast array of styles, designs and colors of sunglasses frames and lenses to choose from. With so many wonderful sunglasses to choose from, your sure to have at least a few pairs in your collection. When shopping for sunglasses it helps to know in advance what sunglasses frames look best on you. Whether you need there are sunglasses to complement every face shape, lifestyle and preference.

Not Enough Money?

I believe that most people haven't got enough money for everything they wish to have - the more you have the bigger your plans, and you have a feeling that you have less and less money.

Whether you have lots of money or just so-so, you need to economize and take proper care of your money ie your income, expenditures, savings and investments.

Below I give you 7 Golden Rules to a Financial Prosperity:

1) Always have several streams of income: never rely on one income from one source only. <
r>
2) As soon as you start to earn, start to put aside a certain amount to create an automatic money source: I remember I have always had my own portfolio since I was a child, and can tell you that I needed it several times. Even if you have property, you may find yourself in a situation when you need fast cash. In such a situation, you will not sell your property, but you can sell part or even the whole of your portfolio.

You don't need to start your portfolio with thousands of dollars, you can develop it.

You only need to set a rule that you won't touch it when you don't need it, and keep it for vital urgencies. To buy a better car or a bigger house is not an urgency.

3) Always take care of your money personally: it's not necessary to do everything personally as soon as you can afford it but never allow any other person to have a right to handle your money without your knowing, or your express approval. If you think that you don't have time to supervise this or that it's not important, you will have to find it later for much more unpleasant things when you lose your money.

Many of you will 'hate' me for what I'm going to say now and I will receive lots of disapproving messages but I have to say it: don't even allow your spouse to do this - love and money is not the right association, and I know what I am talking about. Keep these apart.

Don't supervise your investments and expenditures only - Always strictly collect your money. Never allow people to owe you - again: with no regard to how much money you have, always demand every dollar you earn to be paid to you.

4) Strictly distinguish between expenditures and investments: it's very easy to put everything as cost or overhead: don't do this. Apply an easy rule: expenditure or cost is money thrown out of the window - you can't expect any return money on it, while investment is desirable (of course, not every investment is desirable): this should bring you more money, more property able to make you more money - the only questions you should carefully consider are whether you can/should afford such an investment at the moment, how much you're going to get back, how fast and whether it is acceptable.

5) Keep your expenditures at the minimum with no regard to how much money you have: expenditures are killing for everyone. It's useless to tell you stories about big fortunes lost by unwise costs. I'm sure you know many yourself from your neighbourhood.

6) Avoid loans, don't borrow if you don't know for sure you can repay. Never purchase anything on future incomes or promises.

Just a little example: if I have a notice that a payment is on its way to my account and I need the money today for some reason (however, I can't see any reason like that :-) - never mind), I can borrow. But, if I think I will sell 1,000 books next week, I mustn't borrow.

7) You must always earn more than you spend. In case you don't earn more than you spend, then you must spend less. In other words, you must always be in green.

If you think that you must swap your car every six months even if you should borrow, then it may easily happen that you won't drive anything in a very short time.

I don't want to waste hours of your precious time by long essays on savings and wise advice. Just adopt one principle and whenever you want to do something with your money (- whether it's thousands or millions or just a couple of bucks), just think about it: take care of the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves.

#1 Affiliate Programs: Affiliate programs are usually described as when a company or individual pays for traffic that you send to their website that promote sales. For example, if I sent you over to FluxService, which is a webhosting company, and you signed up for hosting, or one of their other services, like programming or web design, then I would get a cut of the price of whatever you bought from them.

#2 Google Adsense And Selling Adspace: Selling space for ads is when other people make an ad and submit it to Google, or any of multi
le adprogram sites out there, and then you sign up on the other end, and put their ads on your site or blog. If people visiting your site click on the links, you get paid anywhere from a couple of cents to a few dollars. It's one of the most well-known ways to get paid for your blogging.

#3 Freelance Writing, Graphic Design, and Technical Knowledge: On websites such as Elance and
FreeLanceDesigners , you can sign up to bid for designing, programming, or writing contracts. If people like your work, you will get placed high in the list of "experts." From the Elance website, "Elance is a global solution that enables entrepreneurs and businesses to launch, build and grow their business from anywhere in the world. The Elance platform allows businesses to easily find, hire, manage and pay highly qualified professionals - for exactly what they need, when they need it.

#4 Trademark, or Patents: If you have some amazing idea for a program, or web design interface, or anything, you can patent it and/or sell it. Ashley Qualls, of WhateverLife.com, is a self-made millionaire at the age of 17. She had this idea for Myspace designs, for people to put on their pages, and started a small website, to show her friends her ideas. Some other people stumbled onto it, and although she didn't spend anything on advertising, it traveled by word of mouth, and it was even mentioned on by a radio station. A small idea, for myspace designs, and now she's a millionaire. Do you have an idea that nobody else does yet? Sell it!

#5 Program support, for both software and websites : There are a lot of people that set up websites for people who don't know how to do so for themselves. The thing is, most of them don't advertise their services, or they do it in the wrong places. Even if you aren't the best out there, advertising and marketing will make you the most wanted for your skill and expertise. The people that don't advertise are leaving money on the table, by working for only word-of-mouth customers. (another article on marketing and advertising vs. word of mouth is coming soon)

#6 Virtual Assistance : As described by Entrepreneur.com "As a virtual assistant, you take on the nitty-gritty work for independent professionals and small businesses that don't need a full-time secretary or office manager. Your tasks may include secretarial work, meeting and travel planning, project managing, and logistics coordinating." I couldn't have described it better myself.

#7 Reviewing products : If you Google for "paid reviews" or "paid surveys," it will return hundreds of hits. Basically, you do a survey, or review a product, and then if that company uses your review for something, they will pay you for it. Some programs pay more than others, but their rules are more strict. It's just a matter of deciding what your capable of doing. If you have very good technical english and grammer, you will probably get ahead in this area.

#8 Blogging : This can be a very successful business, just ask John Chow. His personal blog, for random thoughts and notes, turned into a big (in the starting blogger's eyes) business. However, one thing to remember is, there are thousands if not millions of people out there trying to make money by blogging. You will really have to stand out, by making enough interesting content to actually make people want to come back and hear what you have to say. This one, out of all these tips, is probably one of the hardest for most people, because they just want instant pay-out. With blogging, you have to stick with it, and keep writing interesting content almost everyday for a while if you want to get noticed. The other ways, you can work when you feel like it, and then you get paid for the work you've done.

#9 Creating Website : I bet you didn't know that there are hundreds of people and companies that want a business presence on the internet. The thing is, they don't know how to find one, much less set it up or put their products on it. Do you hear an opportunity banging on your head, screaming at you to pay attention to it? Websites really aren't as hard to adapt and use as people think they are. One program that drastically simplifies web-page building, is Nvu. I highly recommend it for all beginning web-developers.

#10 Online Retail : eBay is the most used search engine on the internet, and there are over 49 million registered users. There are 103.6 million listings online at any given time, and around 1.3 million sellers use eBay to make their primary or secondary income. Think about that. It obviously means that enough people buy to make it worth the effort.

How to Work with Just About Anyone
"A Three-step Solution For Getting Difficult People To Change"
By Lucy GillPublished by Fireside/ Simon and Schuster 1999
ISBN 0-684-85527-5
206 pages

"I just can't seem to get along with this person!"

Every office has that one difficult person to work with, who affects productivity due to a terrible attitude, chronic
tardiness, or simply drives everyone else up the wall. Here is the answer to common proble
s in conflict management.
Dealing with negative behavior, whether at work or at home, can be solved with three steps:

1. Get to the heart of the matter.
2. Determine what problem-solving methods to avoid so you don't perpetuate the conflict.
3. Choose a different, surprising approach to solve the problem and keep it solved.

Finally, here is your key to some peace and sanity in the workplace, drawn from forty years of research and
professional experience in consulting on the prevention and management of nonproductive behavior.

How difficult behavior is reinforced:

People use the same solution that never brings new results. The answer is to try something radically different. Employ a
totally new approach and choose your response carefully.

Why we fail to change negative behavior:
1. We are caught in the web of our own logic.
2. We don't realize we are doing the same things over and over.
3. We can't think of anything better to try.

This three-question formula can lead you to a new strategy:
1. What is the primary problem? Be specific. How exactly does it affect productivity?
2. What have you been doing about your problem so far? Identify the logic of your favorite solution.
3. What do you need to do instead? You need to undo what your ineffective solution did. Attack with a brand new set
of weapons.

Focus on the facts. Figure out what the heart of the matter is:
1. List all the issues affecting you.
2. Decide which issue or who in particular is bothering you the most.
3. Encircle the issue or person's name on your list.
4. Focus on what you circled. List all the things that bother you about this person.
5. Now pick the problem to work on. If you could only fix one item on the list, and had to live with all the others, what
would you choose?
6. Then with the particular problem chosen, spell out specifically: Who is doing what that presents a problem, to whom,
and how is this behavior a problem?

The 4 ways to get bogged down in "whys" and therefore confused by superfluous issues:
1. Focusing on possible reasons for someone's behavior
2. Speculating about what the person is up to
3. Labeling behavior instead of describing it
4. Worrying about who is right or wrong

Use reverse psychology!

1. Do something unexpected. Sometimes shock tactics or being brutally honest works.
2. Encourage the person to keep doing what it is that is irritating behavior. It is strange but encouraging people to
continue their irritating behavior gets them to stop it.
3. Have fun experimenting with your new approaches!
4. Tell someone not to change what he is doing.
5. Create consequences or let the natural consequences of his negative behavior occur.
6. Urge someone to do the annoying actions even more

New Conflict Management Techniques
1. Do not offer a long list of reasons why someone should change. Simply tell them what needs to be done. The more
you rationalize or argue the more they will resist. You will be wasting time and energy.
2. In the face of constant criticism, silently take note of what is being said, then read the notes back – instead of
actively defending each point.
3. Make statements ("Unless it creates a problem for you, I'm going to do X")
4. Give a specific compliment to the other party in a conflict. ("I like the way you presented your report – your lineup of
facts made it easy to follow") It catches them off-guard and makes him/her less defensive.
5. Excuse yourself for a minute in the midst of a heated discussion to go to the toilet instead of escalating the argument.
6. Hold back for thirty minutes instead of rushing to fix a problem for someone else.

Other "happy workplace" tips:
1. Keep an open mind about why the person behaves in such a manner.
2. See both sides of the situation, not just yours.
3. Be very specific when analyzing the problem. Make a mental videotape of the behavior.
4. Notice when it isn't happening. Understand why. You may have overlooked something you did that didn't result in the
other person's annoying behavior.
5. Find someone with immunity and see how he or she successfully handles the troublesome behavior that you're
struggling with.

Crm And Small Businesses

Posted by Admin | 7:07 PM

CRM (Customer Relationships Management) appears to meandifferent things to different people. I haven't seen twodefinitions that really agree. The giant companies have manygoals when they speak of CRM. One that annoys me, that continuesto crop up, is the notion of immediate software response tocustomer requests. Sounds great. But when you read the fineprint, it also means less one-to-one company to customerinteraction. This is not a direction in which a small businesswants to move.

In the end, what these million do
lar CRM systems do or donot do, matters little to small businesses. The price tag istoo high for most.

Is "Personalization" The Useful Part?

The better approach may be to look at some aspects of CRM tosee what can be done with software on our website to provide ourvisitors and customers with a more pleasant and enjoyableexperience. It may help to exit the CRM derby, stroll down arelated path, and think of only part of it: personalization.

Neat things flow forth from this orientation. For example, maybe invite visitors to check on things new since their lastvisit. Or on specials for the day, specifically tailored to this visitor in some way. Or when a customer clicks a form to reorder, fill the entry fields with data provided earlier. A great time saver for the customer, something they willappreciate. Simple, effective things such as these can beabstracted from CRM models at modest cost.

Large Scale Models

Large firms with bucks to burn can make personalizationcentral to a new kind of website. At a minimum, each page canaddress the visitor by name. At the extreme, the entire site can be presented according to previous information collected about this visitor. For example, if the visitor has kids, and a appropriate new product is available, it can be offered. And not offered to another visitor without children.

Building a website on the fly is a bit heavy for a smallbusiness. The coding challenge alone is heavy. The price tagfor software is high.

Still, a small business can implement simple ideas assuggested above. And more will spring from these.

For Starters

As a fellow into site performance and promotion, I'm alwaysleery of anything that may annoy a visitor. Hits are so hard toget, there's just no point in inviting anybody to leave. So I'mvery concerned about any technology that risks turning visitorsaway.

I used a Pentium II PC for almost two years. Beginning abouta year back, some sites would not allow me to visit because Ididn't have the latest and greatest. Maybe the giants can getaway with this, but a small business can not afford to lose evenone visitor.

In most cases, the reason I could not visit was that mybrowsers could not handle the trick JavaScript in place. I've a new system now, just 4 months old. A couple of days back I ran into a site that told me my software is out of date.

I have the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Netscaperunning. That is, the latest what work. (I couldn't get IE 5.5to stop locking up my new system. And I don't know of anyone whohas Netscape 6.1 running yet; I couldn't make it work.)

To exclude any visitor because of the way a site is puttogether or the technology used, makes no sense to me at all. A small business can not afford this risk.

Let's Keep It Super Simple

Your site must seek to embrace all visitors, regardless oftheir software or hardware. So what is needed to make suchsystems work is a very simple recognition procedure. It might go like this.

When a visitor arrives, put up a page in straight HTML,without any bells and whistles that would break even olderbrowsers. (My wife still uses Win 3.1 on a 486, and won't eventalk of upgrading.)

Once the page is loaded, try running a brief JavaScript tocheck for a cookie. If the script fails, fall back and displayonly HTML pages. If the script runs, but does not find a cookie, ask the visitor if they would like a personalized visit about thesite. If no, forget it. If yes, get the information, save it,and use it. And finally, given a read of a cookie, personalizeas possible.

Will Bontrager , a top flightprogrammer, sees no problem in accomplishing the above. Further,he has a plan for holding costs down. Use a standard databasewith all possible fields, all of which will not be needed by agiven site. By holding to a standard format, the great expenseof a customized database installation is avoided. While Will did not put a price on it, a few hundred dollars might be ample.

With the database in place, JavaScript can handle a vastarray of personalization functions. If you don't want to getinto writing this kind of code, libraries and code generatorswill provide you with workable code that can be cut and pastedinto your pages. And, of course, there are people like Will, who will produce precisely what you need.

It's Past Time To Be Thinking

I ignored early announcements of CRM because there did notseem to be much of value to a small business. Which is the areain which I and my clients work.

I see now, though, that there are some things that can bedone in a simple, straightforward way. So long as we do notreject any visitor for lack of the latest tools, we can make the visit to our site more personal and more enjoyable for many.

Selling through online auctions is a great way to earn extra cash or even start a full-time business. When you find your one stop online auction shop that's just right, it can become a very lucrative business. There are many auction websites, but you'll want to find a site that best fits your selling needs. Here are some tips.

Be an Auction Lurker

Before listing your items, observe the auctions for a while. See what's hot and what's not. Every auction site will have its own unique audience. Some will attract mor
of certain types of buyers than other auction sites. For more details www.auction-words.com The auction company might advertise more to certain groups of people using banners or paid search
engine listings. If you're selling wholesale products
, then you will naturally want to list with an auction shop that attracts wholesale buyers who are looking for great bargains. If selling household items, you'll want an audience of people who buy household auction items.

Also, observe how the site operates on a day-to-day basis. Do the auctions seem to end with more bids on certain days of the week or a certain time of the day? For instance, auctions that end on late Saturday night get more bids than those ending on a Tuesday night. Lurking at different auction sites will help you find a one-stop online auction shop that's right for you.

Test Your Auction Items

When searching for your one stop online auction shop, try several test auctions with some of your items. Monitor the response as well as the amount of traffic the listings receive during the auction's running time. Many auction sites allow you to place a visitor counter on your auction pages so you can know how many people view your auction. If you sell many types of products, advertise several items from a few categories.

Minimize Auction Expenses

There are many online auction shops that offer free or low-cost listing capabilities. Some auction sites only take a percentage of each sale while others may charge a fee for each listing whether you sell or not. Those auction sites that offer free listings and/or only take a percentage of each sale are very beneficial to you as a seller. You only pay when you sell items instead of paying high fees just to advertise your products, so you are taking no risk when listing your items. For more details www.auction-professional.com Though these auction sites may have smaller amounts of traffic than the larger bidding sites, you might find the savings will make it worth your while. After all, auctions are supposed to be "bargain" sites, right?

Some auctions charge a fee AND take a percentage of each sale. These may have more traffic, but the charges add up in a hurry and every listing can become a financial risk when you're just starting out.

With so many options, you can easily find a one-stop online auction shop that fits your budget and listing needs. Use these tips to find that perfect online auction shop and sell those unwanted items today!

Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising is used by many to generate targeted visitors to their websites. This is paid advertising and one must know how to perfrom PPC effectively before parting with their money. This article discusses 5 easy ways you can use now to make a successful PPC campaign.

Pay per click (PPC) is the quickest way to send targeted visitors to your website. But before you dive into pay per click advertising, know how the game is played first instead of losing hundreds of dollars for nothing. Below are 5 simple t
ings you can do to create a successful  PPC campaign and attract targeted buyers to your website.

5 Ways to Effectively Attract Buyers

1. Your keywords should appear on your URLPay per click is a game of keywords. You have spent time on choosing the keywords for your ads but a lot of people neglect displaying the keywords on their URL.

If you're targeting the keyword 'profit with adsense' then your display URL should have this keyword phrase in it. Eg. www.yourdomain.com/profit-with-adsense.html

Visitors looking at your advertisement will see the URL and will assume that the website contains information specifically to what they are searching for.

This will increase the click through rate (CTR) of your pay per click campaigns because Google Adwords for example, will decrease the cost of your clicks if your click through rate is high.

You are getting more clicks for a cheaper price. 2. Test the position of your advertisementThe majority of inexperienced internet marketers will try to bid their clicks for the first position. Various tests have shown that the first position is not the best position. The best positions are 3rd, 4th or 5th.

The reasons are that many visitors will click on the first position and second position. However, for serious buyers (which are the visitors you want to attract) they tend to click on a few more ads because they want to find out more and compare.

So if your PPC ad is on a few positions below the first and second position, it will have more chance of being the last ad they click on. This means they are more likely to buy from you if the offer is better than the previous ones they've seen.

3. Test the keywords of your PPCIf you have an ad which is getting a lot of clicks, do not alter it. There are some elements there which are attracting people to click on it. You need to use it as a 'control'

Create an extra ad and play around with the words that are similar to your 'control'. You need to continuously try and see if you can beat the CTR of your PPC 'control'.

Many people make the mistake of altering their "control" and cannot get back the CTR because they forgot what their 'control' ad looked like.

4. Your landing pageOnce the visitors click on your ad they will see your landing page. This page needs to contain information specifically to what they are searching for. The keywords need to be displayed on the browser's title and also a headline displaying the keywords is essential.

As soon as your webpage confuses the visitor and they think it is unrelated to what they have clicked on, they'll leave immediately.

5. Have an email capturing processNo matter if you want to sell your own product or an affiliate product, you need to capture the email address of the visitor on your landing page.

You have paid for the click so now you need a way to communicate with the visitor regularly and have them become your loyal customer. If you're not capturing email addresses on your landing page then you're not doing PPC marketing properly.

Pay per click costs money so you need to spend time learning how to maximize your dollars. Using these 5 simple techniques you now have a good chance of creating a successful PPC campaign. However you need to also spend time studying different ways of generating web traffic. I spend my time generating traffic using other techniques which are just as effective as PPC.

No matter where you live, landing lucrative writing assignments doesn't need to be difficult. The secret to a profitable freelance writing career is to start small and build it from there. Another secret… you must remember to promote your business on a REGULAR basis. Don't shoot off a few ads or letters, and then wait three months before launch another campaign. Promote your business DAILY.

So here's your first technique: Approach your local newspaper editor. Ask if they need a freelancer to cover city council,
school board, and/or county board meetings. If they do, you're on your way earning a living as a writer because you're about to earn tons of clips. You'll also start making valuable business contacts. More on that later…. Armed with your local clips, you can start approaching bigger freelance markets. Markets like small and mid-sized magazines that are hungry for new articles. Start querying them and wait for their response. (Technique 2) While you're waiting to hear from your magazine queries, chat with few of the mayors, city council people, school board members, etc. that you've met at your meetings. Most of them are business people. Ask if they need a freelancer to update their brochures, write ads or direct mail letters, or if they need a writer-for-hire for a project they have brewing. You'd be surprised how many business people will take you up on your offer after they've witnessed your diligence and accuracy while covering their meetings. (Technique 3) Now target local businesses and contact them. Offer to write their marketing materials. (Technique 4) To start attracting more commercial clients, run a small ad in your local paper. As your expertise increases, place more ads in surrounding papers. (Technique 5) Join your local Chamber of Commerce. You'll meet even more business owners who may need a freelance writer and you'll make invaluable contacts. (Technique 6) Send out a direct mail piece advertising your writing services. If you're not comfortable writing direct mail, you can put together a newsletter. Target the businesses you'd like to work with and make sure you contact them on a regular basis. (Technique 7) Another technique to keep the money rolling in as a freelance writer is to keep lots of irons in the fire. Along with the magazine queries and copywriting, always have a book in the works and send publishers proposals for it. Another idea: I know one local freelancer who has cultivated a devoted clientele who has her write all their correspondence… including Christmas letters. Your projects are limited only by your imagination. (Technique 8) Make goals each day. Decide how many queries you'll send out. Decide how many sales letters you'll mail. How many words are you going to write in your book? How many new contacts are you going to make this week? Make your goals… then follow through with them. (Technique 9) Ask and you may receive. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want. If you're a stringer for your local newspaper, ask the editor if it's possible for them to run a small ad promoting your business at a discount (after all you're a staff writer.) If you write for local businesses, ask them to recommend your writing services to their friends. (Technique 10) Never tell anyone your phone number. GIVE it to them. Print a bunch of business cards and whenever anyone asks for your phone number, give them your card instead. (Technique 11) Network. Make friends in the freelance writing. Give each other leads and help each other become the best writers you can be. (Technique 12) Carry your latest project with you. If you've written a book, bring it wherever you go. If you just finished a big copywriting project, have it nearby. Got an article in the latest issue of a magazine or newspaper? Better bring it with you…. Nothing sparks a conversation faster than "What 'cha been up to lately?" Then, next thing you know, you've got a prospective customer. (Technique 13) I know, I know… I promised twelve strategies to start making money ASAP as a freelance writer. But I got on a roll and thirteen (I've heard) is an unlucky number so here's one more strategy. Read. Read everything you can get your hands on. If you write novels, read novels. If you write direct mail, read EVERY piece of direct mail those lands on your doorstep. If you write ads, read ads. Read what your competition is writing. Read what your friends are writing. Make note of what "works" for you and what doesn't. Then write something better. Read e-mags that will help you make your writing as sharp as possible. Perfect your craft, become the best writer you can be, promote your business, and you'll have more work than you can handle. So there you have it. Fourteen fantastic strategies to land lucrative writing assignments and make a great living as a freelance writer. The possibilities are endless. Find out what works for you, then run with it. You just may find yourself earning a very nice income.

There are (at least) 10 absolute musts for anyone who desires to run a successful online home-based business.

1. Thou Shalt Not Pursue A Free Lunch:

Chances are, you will not get rich quick. Deal with it. Don't waste your time convincing yourself or listening to others who tell you differently. Hard work and perseverance will not fail you.

2. Thine Products Must Solve A Prospect's Problem:

We humans are greedy creatures most times. We want comfort, ease, peace of mind, and a plethora
f other self indulgencies. Put yourself in the customer's shoes and ask "What's in it for me?". If your ads or products do not clearly spell this out, and tell the customer how you will give him what he desires, most times you will not make the sale.

3. Thou Shalt Educate Thyself:

Read, Read, Read. Observe other successful people in your field. What are they doing? Read some more.

4. Thou Shalt Budget For Advertising:

Free advertising is an oxymoron. The only people reading free ads are the ones who are placing them there, and all they're looking for is their own ad, not yours. Instead, learn all you can about your target audience, and find them. Whether it is through pay-per-click advertising using highly targeted keywords, eZine ads, banners on related sites, etc. Don't go after the general public. Go after people who are looking for your type of product or service. Allow a certain monthly expense for advertising and stick to it.

5. Thou Shalt Track Thine Advertising:

You made a sale! Congrats! How did the customer find you? If you have 10 different ads on 10 different sites, how on earth will you know which one(s) are working? View your server logs to see where the users came from. Create unique URLs to use in each ad. For example: http://www.yourdomain.com?ad1 http://www.yourdomain.com?ad2 etc. Just add the ?ad# to the end of the URL you post along with each ad. Change the # for each one & for goodness sake, write them down somewhere! StatCounter.com offers a great free service that will assist you in tracking your visitors.

6. Thou Shalt Tweak:

Familiarize yourself with the term "split-run". A split run is where you take 2 ads and send them out simultaneously and measure the results to see which ad pulled more clicks and sales. You take the better of the 2 ads and create another one. Run a split-test again with your best ad & your new ad. The winner moves on to the next round. Repeat this process often.

7. Honor Thine Mailing List:

Your current and previous customers are an incredible source of revenue for you. It's a shame that many online business owners neglect this each and every day. Stay in touch with your prospects by sending an email or printed newsletter or flyer. Offer them special discounts and loyalty bonuses. If you forget them, they will surely forget you.

8. Thou Shalt Not Be Hindered By Failure:

You will fail. Period. Dust yourself off & get back on the horse. It is part of your education. Learn from it and move forward.

9. Thou Shalt Duplicate What Works:

Commandment number six goes hand-in-hand with this one. The wonderful thing about doing business online is the ease at which you can scale-up your operation. If you find something that works, do it again, and again. Reach a larger audience. If you've found a successful niche as an affiliate with a mini-site, set up 25 more sites.

10. Thou Shalt Reward Thyself:

You need some time away from the computer. Go outside. Go shopping. Visit friends. Buy yourself a new toy. Read something non-technical, fiction maybe. You've earned the right to treat yourself. Make it a habit or it will become a resentment.

Do Not Buy Leads!

Posted by Admin | 6:45 PM

Here's why...You can get the same amount of traffic for free by building relationships online and you can get better quality this way. Join social networks, and make your presence known to people. You do not want to blatantly advertise like I have seen many people do and it's a real turn off. It just seems like they are trying to gain a quick buck.

You want to build friendships. Leads that are bought usually never convert well at least to my experience. Get to know people on sites like MySpace and Facebook. I don't like man
of the social networks that are solely for marketing because there is usually lot's of spam and lot's of competition. You should be in the mindset of quality rather then quantity. If you have money to invest, it should be on something to expand your knowledge... not 1 time leads that might not do anything for you. At least with information products you can learn something new that you can put to practice.

One thing I also notice is that people are always ready to quit early and never look into the future of their business and move on to something else for a quick buck. When I joined a few programs in the past... I noticed one of my sponsors constantly moving onto something else quickly and never really taking the time to take to their affiliates.

It's not a bad thing to join multiple programs because it's a good way to make multiple income streams. You want to take the time to teach your referrals exactly what you do to build their business so that they can ultimately do the same and build their business thus making you more money. That's why it's the best thing to build a relationship with them rather than promoting randomly.

I have recently joined a great internet income opportunity called the Free Cash Machine that I thought I would share with everyone. Everything has been going great with it so far.

Container Shipping

Container shipping as the term suggest is the carriage of large or bulk containers from one place to the other. This may sound easy; but in fact container shipping is one of the most challenging parts in setting and running any industry.

Container shipping as the term suggest is the carriage of large or bulk containers from one place to the other. This may sound easy; but in fact container shipping is one of the most challenging parts in setting and running any industry. Container shipping is not car
ied by any ordinary ship but requires a burly ship having loads of space. These specified ships are termed as "cargos" and the process "containerization".

Container shipping is mainly part of commercial transportation and logistics sector, better calling it lifeline of these sectors. Today no freight forwarding, logistics or supplying can be conceived without container shipping. You will be amazed to know that containershipping is one of the largest contributors to global economy. Very much related to the stream, container tracking has also been facilitated with wholesome exposure of modern technology and investors.

As Nasdaq sputters along in dot com shame, a few million few dogged Internet
consumers have ignored the crash. They continue to happily buy away. The
good-news story is not popular with business writers, but Web retailing
continues to grow seemingly unaware that the online mall is crashing down
around them as they choose garden tools, sell sports cards and order vacation
packages. Things aren't perfect. There has been somewhat of a dip since
Christmas, but I think most Net retailers can live with a post-holiday. <
r>Retailers have weathered after-Santa blues since the English switched from
wassailing to kids toys in the mid-1800s.

We decided to take a look at recent reports on Internet retail sales just to
see if the Net stock gloom was blunting the steady expansion of online
commerce. We found some softening in the rate of growth, but we certainly
didn't find any contraction in consumer behavior. The shrinking effect right
now seems limited to the number of dot coms rather then the number of
consumers. In fact, if you subtract the bizarrely heightened expectations for
the Internet, its growth is coming along just fine. By any standards other
than the Net-boom mentality, Internet expansion continues to be fairly
spectacular.

Net buyers hit ten quarters of continuous buying

Greenfield Online reported that for 10 consecutive quarters, 60 percent of
U.S. Online consumers have made at least one purchase on the Web within a
90-day period. And 28 percent of these shoppers have clicked on Internet ads
while shopping. Not surprisingly, those with an annual income of $50,000 and
above are more likely to purchase goods (81 percent) than those whose income
is below $50,000 (64 percent). Women on the Net buy at a slightly higher rate
(74 percent) than men (71 percent). The top categories of goods continues to
be books and CDs, followed by clothing, toys and computer software.

Rich buyers seek service basics online

Forrester Research looked at the shopping habits of rich consumers, those
with investable assets on $1 million or more, and found that these shoppers
are more interested in strong basic serve than they are in virtual
exclusivity, extravagance and entertainment. Affluent shoppers have been
buying linger, feel more comfortable buying, buy more frequently and, of
course, spend more money," said Ekaterina O. Walsh, a senior analyst at
Forrester. "They buy online for the same reasons for the same reasons that
all online buyers do and care about price and positive experiences with Web
stores." Forrester recommends that sellers of luxury goods should concentrate
on purchasing ease and a convenience return process.

Visitor traffic dips

PC Data Online found that traffic to leading ecommerce sites declined about 4
percent in February following an 18 percent seasonal drop in January. Goldman
Sachs analysts cited port-holiday seasonality, a slowdown in the rate on new
consumer adopting ecommerce and slower overall consumer spending as the
factors in the slower month-by-month growth of Internet retailing. However,
this year's figures are up 63 percent over last year. Hey. Did anybody see
that? I'll say it again. We're up 63 percent over last year! Some blues.

Features that will keep your sales growing

Consulting giant PricewaterhouseCoopers released a survey that identified the
site features that are most likely to capture sales. The research found that
with the exception of search capabilities and close-up product views, most
Website features are never used by the majority of Internet shoppers. The
search function is overwhelmingly the top feature used by consumers, with 77
percent saying they have used search functions while shopping.

Other site features such as wish-lists and personalization were found to be
less important to shoppers. As a side note, we found a study by the
International eRetail Association that listed wish-lists as a tool that works
well for building loyalty, so go easy on making assumptions based on Internet
studies.

The take-away on all of the recent information about Internet retailing is
that it continues to grow rapidly in spite of the gloom that fills the
business media. To paraphrase Mark Twain, the rumors of the death of retail
ecommerce have been greatly exagerated.

Leaflet distribution London

Posted by Admin | 6:44 PM

As more and more business runs directly through cyber space, do the traditional route of door to door advertisement stand a chance of survival.

The internet, pretty much the biggest thing on the planet in this day and age, certainly the biggest medium for business advertisement. The web is so big that entire lines of games and software wont even work without online validation.

It is now taken as a given, that everyone and anyone is online. We know have major web sites, targeting individuals unique
y, based on their chosen interests, beliefs and choosen proffessions. Myspace being a perfect example. Each profile is taylor made by the individual and that individual gets his or her own set of laser targeted adverts. With this type of business medium well established, you have to wonder what the future holds for the older tried and tested aspects of advertisement, leaflet distribution being one of them.

Although still a fairly prominent form of advertising, leaflet distribution will surely fall on harder and harder times as the web becomes ever more encompassing.

With the various types of distribution: solus and news share being two that spring to mind. They are only as effective as the targets customers they reach and if that customer disregards the information by throwing the leaflet away, it pretty much ends there.

Not so with the web as many have seen with the phenomenal effect of viral marketing. Stories are heard all the time of one person submitting one cleverly constructed heading to one of several popular social news sites like "digg" and within hours, they have had enough visitors to crash their hosting company's server several times. This sort of targeting is like comparing nuclear power to a steam train.

Time can only tell as to where the older forms of information advertising will end up. The beauty of business is that you can never tell whats in store in the long run. Trends can change, companies can revolutionize the entire shape of media and one individual can change the world from a bedroom.

I bet you may have many of the same thoughts I used to have in my early days of Internet marketing. I was always thinking to myself, If only I can come up with that one big idea... I'll have it made!

Come to find out, I discovered that way of thinking is very destructive. Here's why:

One idea I always dreamed of somehow imitating was the pet rock idea from the early 80's (at least I think that is when it was). The guy sold ROCKS in cute little boxes which had care and feeding instructions printed on them. What an idea
He made millions!

I wasted a lot of time thinking there was something just like that which would come to me and I too would have instant riches…hey, this is America! It is just the good ole' fashioned American dream we all have…right?

99.999% of successful people DO NOT become successful instantly. Success for most of us comes in very small chunks - a little here…a little there…and so on over weeks, months, and years.

But guess what! Those tiny successes ADD UP! Besides it is MUCH easier to have a very small success than to have a giant one. None of us will ever likely have that giant success which makes us instant millionaires. I for one do not count on that type of lottery luck anymore for my success! It simply gets in my way of creating all the mini-successes I am getting good at producing.

I am very satisfied with my little successes. If I can put something together in a day or two which will generate me just $100 dollars per month, I am VERY happy! Think about it. If I spend just 12 hours on a project which will make me over $1000 per year…for at least several years to come (if not longer)…that is a pretty good hourly wage!

If you stay with Internet marketing and dedicate yourself to learning it, those kinds of little successes are not that difficult to produce. Just imagine the possibilities of being able to crank them out on a regular basis!

It is FAR easier to have 50 little successes which you reap the rewards from on an ongoing basis than it is to have one giant success!

Here once again I am led to remind you about those 3 little words which are guaranteed to bring you success:

The internet has opened up many doors to people who are looking to make money online. You no longer need to commute to office and from office, while working 9-5 to make a living. However don't be fooled by the many scams out there that promise to make you rich overnight without a stroke of work. You can't become rich overnight but you can work towards a sizable monthly income you can live off in style.

Make money online with Paid Surveys

You have read the ads that say take a survey and earn cash; they may
also be advertised as get paid for taking a survey. Paid surveys are a great and easy way to earn cash, you don't need to put in much effort just fill out a short form, by answering a few questions, mostly related to a product or a service. Put in your honest opinion and you will get paid. However watch out! There are many traps they may try to lead you to, for instance you may have to work to a specified amount before you get paid, most of them will need to you earn at least $50 before you can cash out. Now $50 dollars may not be much if you are paid a dollar for each survey but most surveys will only pay you a few cents per survey, which can possibly take a few months to amount to $50. So before you press the 'I Agree' button make sure you read the terms of service.

Click for cash

Many websites will offer you money to click on links on for them. This is a good way to make money online. They may range from $.001 to $.10 per click. A good idea is to sign up for as many of these sites as possible and just filter through the ones that pay negligible amounts. However many of these sites are littered with various types of adware that may install on your computer and monitor your activities and well as cunningly send information to the admin of that website. So before you sign up, make sure that there are a legit business, because light click for cash business wont install malware or adware on your computer.

A friend of mine stopped by the house a few days ago and had some questions about making money on the Internet. I thought that this would make a good article on the topic of whether or not you should buy an affiliate program on the Internet.

First, Joe asked what I am doing to make money on the Internet. He knows that I am a freelance writer, but he just didn't get what that had to do with making money on the Internet. I assured him that you do not have to be a writer to make money on the Internet and become wealthy. But, I
ointed out that the best decision I made as a freelance writer was to buy an affiliate program.

I also told him that he needs to know this one fact before proceeding: YOU can make money on the Internet. It is not difficult to learn, but it takes motivation, desire and drive to get it done. I also stressed this point: that there are no get-rich-quick schemes that work. In fact, if you see any advertisements that look like them, do the best thing: turn and run.

I told him that the best and most credible programs ALWAYS tell you up front about the amount of work that it will take to get you where you want to go. And, they will also tell you that it takes money to become wealthy. You will need to purchase some tools to help you as you go along. I got a chuckle out of him when I asked him if he expected money just to come pouring into his bank account. The only way that happens is if you win the lottery!

I asked him how much he knows about Internet marketing. He stated that he does not know anything other than the spam emails that arrive in his inbox.

I told him that as long as he has the right tools, and the drive and desire, he needs to buy an affiliate program that will help him reach his goal of becoming wealthy. I broke it down this way:

Tools you need: A computer, Internet connection and an email address. That is the bare minimum. You might want to try to save a little money in order to create your own website. But that is purely optional.

The drive and desire has to come from within. Often times, adversity spawns change. We change because we are unhappy with where we are. That is where I found myself and I used that as motivation to make changes in my life. I am happier and on my way to making a career out of Internet marketing.

Finally, get hooked up with a program that will help you reach your goals. I stressed again that he should buy an affiliate program that is reputable. Not only will they set realistic expectations up front, but the best always offer a great online marketing course. And, to me the most valuable part of any affiliate program is the community of like-minded people who are all doing the same thing. You get connected with those who are not only going through what you are, but also those who have been there and can help you get where you are trying to go.

Joe walked out with his questions answered and a determined look on his face. I know him well enough to know what that means. He is going to buy an affiliate program to help him become wealthy. And he will not be sorry that he did.

Make no mistake; there are literally thousands of potential tightly niched markets out there. Markets abound! Your first job is to find one, and discover what it is the market wants.
Then, and only then, do you consider what kind of products or services you might be able to supply to that market. Notice I said "wants" as opposed to their "needs."

This may sound like a rather profound statement; but the fastest way to a debtor's prison is to find a NEED and try to fill it.

The market you want to find
is one that really, definitely, badly wants things. Mothers want to know how they can nurture their children better, fishermen want to know how they can
catch more (or bigger) fish etc.

I mean it! If there's one thing I hope you really get from this article, this is it! There are different levels of need, starting with the basics. We're talking about survival here. There is food, water, shelter, clothing and even paying taxes. These are the things we need to have, or do, on a regular
basis. Without fulfilling most of these needs, our very survival is threatened.

We need to eat in order to survive, but we can still do so on food that tastes awful. People from third world countries often lack more than the most basic food, but they can still continue to live on it.

I've visited temples and monasteries in countries like Burma and Tibet, and seen monks eating their one small meal a day... the same ghastly menu every day. These are places where food
is not meant for enjoyment, but is needed for survival.

There is a second level to these needs. We need tasty food. We need decent clothes, nice shelter etc. So are these
things really needs? We need shelter, but do we need nice shelter? Do we really need tasty food and decent clothes. What we are talking about is "wants" as opposed to "needs."

Think about it, the things we need in order to survive, revolve around breathing oxygen, assimilating nutrients etc.

Almost everything else outside of that is actually a WANT! Pizza instead of a handful of grain or plant roots, a
4 bedroom home rather than a lean-to, a car rather than a donkey, a pure wool suit rather than a piece of sack cloth.

If we look more closely at those things that define a "want", as opposed to a "need", we find that a want is most often defined as something that is desired. Other words that describe a want are craving, wish, or fancy. None of these words pertain to need. We can survive without something we wish for, crave or desire.

A want is something people are willing to spend time, money and energy on. Do any of us really need a Mercedes Benz, or do we desire one? Do we need three weeks in Hawaii, or do we fancy it? Do we need a television, or do we want one?

We all seek out those things that we want - and we always will. That will never change. It is simply and forever a component of human nature. Throughout the passage of time, this fact has been demonstrated by nations wanting to
conquer other nations to create wealth and power. Such actions are motivated by the want for something better,
bigger, faster, safer, more beautiful etc.

If only searching for "needs" motivated us humans, then our world would not have advanced beyond a primitive state
of hunting and gathering. Progress is borne of our "want" for more and better things.

This article explains the top 4 reasons Network Marketers fail, and how they can overcome these obstacles to achieve massive success in their business

Network marketing is probably the best business model the average person can use to achieve real success in their life.

But most people fail miserably. Why is that? Well, first of all, it's important to realize that most people fail in any type of business venture. Look at the facts:

-95% of small businesses are out of business within the first five years according to
the Small Business Administration-According to the Social Security Administration, by age 65 only 1% of Americans are wealthy, 4% are financially independent, 5 % are still working 36% are dead, and 54% are flat broke.

So only five percent of people succeed in life. Just five out of a hundred businesses make it, and just five in 100 people earn financial independence in their lifetimes.

So if the problem isn't really the industry as a whole, but simple human nature, are ninety five percent of us doomed to failure and there's nothing we can do about it? Of course not! As a matter of fact, often times the difference between the successful and the not-so-successful is very small.

So, assuming you have the qualities of success, and you want to succeed in Network Marketing, it's important to know why it is most people fail, and how you can avoid the pitfalls.

So here are the four main causes of failure:

1. Lack of moneyThis one is a deal breaker for a lot of people. They just don't have the money to market their business. Often times, they joined the business and didn't understand that it was a business! But it is, and businesses need to be marketed.

The good news is that you don't need very much money. And with the emergence of the internet, I'm proud to say that the amount you need is going down while the results are going up. As a matter of fact, my leads now pay me! Talk about a paradigm shift. I used to spend hundreds of dollars every month marketing my business, now my marketing budget is funded 100% through my marketing efforts. More on that later.

The first thing you need to realize about Network Marketing is that it's designed to be part-time. There are people that desperately need to make money, that just flat out shouldn't be in the business yet. The idea is to have a J-O-B (Just over broke!) that makes you enough money to live on, and spend $50-200 a month on marketing your network marketing business. Once your business gets going, make sure and invest a portion of your income back into your business. I invested 20% of my commissions into my business for the first nine months, and when my Network Marketing income exceeded $4,000 a month, I didn't have to spend near that much any more. But investing 20% was more than enough to get my business up to a full-time income.

2. Lack of ActivityThis one will drive you nuts if you are a leader in your organization. You find somebody great, they have all the skills, they are willing to invest in their business, they look good, smell good, sound good, but they don't DO anything! And you spend your time coaxing, prodding, inviting, chauffering, paying for their convention ticket, but in the end it's all a waste of time. Remember the statistic: 95% fail in ANYTHING? Well, this is a major reason why. And you can't do much about this, all you can control is you. Here's the best advice I can give on this:

1. If you want your team to go into momentum, YOU have to go into momentum. 2. Work with the willing. Those that would rather watch the season finale of latest reality show, rather than work their business, just aren't going to the top with you. Don't waste your time. Keep looking!Remember, "You can run with a thousand, but you can't carry three." -Jim Rohn

3. Lack of People to Talk ToMost new Network Marketers are told to make a list of their friends and family, and talk to them.

Your "Warm Market" is a list of people that already know you, like you, and trust you. Warm Market leads are great because they are free, the problem is that most people in Network Marketing never graduate past their list of friends and family. And very few people are ever going to be good at cold market prospecting.

Those that do make it past the "Warm Market" phase start buying leads. These leads are purchased from a "Lead Broker". Purchased leads are easy to get, there are a million lead brokers out there selling batches of leads, in varying quantities. But I recommend that as soon as possible you learn to generate your own leads.

Self generated leads are the third type of lead. My favorite method of generating leads is through a "Funded Proposal". This method is a lot of fun, because it not only generates good quality leads, but it makes you money! For example, here's how I do it. I found a book on- line that I really like. It cost me $27, and has full re- sale rights. What that means is that I can sell the book for whatever price I want, and keep all the money. The book I sell is called, "Net MLM Profits". The reason I like to sell it is because it has so much good content for network marketers, teaching all the latest on-line strategies and skills network marketers need to succeed in their business. To market my e-book I have a Capture Page and a Sales Page where people can buy the book.

Now, this is where it gets fun. Who would be interested in a book about succeeding in Network Marketing? That's right, Network Marketers. Who responds to my advertisements and goes to my sign up page? Is the light bulb coming on for you right now? I hope so. You see, every month I generate HUNDREDS of qualified network marketing leads. And enough of them buy the book that it pays for my web-site, my advertising, and even makes a profit! It's the best system I have found for generating leads.

4. Lack of Skills and KnowledgeIn Network Marketing the buzzword for developing skills is "Personal Development". Every decent Network Marketing company that lasts long term has a culture of personal development. What is personal development? The best explanation I ever heard was this one:

1. Read at least 10 pages a day in a personal development book.

2. Listen for at least 20 minutes a day to a good audio.

3. Attend a live seminar at least quarterly.

These are three habits that anybody can work into their life. It doesn't take that much time to read ten pages, just give up one half hour date with the idiot box. And listening to 20 minutes of a good audio is easy for most people as well, because we spend that much time or more driving. And remember, personal development audios are available from the library if you are on a tight budget.

So those are the four main reasons people fail, and how to succeed in spite of them. It has been said that, "a problem defined is halfway solved." Hopefully just by identifying the four main causes of failure you can tackle your Network Marketing business with more confidence and enjoy the "Rock Star" income Network Marketing promises.

With the ability of promotional pens to be used any time and for any one, they certainly are one of the most useful promotional items available to an organisation.

Take a look at the list of options a promotional supplier has to offer you, and you are sure to keep checking the list for days to come. The promotional item grouping is indeed very huge and incorporates more options than you can actually think of. However, most of these products that are available within the pro
otional gift segment are very specific in nature. Most of the promotional gifts available today are  appropriate only to a particular audience type or are apt for only a particular occasion or purpose. A majority of the promotional items that are available to an organisation have well prescribed limits and are very explicit as far as their reach is concerned. None of them, really, have a generalised approach.

However, there is one promotional item that follows a rather indiscriminate policy and has a very generalised approach and that is the promotional pens. Promotional pens are one item that works on the policy of 'for one and for all'. This classic promotional item knows age no bar, class no bar and even occasion no bar. Simple but useful, promo pens can be used as per the whims and fancies of the user. The simplicity of these promotional pens is one of the prime factors that attributes to their unspecific nature. Promotional pens are one of the simplest items that an organisation can put to use. There is nothing really that one does not know or needs to know about these promotional pens. They have been in use for a long time now and continue to do so till date. The simplicity of these promotional pens facilitates their easy usage and application in every field.

Other than their simple nature, the universal utility of these promotional pens is also responsible for their generalised approach. Whether you cater to the elite section of the society or aim at the middle class genre, these promotional pens are going to be of great help to everyone. Be it the business executive or the little schoolboy, these promotional pens are equally going to serve one and all. Their ability to offer utility to every one makes them a promotional item with a broad spectrum. Thanks to technology, we have great sales and bargains available over the Internet, which have proved to be very reasonable and affordable. These world wide websites have given such a big opportunity to retailers to market their products on the net, which gives them huge sales and profits. The Internet has even proved to be very cost effective for retailers as they sell their products on the net, without extra costs of shops, man power and so on.

All women love perfume and invest a lot of money in buying the best. But most of them avoi
buying perfumes due to the heavy rush in stores and having to face rude salesmen. They despise leaving their homes in the heat, battling heavy traffic and paying a huge sum in parking fees. Thus an excellent option for them is to log on to the Internet and buy perfumes at their leisure. Just by the tap of their fingers they will get the best bargains.

The best part about online shopping is the convenience of shopping at any time of the day in the comfort of our homes and offices. However, many find it difficult and risky to shop over the net, as they don't get to see or inspect what they are purchasing. Most of us like to preview each item that we buy. For instance while purchasing a fragrance, we like to smell the perfume, spray it on ourselves and inspect it thoroughly. But the Internet does not provide this for us. Thus it is best advised never to buy perfumes online if you don't know the fragrance.

However, there is a solution to the problem. While going to the departmental store for your daily purchases, you could stop by the perfume counter and try out various fragrances and keep a note of the ones you like. You could then come home and purchase the perfume of your choice online, where you will get the best bargains.

Before purchasing your perfume online, make sure that it is an authentic online store. These days there are a lot of duplicate stores available online, waiting to swallow your money or obtain your credit card number, to make unfair use of it. Thus you should be careful of choosing the best and most popular online store.

To make sure that the online store is authentic and legitimate ask you friends and family if they have heard or used the store. If they have had bad experiences, they will warn you. You could also order a page of the website and search for the logo of authenticity. You can also search the consumer forum websites to see if there have been any negative reports on the online store.

Many online stores provide the service of Cash on Delivery. Even if they demand higher prices, you should always opt for this service to avoid cases of fraud.

The point of making quick money is not so you have that money, the point of quick money is that you have the tool to replicate your income. Would you agree with that? I think everybody would think the same in this, that making a quick $200 this afternoon would be nice and covering your rent this week would be nice to take some financial pressure off. But what if you could learn to make a few hundred dollars today and were able to do it every day, now that is a gift.

My point is that the system or the "way" you do it is what m
tters and not the money. Let's say you spent a buck on a lucky lotto ticket and scratched it off to find 3 pairs that was valued at a $300 dollar prize. You go back to the retailer and they pay you. Wow...exciting. A windfall.

But so what? $300 bucks slips through your hands quicker than a melting ice cream chocolate Sunday. But what if you were given the gift of knowledge, tools and skills. What if today you discovered not how to make a single few hundred dollars, but you actually were given the knowledge tools and skills to make $200 every single day or as much as you need whenever you need it.

Changing your thinking about money in this way can change your life. Change your attitude and you develop a new mindset. A mindset that is geared towards wealth and not instant gratification. Follow your mind when it comes to money and not your heart and you will always land on your feet.

If you need money now, like I mean in the next hour, try what I did. I am making more money now than in my old business and you can too, read about Martin Thomas in the link below. When I joined I was skeptical for just ten seconds before I realized what this was. I was smiling from ear to ear and you will too.

What happens when you view working on your business marketing as 'sacred time'? The concept of sacred time is decidedly right-brained and naturally feminine in nature. It inspires feelings of protection, nurturing and appreciation that can help make working on your marketing plans a priority. Here are four tips for turning your marketing strategy time into sacred time so you accomplish that which matters most.

You've heard it before, right?

How you're supposed to work on your business instead o
in your business? Sounds good, but how on earth do you make that happen when you're already stretched thin trying to get everything done in your day?

Carving out time to consistently work on your woman-owned business is actually quite simple if, instead of trying to "fit it all in", you shift your outlook about this important time.

Trying to "fit it all in" is a left-brained, logical way of looking at your time. It's a distinctly masculine viewpoint of time, which works great when you need to powerhouse your way through a project. But, it does not work as well when you find yourself butting up against the competing needs of clients, family, exercise, down time and other priorities.

Here are four tips for turning your marketing strategy time into sacred time so you can accomplish what matters most, even on your busiest days:

Small Business Marketing Tip #1: Create a ritual of beginning and completing your marketing tasks.Days that seem to run together are missing the important ritual of beginning and completing, a ritual that actually helps you feel like time is slowing down. So instead of letting your marketing tasks bleed through to everything else, create your own personal ritual that signals the start of your marketing for the day. One of my favorite rituals is to close out my email program, unplug the telephone and pull out my marketing to-do list. When finished, I just reverse my steps for a satisfying feeling of completion.

Small Business Marketing Tip #2: Clear space on your desk, even if just for ten minutes. If your desk is normally piled with papers and sticky notes, try moving everything off to one side so you have a nice, clean welcoming work space. You'll be surprised at how much more creative you are with your marketing plans when you (literally!) make space for them!

Small Business Marketing Tip #3: Keep it pretty.Who says marketing has to be unattractive?! I use pretty marking pens, colorful folders, pretty paper clips and sticky notes with inspiring messages printed on them to keep my marketing ideas and projects organized and fun. Making what we do a visual treat is an important part of creating a feeling of the sacred.

Small Business Marketing Tip #4: Don't let the needs of others trample your sacred time.Sacred time inspires feelings of abundance, importance and quiet. Think of it this way: you wouldn't play loud rock music in the middle of a sanctuary, would you? Of course not. So it makes sense that you wouldn't let other people interrupt your sacred marketing strategy time either.

By thinking of your marketing strategy time as sacred time you'll find it simple and easy to honor working on your business, so that your woman-owned business grows and thrives into the true expression of your Soul's Divine Mission that it's meant to be!

Have you ever given your all to something, experienced disappointments, and given up? What about when it comes to marketing your business? Do you sometimes get frustrated, doubt yourself, and then consider throwing in the towel? You won't ever give up again, not after reading this article.

"Never give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about." Unknown

Have you ever given your all to something, experienced some delays, encountered dis
ppointments, and then given up? What about when it comes to marketing your business? Do you sometimes get frustrated because the results you want aren't coming to you as quickly as you'd like, despite the fact that you bust your butt to see results? Do you then start to doubt yourself, your skills and talent, your ability to succeed?

You're not the only one. I know I've been there more than once since being self-employed. I have been tempted to quit on projects or promotions that weren't going strong on more than one occasion. And I've even contemplated giving up on self-employment when the chips were down and times were tough.

I remember being in my own practice less than a few years, and for a few weeks, things got really tough financially. It seemed like no one was signing up for my program all of a sudden, two (non-ideal) clients had decided to back out and money got really tight.

Was it a funk or was it a sign that I shouldn't be self-employed? I couldn't tell. I went into fear mode, wondering if I would have to go back to working in the corporate world, something I just couldn't bear to think about, but I just didn't see the alternative. I was THIS close to giving up and shutting down my business.

And then something happened. I was walking across Union Square in New York City, headphones on, listening to the radio and a song by Aaliyah came on the radio. The lyrics really spoke to me:

And if at first you don't succeed

Then dust yourself off and try again

You can dust it off and try again (Try again)

'Cause if at first you don't succeed

You can dust it off and try again

Dust yourself off and try again (Try again)

It was a good song and came at a good time.

When the song was over, I flipped to another channel on my Walkman. The SAME song came on. I listened to it and got chills up my spine. I thought, "OK, perhaps I shouldn't give up so easily. Maybe there is a way."

Not sure if you'll believe this, because I didn't at first. But I flipped to yet another channel. And yes, there it was. The song was playing again. The SAME song about not giving up, about dusting myself off and trying again. I got more than chills. My eyes welled up in tears and I stopped in my tracks. I stood there silently and made a commitment to myself: I was never going to give up. I was going to do what it took to succeed at this thing. And the rest is history...

YOUR ASSIGNMENT:

1. Don't give up. If the going gets though, if marketing becomes a challenge or you're not seeing results, keep persisting. Try a different approach. Look at what successful people are doing and do something similar (don't copyjust get inspired). Finish what you've been procrastinating, just don't give up. Success is right around the corner and most people give up JUST before they reach the top.

2. Look for support, a mentor, or a marketing coach. Learn only from people who are already successful or have achieved what you want to achieve. Mentor with people who live the life you want to live. Join programs or mastermind groups with others going through their own processes, so you know you're not alone (Try my new Inner Circle: www.ClientAttractionInnerCircle.com.)

3. Print up the following quotes on persistence and stick them on the wall next to your computer, tape them on your bathroom mirror and your refrigerator, whatever it takes to read them over and over again, to give you the strength to keep going. I'm rooting for you and I know you can do it. :)

Quotes to keep you in Client Attraction Mode, even when things get tough:

"Never, never, never give up!" Winston Churchill

"Never Quit. Don't ever, ever quit. Recognize that stopping now, regrouping to try a new approach isn't quitting. If you quit you'll regret it forever." Rudy Ruettiger

"Great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance." Samuel Johnson

"Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go." William Feather

"Character consists of what you do on the third and fourth tries." James A. Michener

"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all." Dale Carnegie

"A champion is someone who gets up, even when he can't." Jack Dempsey

"It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up." Vince Lombardi

"Let me tell you the secret that has led me to my goal. My strength lies solely in my tenacity." Louis Pasteur

"If you are going through hell, keep going." Winston Churchill

"When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on." Thomas Jefferson

"I think and think for months and years. Ninety-nine times, the conclusion is false. The hundredth time I am right." Albert Einstein

"When things go wrong as they sometimes will; When the road you're trudging seems all uphill; When the funds are low, and the debts are high And you want to smile, but have to sigh; When care is pressing you down a bit- Rest if you must, but do not quit. Success is failure turned inside out; The silver tint of the clouds of doubt; And you can never tell how close you are It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit It's when things go wrong that you must not quit." Online scam. Everywhere you look today in the Internet, you see offers and ads from websites that claim will make you rich. They are everywhere, it almost seems to be a plague. If their numbers are that great, than it can only mean that the number of victims are just as much. If there weren't that many victims for them, they wouldn't have such a great number and those websites would have long shut down. The fact is, those websites use a great deal of methods and techniques to trick their victims. Unprepared visitors to those websites
turn into victims at an alarming rate. But it isn't the victims fault for getting tricked. It is just that those online scam websites use quite a few psychological methods to confuse their visitors.

Based on my years of experience in this field, I will explain some of the techniques and methods that those websites use, in order to trick the unsuspecting visitor. One of the methods that those websites use, is using pictures, and fake pictures of money accounts. They try to entice their visitors by placing pictures of their accounts, which contain a huge amount of money. They claim that they made all that money by using the methods or products that they are trying to sell to their visitor. They may sometimes show visitors that they were able to make hundreds of thousands each month. They do this to get their visitors excited.

When some people look at how much someone else is earning using one method, they themselves believe that they will also be able to make just as much, or even more if they used the same method. This is a psychological attack that those websites use to bring out peoples greed. This will lead to those people believing or wanting to believe that the product will work for them. Although this method doesn't work on everyone, it does work on quite a few people. What many people don't realize, is that many of those websites will create a fake picture of their accounts. With the graphic softwares available today, creating your own or editing a picture is fairly simple, which contributes to this methods widespread use.

Another method that almost all of those online scam websites uses, is using testimonials. They will usually place those testimonials at the front page of their website to gain more attention. Testimonials are letters or signs of approval from other users who have bought the program and are successful because of it. This method places a sense of calmness in the visitor, and makes them even more willing to buy the product. The problem is that most websites misuse this. A testimonial can be easily created by anyone. Many websites create their own testimonial and trick visitors by placing someone else's name on it.

They will also place a different location for each one, and many will use locations from around the world, such as Kenya, China or even Cuba. They use these locations to give their visitors the feeling that their product can work for them no matter where they are. It is difficult to determine whether or not a testimonial is real or not. But a mistake by many of those amateurs does make spotting those fake testimonials easier. Most amateur use only one or two short sentences in their testimonials. Although it doesn't actually confirm that it is a fake, it does show that it has a high probability of being a fake. If that program really did make those people a lot of money and change their lives, they wouldn't have just written a short testimonial thanking that website.

Another method that many of those online scam websites use, is free gifts and promotions. This method has really become so popular that almost every websites are offering them nowadays. Most of these websites will claim that if you were to act quickly and buy from them now, you would get a huge discount. Many will even claim that you would get a 50% discount. They use this method to give people a sense of urgency in buying their product. The thing that many people don't realize, is that most, if not all of these offers are just decorations there that are meant to entice them. Almost all of the websites will claim that the offer is only valid for the next 50 people or it will only last until the end of the day.

But the truth is that those so called discounts will still be there even after six months. Another method those websites use along with the discount method is the free gift method. Often enough, many websites will throw in a couple or more of free gifts. They will claim that the product you are getting is worth ten times the amount you are actually paying. This again is to give their visitors the urgency to buy. But many people also don't realize that most free gifts a products that the website have created themselves, or products that has very little value. In worse cases, many people never did receive their free gifts. The websites will claim that their stock has just finished, or they will just ignore you completely.

Although there are other methods and techniques that those online scam websites uses, these are the most popular and the easiest to detect for a visitor. Using just one method alone will not bring those websites a high amount of victims. But using all of these methods can sometimes produce shocking results. The best way for not becoming a victim to those websites is to learn and understand the methods they use as well as well as understanding what works, and what doesn't. Always try to see the logic in their approach.

Every online business is faced with the challenge of
finding some way to get their web pages noticed from among
the billions of others online. So it's understandable that
much of our efforts go towards getting 'traffic'. Without
it, a website has no prospects and thus no sales.

But instead of a constant push for more traffic, why not
try to make the most of the traffic you already have? For
example, you might currently make 1 sale for every 200
visitors. With a few changes, you could make 1 sale for
br>every 100 visitors, effectively *doubling* your sales!

Here are a few suggestions. Test each one to see which
methods work best for your business - and don't be afraid
to modify them, too! The only way to know what's going to
work for you is to try it and track the results.

__1. Experiment with Popups or Popunders.

Many people have a strong dislike of popup or popunder
windows, so please use them judiciously. Some suggestions
on how you can use them include:

* A subscription box that appears only once per day for
each user (or once a week, or whatever time frame you
would like to use).

* A window that appears only as the visitor leaves your
site.

* A 'timed' popup that waits a few seconds or minutes
before it appears on the screen.

* A 'countdown' popup box that makes a special offer to
the visitor if he or she takes action within the next
5 or 10 minutes. The visitor can only click on a link
within the window if he or she wants to take advantage
of the offer... otherwise the window closes and the
offer doesn't appear again for a week.

There are many free scripts available all over the web.
However, if you would like a custom script written for you,
freelance programmers are one way to get professional and
affordable help: http://buildyourhomebiz.com/rd/gethelp.html .

__2. Experiment With Site Design.

* Add a select image or two. Do you sell an eBook? Or
perhaps offer a newsletter? Get a custom 'virtual cover'
designed for you. Or try using a prominent 'order now'
graphic.

* Simplify your page. More choices is not necessarily
better. Try removing some of the 'clutter' to help your
visitor focus more on what you'd like him to see. For
example, you could remove links to help minimize
distractions.

* Make your page more visually attractive. For example,
use black lettering on a light background (this is
easiest on the eyes). Use HTML tables to properly lay
out your site. Limit your use of different fonts and
colors, but at the same time use SOME color to add
visual interest.

__3. Make the Ordering Process Clear and Simple.

The ordering process should be as easy as possible --
make it difficult, and your visitor can leave with a
simple click-of-the-mouse!

* Clearly state the price. It is very frustrating when
the only place to find the price of the product is
on the order page.

* Reassure the visitor that your order form is secure.
(if it's not, it should be!) Many people still worry
about placing an order over the Internet, so anything
you can do to alleviate their worries can only help.

* Tell them what's going to happen after they order.
Will they be able to download your product instantly?
Will it be physically shipped to them, and in what
time frame?

* Provide a clear ordering link. I've gone to websites
before where I'm ready to buy -- only I can't figure
out how to place my order! It only takes me a second
to leave the site and go to a competitor.

__4. Build Credibility and Trust.

Ordering online can be very impersonal. Your visitors
don't know who they're dealing with, so it's your job
to show them that you're a business that they can trust.

* Give your visitors a way to contact you. And when they
do write or call you, answer them promptly, courteously,
and helpfully.

* Consider a FAQ page (Frequenty Asked Questions). If
there are common questions, for example, about shipping
time, fees, package tracking and delivery, etc. then
a page with the answers to these questions will help
to eliminate any uncertainty on your customer's part.

* Display testimonials from happy customers. This helps
to show new visitors how good your product really is,
and also helps to dispell any lingering doubts they
may have.

__5. Touch Up Your Sales Copy.

This is the most obvious and arguably the most important
part of your website. The best product in the world won't
sell unless you can successfully show your prospects how
it will benefit them. Work particularly hard on your
headlines -- they'll determine whether or not your
prospect continues to read the rest of your sales copy
(one good tool for quickly generating effective headlines
-- based on your answers to four questions -- is Headline
Creator Pro: http://onlinebusinessbasics.com/hcp/ ).
A good sales letter can make a significant difference
to your bottom line.

A reasonable amount of traffic is obviously necessarily
if a site is to make sales. However, you can still improve
your profits, just by making better use of the traffic you
already have!

The online retail marketplace has become more and more competitive in line with the explosive growth in sales volume in this channel. Online retailers need to work harder to achieve financial rewards as competition grows to attract shoppers.

The traditional response for online retailers competing for a finite number of shoppers is to make marketing ever louder and more intrusive with greater discounts. However the modern shopper is increasingly resistant to the overwhelming quantity of marketing messages they are bombarded with. I
this environment the rewards of increasing marketing spend are not clear cut.

Websites need to be smarter in securing and rewarding the loyalty of online shoppers in a marketplace where it becomes easier and easier to shop around for the best discounts. Clearly shoppers are attracted by bargains and discounts as much, if not more so, than increasing marketing activity.

Whats more, while marketing may attract a shopper in the short term, it will be discounts, good value and a rewarding shopping experience that wins loyalty in the long term.

Research by Verdict Consulting shows that it is not just discounts that drive traffic to websites, shoppers are directed by two main factors: search engines, and word of mouth. According to Verdict, search engines drive 48% of visits, and word of mouth follows with 42%. The problem with most search engines is they are partly driven by the popularity of websites &' the number of links to a website increases its search rankings making it more visible to the online shopper.

Therefore a site with low or dwindling popularity that dont offer rewards for shoppers, is less likely to be linked to, and less likely to get high search rankings. However, by focusing on word of mouth, we can directly improve shopper visits through increased visitors, and indirectly through links to the site from elsewhere.

How then can online retailers secure the financial rewards and boost their site via word of mouth? Simply by providing great value, discounts and a great shopper experience. The two most important factors which drive loyalty, and therefore word of mouth, are discounts and reward programmes. Shoppers who are thrilled with a site because of regular discounts, or who receive desirable rewards, are the most likely to tell their friends and family, to post links to the site in blogs and consumer websites they visit.

Another upside of reward programmes is they provide a wealth of information on shoppers. This information can be used to further improve discounts and rewards in areas relevant to shoppers, while saving money by reducing discounts and rewards which dont appeal.

How to  Overcome Financial Crisis In Your Business

Step 2. Step Back And Evaluate

Don't throw good money after bad. Remember that when you spend money on the product or for materials you can't get that back unless you sell it.

The rule here is that you never borrow money to keep the business going. It has to stand on its own two feet. Money can be injected if it is for a capital item that will over time produce improvement in profits.

Don't gamble! if you break this rule you do s
at your peril. Do a financial analysis on your personal expenses and your business. This is the starting point of any analysis. Fill in  "Doc 2" with the view of completing every detail accurately that is applicable to your situation.

All answers should be a yes for each question if your business is sound. If not, follow the steps at the bottom of the financial analysis to find out what percentage of financial crisis you are in.                                                                                                             Step 3. Cost Cutting and  Cash flow

Cost is your greatest enemy. Look at unnecessary expenses and find every way to eliminate them. This exercise should be conducted whether you or your business is in crisis or not. Determine if your advertising works. An ad must recover its costs in sales and expenses or shouldn't do it.

A business must have access to working capital. Some ways to enable you to do this may be:

1.    Overdraft from the bank2.    Credit line from the bank using your business or house as equity3.    Numerous credit cards4.    Fixed loans from banks, friends or relatives

Step 4. Managing money through your bank account  ("Doc 3")This is the easiest way to manage a business's cash flow and profits. The system is broken up into 4 (four) bank accounts:

1.    Business account2.    Business money management (overdraft) account3.    Tax and other yearly expenses account4.    Living account

Other considerations

ท    Has the business been given a reasonable chance to work ท    Have I cut all unnecessary costsท    Is my business expandingท    Are sales or work coming in regularly

Step 5. Too Close Or Not

I never like hearing of a business closing but sometimes it's best to close and start something else that has better possibilities.

If you've realistically cut expenses just to maintain a business and it still loses money each month and you can't see the possibility of improving your situation, close it down and start again.

However you had better learn from what you are doing now because the experience you gained on this business will be invaluable in evaluating and operating the next one.

SummaryEven if you aren't in crisis, cut costs. You will enjoy making a lot of money instead of just surviving. If you are in crisis act quickly and turn the ship around.

DOC 2                CHECKLIST FOR  FINANCIAL BUSINESS CRISIS EVALUATION

1    Can I pay my business expenses on time when due    2    Can I pay my business expenses without touching savings    3    Can I pay my personal living expenses when required    4    Can I pay my personal living expenses without touching savings   5    Are my personal and business accounts growing   6    Do i have enough money for holidays each year   7    Do I have a debt free credit card   8    Can I put some money into investment monthly   9    Do I have a savings account that holds 10% of all monies that I earn    10    Do I have enough money saved so I can survive for 6 months without an income in case of emergency

Total number of yes checks  ________  X 10 = ________Divided by 1.2 = ________

X 100%           = ________ % chance of being in a crisis

If your results are 15% or less chances are you have a good business. If your results are 16% to 33% you have a very good chance of tweaking your business to set it right. However if the results are above 33% the chart below will tell you what you should consider doing in your business to rectify and bring it into the correct balance.

Percentage    Action / Remedy16% or more    Make some small adjustments to your business or personal finances

33% or less      Make some substantial adjustments to your business or personal finances

50% or less      Make some substantial adjustments to your business and personal finances

60% or less      Make drastic changes to your business, personal finances and delay all / stop spending and get advice

67% or less      Make drastic changes to your business, personal finances, delay all / stop spending and get advice

76% or more    Make plans to wind up your business and think seriously about your future in business and starting again DOC 3

MANAGING MONEY THROUGH BANK ACCOUNTS

ACCOUNT NAME1 Business Account2 Business overdrafts Account3 Yearly expenses Account4 Living Account

PURPOSE1 Business expenses2 Working capital for cash flow purposes3 Tax and other yearly expenses account4 Living account

HOW IT WORKS (with every dollar you receive)1 Every cent goes into this account2 A cheque is drawn from account no.1 to repay any moneys that were used to perform your project and cover all expenses for the project including wages,

THIS ACCOUNT MUST NOT BE USED FOR/OR DRAWN UPON FOR ANY OTHER REASON

3 You bank your estimated tax % of the cheque you received from each job (usually it is about 20 – 30% of the profit)4 A cheque is drawn to manage the household living

BALANCE1 Positive2 Always leave neutralAt the end of each month one month in arrears3 Your work estimations should include the allowance for paying tax. This account will always be in credit.4 You can spend this account at any time

Notes:In an Internet business this is a little easier to do than in a traditional business. These are the things you have to ensure so that the above can happen. Firstly at the time of the job or business transaction that is accepted by a client, you go ahead and draw the cheques from the no 1 account. Hold them for banking until the customer has physically paid for the job.

Now this gives you the power to monitor the progress of the job. If you see for example that you are getting behind in time for the completion of the job, be prepared to stay and work longer on the job to keep within budget. In addition to that be on the look out to cut costs of materials and products that have not been specified in the quotation price.

In order to enable you to do this, you will have to make agreements with your employees and staff. The agreement, (which should not be negotiable when a business is in crisis) is that they will work back so that you can complete the job in the time you have quoted on. If you cannot get this commitment then consider alternative options for the offending employee's replacement.

Starting a new business is always a difficult step, depending on the vertical market you decide to take on there will always be competitors who will try to beat the way you do business, this is true as far as the brick and mortar businesses and it is also true for online based businesses, however, those online entrepreneurs have one key advantage, valuable information.

We all have heard that the principle of any business is to buy low and sell high, this is until there are enough competitors in the market and it reaches a point of equi
ibrium between the demand and supply. Small businesses rely on other businesses which are going out of businesses to get their merchandise at discounted prices, some even resort to yard sales to gather their valuables, antique shops are a great example; retail market is the business medium where we see that one man's garbage is another man's treasure.

Online entrepreneurs who take part on the retail market have struggled after facing fierce competition. The electronic good markets is a rapidly changing and the demand is often high, however, high demand doesn't always mean high revenue. At the moment we have thousands of retailers competing against each other on similar niches the prices start to drop until they reach an equilibrium point which may drive small businesses out of this sector. In some cases the equilibrium price reached is lower than wholesale cost at which the goods were purchased, so how does an online entrepreneur survive under such conditions?

A good recommendation is to diversify investments and explore new niches where product prices are not taken down by competitors. People are always looking for deals, and things get even better when these deals are coupled with the word: free. Free products are the best way to go as far as online businesses, there are many companies which try to build their brand by drawing attention to them by giving away free products, this is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to turn these advertisement methods into cash.

Several of these free products can be sold through online portals or auction sites to get the cash flow going. The types of free products out there range from baby freebies to automotive freebies, as long as there are businesses willing to give merchandise away in exchange for exposure, online entrepreneurs will have a way to build a positive portfolio even under extremely competitive markets.

http://www.FreeReallyFree.com is a great free stuff & freebies source where you can find many products free of charge. From free Clipart to free fonts downloads you are sure to find valuable giveaways.

Balance productiveness metrics are beneficial in increasing the output of an organization through a sophisticated and proven approach. These programs should be devised by experts or an individual having interest in the field if you desire a profitable output.

Productivity metrics is the best way to keep a check on your employees. It provides you with a measure of the productivity.

Balanced Productiveness Metrics or BPM includes the usage of both qualitative and quantitative data that is used to measure improvement
n productivity and performance. The primary objectives in the formation of balanced productiveness metrics is improving the productivity, quality and then finally reducing the risk through consistent procedures. These productiveness metrics primarily focuses on the core measures of SEI CMM (Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model) programs. Apart from that it also concentrates on the data accumulated for measuring the improvement in the processes.

Multi-dimensional approaches are necessary for measuring the improvement in productivity in a method, which also offers an appreciation of the factors that concerns environment and others that influences the productivity of the project.

Advantages of BPM. The Balanced Productiveness Metrics methods are utilized for measuring the efficiency with relation to the maintenance and development of the software. Balanced Productiveness Metrics are devised on the basis of certain management principles. These management principles used in improvement of productivity should be focused on accomplishing a suitable balance of cost (effort), quality (rate of defect) and time (schedule) improvement.

Such productiveness metrics are consistent with the philosophy of balanced scorecards. Since, such components of productiveness metrics can never be independently observed with relation to offering an assessment of valid productivity.

Is productiveness metrics similar to balloon filling. Balancing TCQ seems similar to balloon filling. The balloon burst when they are compressed or filled beyond the acceptable limit. If it does not burst and the compression is more in an area, the expansion takes place in the other part. Similarly, if the time (schedule) of a project is compressed beyond the acceptable limit than the outcome can be either failure or the cost (effort) related to the project, quality (defects) related to the project and production are increased in a disproportional manner that results an increase in the maintenance cost (effort).

If you take the reverse side of the coin then also you will get the formulated results. Schedules of the project can also be given a boost that can result in the reduction of the defects and the efforts. However, it might not provide the business value that you have desired at the time of the formulation of the plan. Henceforth, you require a more balanced measurement method for attaining the desired result.

Critical factors in attaining success from balance productiveness metrics

There are numerous factors that have been proved critical in the triumphs of the Balanced Productiveness Metrics:

- You should have an open path of communication between the client and your organization

- You should provide a support for senior management along with a documented statement of your policies

- A manage for client programs, metrics management of client performances, management of IT project and support to IT metrics groups should be provided along with other synchronized procedures

- You should have an accurate collection of data and size them on timely basis

- You can utilize qualitative and quantitative project-level metrics data to plan software projects and improve the processes involved

- You should also monitor the development in training, mentoring and communication aspects that has sound relation with BPM processes

Our first experiences of a new culture can be deceptive. We think we know how the new culture varies from our own because we have observed the outward signs: the way people dress, the food they eat, the language, perhaps differences in the way they work or worship. Yet these surface differences are not the ones that cause real difficulty. It is the hidden attitudes that can cause us frustration or anger and that can lead us to misinterpret people's behaviour. Some of the basic cultural oppositions are outlined below.

Monoc
ronic cultures are very time-oriented. People will be punctual, respect deadlines and resent any interruptions. They will set schedules and stick to them and they will be upset by lateness in others. In polychronic cultures, attitudes to time are very flexible. People are routinely late for meetings, they have flexible attitudes to working time, they don't mind if meetings are interrupted by phone calls or other people. They may not take deadlines very seriously and often will not be good at time management and forward planning, frequently leaving everything until the last minute.

Some cultures are essentially collectivist while others are highly individualistic. In collectivist cultures people expect to conform to the rules of the group; they will probably observe strict dress codes and they will see idiosyncratic behaviour as disruptive and anti-social. When decisions have to be made, then a committee will have the final say rather than one person. The individualistic culture is much more tolerant of eccentricity of all kinds and people are encouraged to take personal initiative.

If the culture is very hierarchic, people will be very conscious and respectful of status. In business dealings negotiating partners may wish only to negotiate with those they perceive to be at the top of the organisation. In contrast, flatter, more egalitarian cultures, are not deferential to people simply because of their social or company position. British culture is very hierarchical in comparison to, say, the USA or Australia. In Britain people use all sorts of titles to indicate where they stand on the social scale and certain groups of people, the royal family, for example, expect others to show deference by a giving a bow or a curtsy.

Some cultures are high context, by which we mean that messages are derived not so much from the words used but from all sorts of other signals such as body language, the way personal space is used, dress, the way a room or office is furnished, unspoken rules of behaviour. An example would be the old school tie in Britain. A man who wears his old school tie will be recognised by others who attended the same school and this recognition will entail all sorts of obligations on both sides. Only those within such a system can possible understand it. By contrast, in low context cultures messages are overt and clearly stated.

If you find yourself in a culture that is at the opposite end of the spectrum from you own, you may find it very hard to settle down and feel comfortable. By understanding these oppositions and by observing how they work, you can gradually begin to adapt to them and see them for what they are. I used to think that the unpunctuality of my French colleagues was very insulting, but I now accept that in the south of France attitudes are very polychronic and so being late by fifteen minutes or so is perfectly normal.

Why should anyone buy from your website? Despite the acceptance of Internet shopping on a larger scale, many people are still squeamish about buying things from websites they never heard of before. They might be nervous about the security of their credit card number, or the misuse of their personal information, or that the product won't be delivered, or when it is it will not meet their expectations. There are hundreds of reasons for someone to NOT buy something from your website. If you sell products or services that are similar to many
other sites, your problem is even worse. At least if your the only person on the Internet selling monogramed crochet dog slippers, there is more chance someone who really wants them will buy; but even then, it doesn't hurt to make your prospects feel comfortable. How? Your site should not look like it's run by one of those guys that sells watches on the street corner in Big City. Your site needs a good dose of credibility. Here's how to get it---
** Get Your Own Domain Name

Obtaining your own domain name, such as LisasKnickKnack.com, is more important than most people think. It's hard to convince someone that you are stable and serious about your business when your URL is www.angelfire.com/users/~joeyp. The only exception to this rule might be the case for stores.yahoo.com. It is relatively cheap to get a domain name form one of the many registrars like Register.com. I find it is cheaper to buy it for 3 or more years; if your business doesn't work out, you can always auction off the domain on eBay and get your money back, so just go for it. These seem to have some inherent reassurance at least to the Yahoo! community.

**Reduce Customer Risk

People want to be safe and secure. All websites that accept payments or any user information should have BOTH a Privacy Policy and a Security Statement on their website. Look at a couple of the big sites policies--like Paypal--and see what is in their statement. If you use SSL (and you should) to encrypt credit card data, then mention it. You should also never sell your customer's information (unless you don't want them to come back), and make sure you tell them their info is safe. Also, look into getting a secure site certificate from Verisign--they are $295. Another very important factor is the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. You can see an example logo at the bottom of page http://www.profitmonkey.com/catalog.html, and then read about the no risk return policy at http://www.profitmonkey.com/about.html page. These are a must have for just about every site.

**Reachability

One of the first things many people do right before they purchase--myself included--is to check to see if there is a way to contact the website owner if there is a problem, or if they need to make an inquiry. (Examples: Where's my order? Can I get that in green?) The more ways to get in touch with you, the more comfortable they will feel. Also, this adds to the overall impression of stability, like having a domain name. At a minimum you should supply an email address, and it adds a lot of bonus points if you have a mailing address. Cyberspace is very abstract ("somewhere out there"), but Paducha, Kentucky can be found on the map.

**Face, Name, & Credentials

First of all, putting up a face and a name on your website really helps people feel comfortable (even if you use that great picture from 12 years ago--wink,wink). Also, If you have any special credentials that are related to your web site products/services, it will help if you mention them. If you sell dog-grooming services and have three prize winning Dobermans, mention it. If you sell consulting services and have an MBA, then mention it. If you run 7 newsletters, and 3 websites for a total of 9 years Internet experience, spin it up, and use it.

**Evidence of Stability

If you have been in business for some time (say more than 2 years) mention it on your front page: "Serving you since 1999!" Also, you must accept credit cards online if you sell anything. This is not only for matters of convenience for your visitors, it shows that another entity (the financial institution that allowed you to accept credit cards) has checked you out to some extent. Another factor here are organizational memberships, whether they are related to your website theme or product (e.g., ), or consumer organizations like BBBonline.org and Truste.org. Another big plus in the stability area is referrals and testimonials. Put testimonials where everyoine will notice them. If people see that others have purchased and liked what you sell, then it must be good! Also, having an affiliate program shows evidence of stability as well. I guarantee that if you incorporate these tips into your site now, you will see at least some increase in your conversion rate (visitors to buyers), assuming you have the traffic in the first place.

Finding A Profitable Niche in Bum Marketing

The number one question that almost everyone asks when they first start out with online marketing. This alone can decide whether you make money online or not. A lot of people will jump on a bandwagon and promote a product that is already doing very well. You could also try and create a market that does not yet exist. People do this everyday and the first ones in the market are the most successful because they are the only ones offering that product. This takes a considerable mor
amount of time though the payoff is quite higher though.

Benefits of promoting a niche that is already doing very well. For starters you know you can't go wrong with this one. You might not make a killing but you will make money. There is no guess work in this one because someone has already done the research and studying to figure out that, that particular niche will be successful. So if you are just starting out with Internet Marketing and Making Money Online I suggest this path. However there will always be some disadvantages though.

Since the market is doing so well already there most likely will be a considerable amount of competition that you will have to beat out to make any kind of money. Do not scare yourself out though. Even though their may be a lot of competition out there. A lot of people will not go for it 100%. That is what will separate you from the rest of the crowd. You will take time to research and study what you are promoting so you will know what you are talking about. Do not forget the second option though.

The second option that will take more time though and energy is creating or finding a niche that has not yet been uncovered. This option can lead to great riches if done right. I am sure that you realize why this one can be so much more profitable. If not I will lay it down for you a little bit.

You will be able to take your time and create an outstanding product without worrying if this niche will be milked until the last drop because in fact there is not even a niche to milk yet. This does take a considerable more amount of time then promoting someone else's product because you have to research and then create a product which can take months even years if you are not fully committed and organized. I only recommend this way if you truly want to invest your time and want to go through lots of ups and downs but know in the end it will be worth it.

As you can see Bum Marketing and becoming an Online Marketer is not an overnight thing. There are no shortcuts in this game. There are only different paths that you can choose. Look at the benefits and disadvantages for each one and choose the correct one for your situation and time frame. From there ACTION, ACTION, ACTION. Don't give up and I am positive you will succeed.

Why just sit there when you could be learning to make money online for no money down.

Has your wallet taken a beating during the current recession? Are you looking for ways to make some extra money? Believe it or not, you can be paid to surf the web by Nielsen Ratings. While it's true that you won't make a ton of money (unless you win one of their drawings), you are guaranteed to make a few extra dollars each quarter plus be automatically entered into some great drawings for larger cash and product prizes that are given away throughout the year.

Why Nielsen Ratings Is Willing To Pay You

Here is how it work
. Nielsen Ratings is paid by large companies to collect data on the web surfing habits of people. They are able to determine:

1.) The types of sites people enjoy visiting.

2.) Which websites are the most popular.

3.) How often their own websites are visited by the public.

This data is invaluable because it helps companies position themselves to attract more web traffic, determine what to charge advertisers for advertising space, and see how effective their current websites are.

Nielsen Ratings needs to have volunteers in order to determine which websites are visited the most, and which websites people love. While most people volunteer their time freely for humanitarian projects, most aren't interested in helping companies like Nielsen Ratings unless there is compensation involved.

How You Are Rewarded

That is why Nielsen Ratings pays a small sum of cash each quarter to volunteers who help them with their research. In addition to your quarterly payment you are also entered into drawings for a big cash giveaway plus hundreds of instant prizes. The best part is, you don't have to fill out surveys and other stuff to reap the benefits...you simply surf the net like you always do after signing up and downloading their proprietary software. Thankfully the software does not slow down or interfere with the normal operations of your computer.

If you're interested in getting paid to surf the net, have a chance at winning some really big prizes, and having an impact on the future of the internet, becoming part of the Nielsen Ratings family is an easy way to do it.

When binding documents with twin loop wire (also known as wire-o, double look wire or double-o) the final step in the binding process is to close the wire. This is where the HD-8000 comes in. It is designed to help you close your wire spines easily and accurately every time.

When binding documents with twin loop wire (also known as wire-o, double look wire or double-o) the final step in the binding process is to close the wire. This is accomplished by using a wire closing device to squeeze the "C" shaped wire
pine until it is round. However, if you squeeze the spine too much it will end up overlapping and looking sloppy and if you don't close it enough the pages will fall out. This is where the HD-8000 comes in. It is designed to help you close your wire spines easily and accurately every time.

Features:

The Rhino HD8000 is one of the only wire closers that I have seen that is designed for use with every available size of wire. It is capable of closing wire spines that are 3/16" in diameter (the smallest size available on the market) and as large as 1-1/2" which is the largest available size. Although most users do not use these two sizes of spines it is nice to have the capability if the need should arise.

One of the problems that I often see with wire closers is that they close one side of the book completely and the other side is still slightly open. This happens as the gears for the wire closer slip over time. However, the HD-8000 includes two heavy-duty thumb screws that allow you to adjust each side of the wire closer. This can help you to compensate for wire that is slightly deformed or for any slippage that might occur over time with the closing mechanism. This is one of the best designs that I have seen as far as wire closers go.

The HD8000 is designed so that it can be bolted onto your Rhin-O-Tuff modular binding punch. However, it can also be used as a standalone wire closer without any need for a holder or stand. Using the HD 8000 as a stand along device can help to increase speed and productivity. In fact, if you have one person punching and the other person binding your documents you can more than double your productivity using this machine. For this reason, the HD-8000 is very popular with print shops and for high volume applications.

Limitations:

When it comes to wire closing the HD-8000 really does a good job. However, it is important to note that it is designed for use with books up to 12" in length. If you are going to need to close wires that are longer than this you will need to either choose a longer closing machine or close your documents in two steps (the HD 8000 has an open throat design that makes this possible).

The only other limitation that is worth noting about the HD-8000 is that it uses a horizontal closing method as opposed to a vertical. Interestingly, most other closers available on the market use a vertical process and this is the process that I am more familiar with. I am not sure that either style is better than the other. However, if you have a vertical closer now it might be a little bit awkward to switch.

Construction:

The HD8000 is built extremely well with high quality heavy duty metal components. There is really very little risk that you will break or wear out this machine even if you do a lot of binding. However, the strips of sandpaper like material will most likely need to be replaced over time as the rough material wears off. These components are inexpensive and easy to replace.

Recommendation:

In my opinion the HD-8000 is one of the best wire closers that I have seen. It's heavy duty construction and ability to bind all of the different sizes of wire make it a definite winner. For companies who bind a lot of legal sized documents or large calendars I would probably suggest moving up to the HD-8024 which has the same great features as the 8000 but is 24 inches long.

Professional communication is an essential business tool, we are told by experts. But watch what happens when you drop the formality and add some humanity back into the written word…..

As business professionals, we spend lots of our time interacting with all sorts of people – clients, suppliers, consultants etc. Our interactions can be in person, on the telephone, by email or even these days, by sms.

If you do some reading on the subject, you'll quickly find the predominant school of thought is that all
ommunication must be "professional", and that if it's not, you risk damaging your reputation or credibility.

Part of communicating professionally it seems, is keeping our language and sentence structure formal, using important sounding words and not letting anyone in on the big secret - that we are actually real people.

For example, saying: "Please le us know at your earliest convenience if this appointment is suitable", rather than: "If this doesn't work for you, just give me a call and we'll work out another time".

The first is cold, bland, and sounds like a business with no soul. The second sounds warm, friendly and actually feels like the sender wants a personal relationship with you.

At the risk of flying in the face of conventional wisdom, I believe our status as small business operators gives us a huge advantage over bigger businesses. We can take the opportunity to let our real selves shine through in our communications, and in the process we can differentiate ourselves from our competitors. There are a few of the big guys that do warm communication well. If you are a Virgin customer, you'll know that they excel at friendly and fun communications.

The reality is that people really notice and appreciate the difference between the two. I can't count the number of times that clients have mentioned how much they appreciate my relaxed style and sense of humour.

So take a look at the messages you are sending out. Do they need to be rewritten in plain conversational English? Are the icicles dripping off the pages of your emails and letters, or is the hearth warm and inviting?

After all –who wants to sound big, bland and corporate like everybody else? Leave that to those who think it's important (although why they do escapes me).

Fast Money Working From Home

Posted by Admin | 3:24 AM

In today's economy it is extremely hard to find an easy why to make an extra buck. So here you are looking for some ideas on the internet, where you are bombarded with all this information and all these programs on how to make fast money working from home.

This is something that I'm very familiar with I my self have spent countless amounts of time in front of a search engine looking for a better way to make money. Well I'm glad to say that I found it, however, let me give you a few warnings about the programs you might enco
nter.

Many of the programs that you will find don't work. Many will just take your money and give you vague information on what ever easy money making techniques they say will work, and then of course it's all up to you to figure it out.

When I was spending countless hours in front of my computer searching for some new money making solution, I came across a lot of special programs that said they could show me how to get additional income, fast and easy. My advice to you is if you're looking for a way to make money from home by using the web make sure you read all about the product, most products will give you all the information you need on their web site.

As I was looking through all the search results just as fast as I found what sounded like a great program, I also would find an article giving me the truth behind the product and how it will not work, or how it is not as simple to make money as the program makes it sound.

As I mentioned I did find the program that works for me, but it wasn't easy, but with the tips I gave you here today I bet you will be able to find the one for you must faster.

So remember, read all about the product from the product web site they will give you all the information on the program so that you know that you are making the right decision, also make sure that you are not just buying a "tip off" on how to get rich fast, make sure that you are getting a complete package with guides instructions, actions plans and of course resources and support systems.

Decision Making On The Net

Posted by Admin | 3:24 AM

Many people try to sell us ideas according to their own perception of the world. After all, how a person captures reality depends on the individual point of view. However, if you indeed believe in an idea or specific concept, only then can you sell it well to others. Especially if you are an online internet mediator between loan organizations and people who need money for immediate needs, both quickly and easily. Life can be pictured as one big perception, but your point of view does count.

In a time when internet viewers are the decis
on makers in many aspects of everyday living, the internet audience has an immense power to change. As decision makers, why not compare between Payday Loan organizations, or any other comparisons to suit personal needs? In this manner anyone can click online so as to find out who is offering the best service you can get .In the case of online loans, if it is reliable, shows up on the first page of a popular search engine and has many customers writing good reviews, why not try for yourself and see if the application process is simpler than at your local bank?

When your local bank turns you down for a loan you have to take for higher than expected gas bills or urgent bills of any nature, why not try paperwork free online loans? Not only is it based in the UK, but its reliability and average interest rate allow you to get the loan and repay it on your next paycheck.

Here's a simple way to build your your opt-in list and boost your online sales. Discover a neat way to keep your visitors on your sales page while you collect their contact information for further follow-up and marketing. Simple marketing tactic many professional online marketers use...

Copyright (c) 2008 Titus Hoskins Retaining your visitor's attention while they are on your site is a well-known problem for many webmasters. Visitors get distracted and click away from your page or site without performing your chosen ta
ks you had planned for them to carry out. How rude of them! Many times it is the webmaster who is to blame... a poorly constructed webpage can result in a lost sale or a lost subscriber. Many times the core reason for this failed manipulation has to do with the layout of the webpage itself, than to any lack of interest on your visitor's part. Most webmasters, especially those who are into marketing, want their visitors to do two things: 1. buy their product or click thru to an affiliate link to buy a product 2. sign-up or opt-in to their newsletter to receive follow-up information This is where problems can arise, visitors may just opt-in and they are quickly wisped away to a thank-you page. Or the visitors might buy the product without signing up to your newsletter list. Many professional webmasters use a squeeze page where they capture the contact information of interested customers. Others use Pop-ups or Fade-ins to capture contact information. But many times having your visitors go thru all these different pages can be distracting and result in bounces or lost sales. One simple solution to this common problem is to keep your visitors on your main sales page and still collect their contact information. This can be easily done by the use of a simple iFrame. An iFrame lets you insert content from another website into your current page without distracting the reader. It is a popular way of inserting another HTML page on your current webpage - advertisers such as Amazon have long used iFrames. The new widgets are another way of accomplishing this same task. By using the iFrame code, you can open or display your autoresponder sign-up form directly on your sales page. Then as your visitor signs up for your list or newsletter - you can display the thank-you page in the same iFrame, all the while keeping your visitor on the sales page and still reading your message. Setting up your iFrame code is quite simple. Here is some sample code you can use. Keep in mind, you can adjust the size of your iFrame and the color of the page background, etc. - like you would do with any HTML webpage. Remove *'s in actual code for your iFrames. Your lead capture page will contain your autoresponder form. All professional AR services such as Aweber or GetResponse will supply these forms which you can place in your iFrame. Then once your visitor has signed-up, they will receive your thank-you message right on the page in the iFrame. Just design your HTML thank-you page to fit neatly in your iFrame window. Keep in mind, all these HTML pages have to be hosted on your site's hosting account. Why is this so effective? The main reason why using an iFrame can be very effective is because your visitor NEVER leaves your page, they can continue watching your video, reading your sales message while they sign-up to your list. Many webmasters will offer incentives for people to sign-up with extra videos, free software downloads, free marketing tips... people will gladly give you their contact information if you provide them with valuable information they can use. Just use an iFrame to make the whole sign-up process easy and seamless for your site's visitors to do.

Blacksmith Anvil Information

Posted by Admin | 3:24 AM

Blacksmithing is becoming a very popular hobby. Learn the Blacksmith Anvil.

The first anvils were the large, heavy and hard stones that cavemen used a work benches. A piece of bone of flint would be placed atop this stone and a smaller stone held in the hand would be used to chip away at the bone or flint to create a shape, usually an arrow or spear head. In the millennia since then anvils have come a long way, but there basic function remains the same. The modern anvil, as we know it, came into exis
ence in the Middle Ages when metal working was a major activity.

The upper or working area of the anvil, where the heated metal is placed is called the face. The face is usually tempered and hardened so that it does not loose its shape or surface integrity with use. The constant force of the hammer blows is transferred through the metal being worked to the anvil and a soft face will become misshapen and useless. The hardened face of the anvil will also absorb very little of the impact of a hammer blow so that the effect of each blow on the metal being worked will be both greater and more controllable. The face also needs to be completely smooth and defect free. Marks or scratches on the face will create unwanted impressions on the underside to the metal being worked on. An important aspect of maintaining the integrity of the face is to never let the hammer strike it directly since this will cause damage.

The anvil will normally have rounded edges since squared off ends result in sharp edges that that many cut into the metal that be being worked on. Some anvils have a step with a squared off edge at one end. This is used for cutting metal by hammering at a point directly over the step so the edge acts like a knife. Many blacksmiths do not use this design as they feel that the hammer force being applied to the edge of the face can, over time, cause it to warp.

Most blacksmiths anvils have a cone shaped projection extending from one side. These are used for hammering the metal into curved shapes and since the hammer blows are around the cone and not directly on it; these do not need to be made out of hardened tempered steel. The cones are also used for stretching the metal by pulling it over the curved surface to make it both longer and thinner.

Some anvils have two holes on the side of the face. The square one is called the Hardy Hole and is designed to hold special forming and cutting tools which are used for bending and punching holes in the metal being worked.

The round hole is called the Pritchel hole which is used for punching holes in the metal. The spot where the hole is to be created is place directly over the Pritchel hole and a punching tool or bit is then hammered over the metal, punching a hole.

Leaders, consultants and managers must be competent in at least thirteen domains to even begin effectively managing creativity and innovation. Part 1 of Managing Creativity and Innovation covers the first seven of these domains.

a) The difference between creativity and innovation. Often used interchangeably, the two must be thought of as separate and distinct. One definition for creativity is that it is problem identification and idea generation, whilst innovation is best described as idea selection, development and commerci
lisation. These definitions alone imply at least six competencies (including one holistic). At a minimum, the differences mean that, at each stage, varying skills, processes and structures are required.

b) The size and richness of idea pools. Initially creative thinking is used to generate an idea pool and then critical thinking reduces those ideas to feasible ones. To maximise the quantity and quality of the idea pool, a conscious application of processes and techniques must be applied. Some of these include

i) Using a variety of stimuli and frameworks to open up pathways

ii) Not stopping when a good idea seems to present itself

iii) Consciously stimulating change in direction

iv) Distinguishing between the numbers of ideas produced, their novelty, diversity and frequency of production.

c) Creative types. There is common belief that some people just are more creative and certain theorists argue for creativity characteristics such as tolerance of ambiguity and intolerance for conformity. However, traits are notoriously difficult to detect and not stable nor transferable across situations. Also, motivation is thought to be more important than traits – this is similar to possessing high intelligence - one must be motivated to improve and apply it.

d) Learning versus Talent. Can creativity be learned and developed or is it a natural talent or gift? The best way to answer this question is to investigate whether creativity improves with practice. The experience curve, automisation, learning theories and the experiences of practitioners suggest that people do get better at generating more, better, diverse and novel ideas - but there are caveats, such as an increase in path dependency and peaks and troughs in motivation.

e) Motivation. Someone with natural ability or placed in the right environment may not take advantage of it unless motivated. Intrinsically motivated individuals tend to expend more effort and create more output and synergistic extrinsic motivation better enables a person to complete an endeavour. On the other hand, non-synergistic extrinsic motivation leads to a person feeling controlled and manipulated and is incompatible with intrinsic motivation. Specific motivators such as material reward, progress to the ideal self, self-determination, self-evaluation, feedback, enjoyment, competency expansion, recognition and feasibility can all be quantitatively measured and monitored.

f) Organisational Culture. We can all be more creative, so what is stopping us?  Often people complain of some degree of evaluation apprehension – this manifests itself in many ways but two of the most common are a fear of seeming unintelligent or unoriginal. Some cultures are more risk averse than others, others do not manage competition well and yet others engender friction by misallocating resources.

g) Organisational structure. Many theories argue that certain structures, such as hierarchical and mechanistic, hinder creativity and innovation. Whilst these theories generally tend towards validity, there are many reasons why a business has a particular organisational structure - history, logistics, market segmentation, product line, strategy and so forth – therefore it is unreasonable to ask a firm to change it. Ultimately, what managers need, is a knowledge of the properties of a fostering structure so that they may incorporate those elements into their existing one.

This field yields much interesting data. For example, many respondents argued that all structures, even those so-called flat structures, are in reality hierarchical.

Some very simple changes can be implemented. These include:

i) Direct communication links to decision makers.

ii) Cross-divisional information flow.

iii) Tangible progress of ideas.

Part 2 of Managing Creativity & Innovation will discuss Group Structure, Knowledge, Networks and Collaboration, Radical and Incremental Creativity and Innovation, Structure and Goals, Process and Valuation.

These and other topics are covered in depth in the MBA dissertation on Managing Creativity & Innovation, which can be purchased (along with a DIY Audit, Good Idea Generator Software and Power Point Presentation) from http://www.managing-creativity.com
